Coaster train from Oceanside to San Diego

We are thinking about using the Coaster down to San Diego a few times on our Oceanside trip to do the Zoo and SeaWorld and was wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations? Does it tend to run on time? Any issues using it? My husband loves trains and the scenery sounds beautiful plus it would save us from some driving. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks.

Yes, beautiful trip and it's always been on time for us. We've done it several times even though we live here and have a car.
