I booked us in at the Holiday Inn Beachfront in June with what I thought was a good rate at $55 a night. There are 14 of us and we need 4 rooms. Are there any better deals out there- or did I do okay. We want beachfront - any ideas- thanks

Sounds pretty good to me! We'll be down right after you it looks like. We'll be at the Hampton's for $89 (includes breakfast) a night so your price sounds like a deal to me.

Well...you can get the same hotel on Priceline for about $35 plus tax and priceline service fee. They use 3 3* hotels in Cocoa Beach--Hilton, Doubletree, and Holiday Inn.

You might consider bigging Priceline and then cancelling your reservation when you get a successful lower bid. Just remember to allow about $7 for the handling charge when you figure your max bid.

We got Holiday Inn for $34. With tax and handling fee, it came to $44.31 for the night. If you really care where you stay, don't do Priceline. For us, the issue is clean, decent beds, and not a lot of money. Also, Priceline says that rooms are intended for 2 people, however, most hotels have "kids stay free" and you can call the hotel after your successful bid and request 2 double beds....

Two things to keep in mind about the Holiday Inn Oceanfront...

1) They charge a "resort fee" per day/per person in addition to the standard room rate. The pool and related facilities there look pretty cool... but I'm not sure they justify a "resort fee".

2) There have been several anecdotal reports warning folks away from this property due to dirty rooms.

I am just curious, WHY would you want to leave beautiful Cave Creek to go on a cruise???
From your crazy bus stop buddy

Because 'Bus Stop Buddy'- I want to trade in a rattlesnake for a jelly fish. Your fault anyway- you got me started on this! And by the way- did Priceline and got the DoubleTree for $44. See ya at the 'bus stop'

how far in advance did you bid on priceline? I started bidding right at the 330 day mark for cocoa beach @41.00 and have not been successful yet, today I get to try again. Is there any point in bidding so far out?

The Holiday inn beachfriont is an older hotel but still very nice especially if you have kids. They have a great pool area for kids3-11ish Be careful on price line my firend bid for priceline and she got cocoa beach holiday inn but it was notthe beachfront one it was the express about 3 miles fdown closer to the port she was a little diappointed as she thought it was the one with the big pool so just make surre you are getting the right one.

I think the Holiday Inn Beachfront is a little dirty...IMHO You did much better getting the doubletree.

Have fun!:earsgirl:
