Cocoa Beach vs WDW pre-cruise in April

We are in Colorado and we love the idea of the beach! But we were wondering if we are cruising in early April, will it be cold at the beach? If it is too cold to enjoy the beach and going in the water, we might enjoy WDW more. Any thoughts or advice on that time of the year would be sosososososo appreciated! :)

We went before a cruise that left on an Easter Sunday. We decided on Cocoa Beach because there was no way I'd go to WDW to battle those crowds. Granted, it was mid April, but we got in two beach days. One day was cool and raining, but we managed to go to Kennedy Space Center and see a rocket launch. Our departure day was also cool and raining. Water was plenty warm for an East Coaster.
