If you read the story I have linked to below, It says that the military will board and search all foriegn flagged vessals. While the article talks mainly about cargo ships, all the cruise ships (except the two NCL ships in Hawaii) are foriegn flagged. Does this mean a visit from the Coast Gaurd before a cruise ship can dock?

US Boosting Port Security

I doubt it, but you never know. The cruise lines have to submit a passenger manifest before they call at a US port, so they know who is on board. I suppose this means that the CG can board a ship before coming in to port, but I don't think it necessarily means they will.

The security has changed each time we've cruised since 9/11 (we cruised in October of that year). SO.....I doubt that there will be a full scale boarding and inspection, but DCL will comply with whatever security standards the US government sets (and sometimes adds extra security measures on it's own).
