Just back from 3 great nights at the Royal Pacific Club Level. Got there at about 2:30 after our Carnival Pride Cruise and waited until 3:00 for the room to be ready.

The "Club" is on the top floor of building 3 and has a large room that serves continental breakfast, snacks, cheese and free wine/beer from 5-7 pm. Bottled water and sodas are also free.

There are 2 TV's on either end of the room with sofas and the hostess has a selection of DVD's to choose from. We spent each evening watching a movie with our kids after the parks closed.

I gave the hostess $5 each night and got really great service from her.

Parking was never an issue and housekeeping/turndown service was perfect (tipped them also).

The parks were nearly empty so front of the line access was not needed much (MIB being the only real timesaver).

Are there DVD players in your room too, or only in the Club Lounge?

Thanks!

The DVD players were only in the lounge. Not sure if there are any in the suites. Since there are 2, we had no problem getting our choice of movie each night. We watched: The Green Mile, Astin Powers and Jaws (hey - it was Universal afterall)

If you don't mind me asking ... how much is a room at the Club level? Did you have to pay for parking?

Thanks.

We paid $139 plus $6 parking using the "Fan Club Card". We had booked early and they were offering great rates when they first started accepting bookings.

Rack rates for value season are $159 std, $179 water view and $249 for club level. Parking is additional.

We were there at the same time (8/31-9/2) and we didn't get charged for parking. Are you a Lowes First member?

Speaking of Lowes First, we got our gift (milk and cookies) the first night, but not the second. It was so late by the time we got back from the parks that it wasn't worth the effort. We had a fan club rate, so I was surprised to get anything at all.

We loved the hotel and the club level. Breakfast was wonderful, lots of choices. From 5-7 there were fewer selections, but enough choices that even our 13 year old found things to snack on. My only complaint is that the desserts from 8-9:30 were long gone by 9:00. If you are looking for something sweet, I suggest you get there early!!

Loudbmw, sounds like a very nice trip! Thanks for the details. Have you ever stayed at either the Hard Rock or Portofino prior? Just curious how they measure up.

Letsbgoofy,

I'm happy to see another pleased review. The Loews gift you spoke of, in your case cookies and milk is a "welcome gift" and is received once per stay. I dont recall seeing Loews first benefits listing parking as free. You must have gotten lucky!:D Did the hotel seem busy or quiet?

Anyone know if Fan Club is offering club level rates for December? What about entertainment rates?

I have a trip comming up in December and have stayed at both Portofino and Hard Rock and would really like to try the Royal Pacific but for some reason I'm still uneasy about not going back to Portofino! We love it that much:)

We stayed at the Hard Rock last year and the HRH pool is a little nicer than the Royal Pacific. Boat rides from the RPH to City Walk were quick. Rooms at the HRH were also a bit nicer but not by much. The beds at the RPH seemed "slippery"?

I would be happy to stay at either place as long as the price is right. We got our welcome gift even at the low rate we paid. Parking didn't show up on bill at check-out but hit my credit card (I think the guard nailed us when we left).

I stayed club level at RP from 8/25 to 8/30 on the Fan Club rate of $139.00. (great trip, we loved this hotel). We received our welcome gift on the first night (wine) without having to ask. We were NOT charged for parking either. But as we entered the parking area each time - to raise the gate you either had to put in your room key (which we did not), or push the button and it gave you a ticket. Maybe by inserting your key, it computes the charge to your room???

Thanks Loudbmw ... when you stayed at the HRH last year, did you receive a CD upon check-in?

I understand the RP pool does not have a slide but do the offer a kids area?

Can you walk to the parks?

Club Level sounds nice! Anyone know if they have any suites club level?

Loudbmw please do explain "slippery beds" The sheets? Too bad about the parking! I wonder if Captbligh is on to something by pushing the button instead of inserting the key! I have read quite a few posts and parking sems to be hit or miss with charging.
I'm hoping they offer a special Club Level rate again for December.

Thanks for the info!

OH foooz...I got the CD you mentioned at Hard Rock Check-In last year. It was a little packet with a tour guide, map of property and ammenities offered along with a CD sampler. Pretty cool:)

Fan2CSkr and Loudbmw, my husband too complained of "slippery sheets" (his words exactly). The mattress covers under the sheets must have some sort of plastic covering, although myself and 2 teens were not botherd at all ( I didn't even notice, but my husband is a restless sleeper).

There is a small kids pool off the main pool, however having a zero entry area in the main pool makes it appropriate for all ages. Although no slide, there is a water play area for the kids. Many nice areas, with free pool table, shuffleboard, and ping pong (many nights got our free drinks from club lounge and went and played shuffleboard all night, while 30's music played softly in the background. It was exquisite! My kids loved it). 2 nice jacuzzis and a pool bar. Went to HRH for the day to use the pool. Many love this hotel - nice, but it was not my thing (and I love rock music - my original ressies were for here. To each their own) Pool was nice, but somewhat smaller and shallower, but the slide IS AWESOME.

Walk to the parks is about 10 mins. and comes out next to Jimmy Buffetts. Water taxi is very quick and convenient too.

For full report on club level and suites available at the resort, see my post on trip reports board.

Any questions let me know.
