Cloudy with a chance of meatballs - movie?

Howdy!

Yup, we saw it last night.
My mom only sees rated G movies,
but she is getting braver now that DD and Dniece are both 7.

Meatballs is rated PG (not sure why)

We enjoyed it.
My DD who is timid never crawled into my lap
and the girls giggled a ton!

The younger ones around us seemed to have a good time too.

Enjoy popcorn::

My kids are BEGGING to go see this! Looks really cute, but yeah, I was wondering why the PG rating?

We loved this movie. :banana:Someone ask why was it PG...I am not sure...:confused3I am pretty picky but I do not remember anything offensive in the movie. We all loved it. :rotfl2:There are plenty of laughs no matter the age. If you loved the book, you will LOVE the movie.:thumbsup2 We saw it in 3D. It was worth the extra money to see it in 3D. :cool1:

DD9 and I saw it in 3D last night. I enjoyed it much more than I expected. There were lots of laughs. Then came...*SPOILER AHEAD*...
the roasted chickens that "came to life". I don't know why, but this REALLY icked me. It just seemed disgusting at the time. I'm sure the issue was with me, as there was a moment that I thought "I can't eat chicken ever again". :confused3

I agree, thought the movie was cute, but the chicken thing went a little far.

I think I remember the Mayor saying hell or damn, that might have been one of the reasons for the PG, but it probably slipped past most ears. I don't remember anything else that was too questionable.

We just saw it with our DDs 8,6 & 2 - and they loved it- so did we lots of laughs, cute clever movie.

I didn't even realize it was PG, I took my just turned 4 year old last night and she loved it! We saw it in 3D....several 3D movies we saw recently really didn't have many 3D wow moments, but this one was definatly pretty cool in 3D. I thought it was cute and funny. I don't remember any bad language.

I'm heading to see it tomorrow .. there's a Wii game out already for it (my daughter won it at a kids' expo today, but hasn't tried it yet). I'm hoping to go to one that's NOT 3D .. she hates wearing the glasses the whole time (and she looooves going to see movies - I've been taking her for almost 3 years, since she was 2, and the last 3D movie was the only one she balked at!)

I checked it out on Screen It and the reasons my kids won't be seeing it are heavy disrespect/bad attitude and heavy imitative behavior. One phrase they mention is "holy crap balls" and I can't recall the other off the top of my head.

Once again, a "family" movie comes out that COULD be appropriate for all children, but the moviemakers deliberately choose not to make it so. Frustrating.

For my daughter's 5th birthday next w/e we're taking a minivan full of 4-7 y/o's to Chunky's.....have you heard of it? It's a movie theater/restaurant all in one. You sit at regular tables and sit in old limo seats and order off a full menu then eat while you watch! For the bday event they'll give unlimited popcorn, drinks then serve all the kids pizza, cake and ice cream...we'll watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs while eating the cake and ice cream....all this for only $15pp!!! Can't wait til next Sat...should make for a fun/memorable bday party!

We saw it last night at the drive in. It was cute ( except the scarey chickens). Our group included 8 ppl (ages 7, 7, 9, 11, 14, 40, 44, 44), everyone liked it.

Clupacyzk, we LOVE Chunkys. My DD's soccer team plays is a tournament every Memorial Day in Nashua NH. The highlight of the trip is a team outing to Chunkys. Enjoy your party and movie, the kids will love it!!

W saw it on Friday.. DD's school has been reading the book to the kids during library time so they have made a very big deal about the movie release. It was a must see for my kids obviously..lol
We loved it..and laughed a lot!!!

You are really not going to let them see that because of that phrase and the attitude of the movie? I bet you they hear a lot worse in public. Microparenting at it's finest.

My DH took our 7 yr old son today to see it. They both really enjoyed it!
