I want to try to get a coast to coast medal. Do you have to run both races in the same calendar year or just within a year? I wanted to do the Wine and Dine half November 2014 and the Tinkerbell half in January 2015.

I don't know a lot about the DL races. Don't they sell out instantly though? Did the DL half not go on sale yet?

Disneyland goes on sale for AP holders on January 22. I believe it's January 28 for the general public. So you're not too late.

DL half goes on sale 28 Jan. I don't know how quickly it will sell out since it's priced at $195.

Half goes on sale for the public on Jan 28 to general public. If you have an AP its Jan 22. It sells out really fast, like within the first 24-48 hours fast last year. It might be better this year since they aren't doing as much pre-registration for this year but its still too early to say.

it's selling out much faster these days, and wine & dine is expected to sell out sooner than usual with this year being their 5th anniversary.
there's talk that the current rate for DL Dumbo is 50% and DL Half at 30%. If you have an AP, They're opening registration at 8am PST on the 28th for all the races. Public registration is at 9am PST, though to be honest, it doesn't even matter anymore, if you see the link, register when you see it.. don't delay.

as for the Coast to Coast, as others have mentioned, yes it needs to be within the same calendar year. you can't carry over. I thought of it too and called to ask so I got a direct answer. There are quite a few opportunities this year that have already passed and/or are coming up, but if you haven't registered yet, then DL Half & Wine & Dine are your best bets. I did that last year and got my C2C at W&D. If you want (and you can) you should bring your DL Half medal(s) with you to florida to take a pic. Below, i brought my tink half & dumbo medals with me last year.. come with 4 medals, leave with 6.
