CMH Long Term Parking?

We booked those great DING fares yesterday from Columbus to Orlando...we have not flown out of Columbus before. I looked at the airport web site and saw they have 2 long term parking lots (red and green lots) that are only $6/day. I also found a couple of off site lots that are about the same price if you make advance reservations...

Any Columbus residents out there that could tell me how often the cheaper long term lots are full? Would you recommend off site parking vs airport parking? If so who would you use off site? Also does the $6/day rate include tax or is it added at checkout?

We normally park our vehicle in the Blue lot at CMH. It's $7 per day. The shuttle bus will stop right by your car, so you can load your luggage. It's very fast and convenient. Since it's on airport parking, they do not charge tax since it's part of the airport services.

DH parked in the red lot last month - and it was fine for him. It was $6 per day - and he had to walk to the end of the row to pick up a shuttle.

We have never had a problem finding a parking space at any of the on airport parking lots.

When DS was young, we used Thifty parking near the airport. They offer a AAA discount. You pull up to their parking area, a driver hops in and rides with you to the airport drop off area. Then, the driver parks your car for you. When you return, you make a call from in the airport and they send a shuttle. Once you arrive at Thifty, they have your car running and ready for you (Nice in the winter). However, even with AAA discount, it's more expensive because of the taxes (charges for airport access).

we always park in the blue lot also. Never had a problem.

Don't know when you're going, but check the website every now and then. They've had coupons on there before for $1 off per day, so we paid $5 a day. Not a huge discount, but it's better than nothing.

I normally park at sun park http://www.sunpark.com. They are a little bit further from the airport (1/2 a mile max) but are cheaper if you self park and use the coupon. (Current coupon is good until the end of the month but they always seem to have the same coupon online).
