Hi folks
Well i`ve paid for the holiday and just needed to get our Eurotunnel crossing sorted ,I have been on and priced it up-£140 for the 2 crossings and have ordered my clubcard deals to that amount .
They arrived today and i`ve read that they need to get to Eurotunnel 4 days after provisionally booking so can someone let me know if i`m doing it right?!!
On monday i shall phone Eurotunnel and provisionally book our crossings and then fill in the booking form and send that with the deals vouchers by recorded delivery monday morning?
I decided to wait till monday so the vouchers have a straight run without weekends in the way!Its the first time i`ve ever used the deals but i`m hoping theres a pro on board somewhere to reassure me!!
Thanks in advance
liz

I haven't booked Eurotunnel but have had 2 holidays with Leger and 1 with XL using deals and it's been just as you've set out above. I've always sent my deals Special Delivery for peace of mind and the additional compensation cover.

When I booked with XL they took down the voucher numbers over the phone, at the booking stage, as you have the vouchers in hand this won't be a problem for you if Eurotunnel do the same, Leger never did.

Hope this helps. :)

thanks Jill
Thats just the kind of reassurance i needed -roll on march!!!

hi,
we used deals tokens for our trip in october.
it's definitely good to have the webpage open with the cheap crossing times when you call.
they do need the voucher numbers.
you have to post it special delivery for some reason.
you can get on an earlier crossing for free if you turn up early but it costs more if you're late.

We paid for our Eurotunnnel crossing with Tesco clubcard deals also.
As you've read you have 4 days from your booking to ensure that your deal vouchers arrive at Eurotunnel, otherwise your credit card will be charged with the full amount.

Just make sure that you use Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery so that you have a method of tracking delivery. Special Delivery has a before 12 noon next day which at under £5 was just the peace of mind we wanted :goodvibes

what are the price differences like, between what is quoted online, and what they quote you over the phone?

ive always thought about using my tesco vouchers, but if its anything like the holidays, by having to pay full brochure price it isnt worth wasting the deals vouchers on. i can get a return for about £60 normally, so thats only £15 in deals vouchers

im thinking of booking a campsite through French Life using deals vouchers and then also booking the tunnel with deals vouchers. online quote its working out at about £900 cash for the campsite/tunnel, but i have nearly £200 of tesco vouchers that i can change into deals, so if i could get it for roughly the cash price, its gonna be a nice cheap visit to DLP

I priced our crossing as £146 on-line. When I phoned I was quoted £146 :) Paid with £140 in CC and a difference of £6 charged to the credit card :woohoo:

I've just booked with French Life staying here http://www.frenchlife.co.uk/uce/fl?...tartdate=&duration=&sleeps=5&propertyTypeId=3. I paid 902.00 in clubcard Deals vouchers and 74.00 cash for the Ferry supplement. That is for peak season (mid August) for one week. I'm sure you can book eurostar and just pay a supplement. Obviously no good for trips you've already booked Lizbro but its great that there is a reasonable Clubcard Deal again for DLRP!:cool1:

Thanks for all the info- i hadn`t thought of the fact that the price may go up when getting my confirmation over the phone!Well its still saved me £140 and as our Easter holidays are early next year we`ve managed to get in 1 free child as hes under 7 and also slightly cheaper rates-£936 for 2 adults 4 kids 5 nights 6 days Davy crockett ranch and 6 days park tickets -not too bad considering !!
Thanks again
liz
