I am visiting Disneyland this weekend with a young friend, age 12, who has been diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a rare, malignant form of brain cancer. He was diagnosed 5 years ago and has been through two surgeries already. The cancer has spread, however, to his brain stem and we don't know how long he will last.

I thought it would be special if I could take him, his aunts and uncles to Club 33. To do this, though, I need to find someone who is a member and who would be willing to place on on their guest list. Easy, right?

Is there anyone out there who is a member and would be willing to designate Louis Lawrence and his family as guests for the day of March 8th? Please?

If anyone is interested, I can send information regarding Louis and his illness. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

To be quite honest I would suggest contacting Disney directly for this request as with the late date, very miniscule amount of actual members on this board and with their ability to make you a reservation I think you would have much better contacting them. I think somewhere on this board one person said Disney did work something out for them.

Good luck and best wishes.

I agree with the first commenter. Your best bet would be to contact Disney.

Because you are a new member I can't PM you, would say the reverse therefore is also true. I may have been able to help but with your timeframe I think probably not. Like others have said your best bet is probably to take your medical records with you and try town hall when you get there.

hmm, you can also try Make a Wish Foundation. Disney works very closely with them making wishes come true for many kids and people.

MAW is a whole other ball of wax.

truth is, the hardest story in the world isn't going to make yourself an easy find for club 33 members. you *might* find someone willing to help, but the reality is club 33 members are fully responsible for the behavior of their guests and can face repercussions. this is why it's not all that common to find offers anywhere, least of all to perfect strangers.

with all due respect, i can't imagine club 33 is a big draw for any 12 year old anyway (maybe some, but certainly not most). there's plenty going on elsewhere where i'd think a 12 year old would rather be in the parks.

why not pilot the mark twain? ride tender on the train (or city hall can probably get you into the lily belle parlour car)

i'd probably get my foot in the door by talking to the VIP tour services with the intent of booking a VIP guide. explaining your situation may help you some, but you can't rely on anything either.

I would also recommend the child contact Make a Wish - they do a LOT with Disney (my brother with a similar brain cancer was a recipient) and will have the best options available.

The make a wish will work fast to get him a wish if time is limited. I am not sure what the hype is about and especially for a 12 year old. I have seen and heard storiess of club 33 and it is just a upscale resturant that is hard to get in. There are so many other special things to do then to eat. I am not trying to say anything wrong, just seems more like a place for adults.

I have been involved with Make A Wish Foundation for a number of years and based upon the OP's statement this would probably be the best way to go, again based upon the boy's wish time.

Best of luck,

Jack
