Cobb at Brown Derby

Is it ok to go to Brown Derby and just order the Cobb Salad appetizer? We plan to pay out of pocket for this meal and NOT use our DDP because it's not that expensive and 2TS credits wouldn't be worth it. Really, splitting a Cobb Salad and then ordering a dessert would be enough food for DH and I but I feel like this would be cheating the poor waiter out of a tip so I guess we'll both order one.

I think that would be fine, especially if you ordered dessert.

We went for lunch a few years ago, and my mom and I split a Cobb Salad and then each ordered a bowl of soup. They didn't mind a bit.

(And the salad is very tasty! )

The last time I had the Cobb salad, it was tasty and BIG. Plenty for a meal.

I'm sure it's fine...after all, do they ask you what you intend to order when you make your ADR?

I went for lunch in December and the Cobb salad is offered then as an entree. I enjoyed that!

Everytime my I've been with my father, he only gets the Cobb salad. He loves it, and it's plenty big.

It seems they expect that since that is one of entrees/appetizers the restaurant is known for.

If you just wanted to go only for the Cobb salad (i.e., not to see the inside of the Brown Derby), last year you could get the same salad as a CS at Starring Rolls...

This salad is amazing and HUGE. I am sure you will love it.

We do the same thing. The lunch portion of the Cobb Salad is more than enough for 2 people.

that's what DH and i did once - went in for lunch, paid OOP - i got the cobb salad, DH got crab cakes, i had the grapefruit cake for dessert with coffee - and i gave the waiter a big tip to make up for not eating meals (service was excellent, BTW)

You guys are so nice. I will not share my Cobb Salad Mickey Bar I will share, Cobb Salad no way.

You can add a little more tip if you feel like you should. My friend & I do that at a local place we eat at. The waitress really splits the dinner nicely for us.

The salad is wonderful and we've only been able to get it at the Brown Derby. I've tried twice now to get it at Starring Rolls and they don't have it, even though I've seen people post that it's on the menu there.....

did you have to special order it or something? What am I doing wrong? LOL
