I always take my 3 children for a couple of weeks in May/June when the weather is definitely HOT! This year will be our first time to go over the Thanksgiving holiday (Nov. 27-Dec. 2). I'm wondering what type of clothing I will need for this time. Even though I live in the "Deep South" myself, I can't seem to be certain of the clothes issue. I know I'm usually in a short sleeve for Thanksgiving, but I'm also very hot-natured, and can easily get a change of clothing if necessary. I'm trying not to have to "double-pack" if at all necessary!:o With 3 children (ages 10, 6, and 5) I have to haul enough stuff around to the parks. Any suggestions from you "Thanksgiving Veterans"?

Thanks.

That time of year is usually very nice. It can be warmish on some days, and a wet day might be cool, but it is generally nice. I wore shorts most of the time, but then, I am a northerner, and that time of year is NOT shorts weather here! Last time, I believe we had one cool day, but wore shorts the rest of the time. One of the things I LOVE about DVC is that we dont have to pack so much! I LOVE having the washer/dryer available!

Hey, BraveMom3! We lived in Central Fl. for four years, and I can tell you that Thanksgiving is wonderful - warm, "short-weather" days and evenings that can get a little brisk. There's the potential for that unusual cold snap, but those are rare.

Good to hear from a fellow Mississippian - we're kind of an elite bunch in the DVC. We live in McComb, I work in Jackson, and we live on a paved road, have all our teeth, and even wear shoes. ;)

We have gone during Thanksgiving for several years. The weather is a real mix. Last year was warm and we were able to swim everyday. Early mornings are cool. Dress in layers to the park, so you can shed your sweatshirts, etc... as the day heats up. Evenings are cooler - a jacket is needed. One year it was very nippy and we ended needing jackets all day. Splash Mountain is very invigorating when you hit the water on a cool morning. It is quite satisfactual.
