Clothing Bargains?

Don't forget Walmart! OK< I only got socks and pants for me (but the socks were so soft and still going 2 years later) but it was great for T-shirts - I got the boys lovely red t-shirts with a vinyl Spiderman logo which they're still wearing (a bit tighter now), and DH found a pile in the "Under $5" rail. DS(13) also got a great streethockey shirt which he lives in, and DH and DS(13) got jeans for about £7. And look at the "Fruit of the Loom" display - the plain T-shirts in loads of colours and sizes were $3 each. They wash really well, and are great if you're going to make T-shirts to wear (See in the Creative Community DDA Trouble free zone for details) - you could print off your designs at home and make them up out there!

I agree though for NICE clothes its hard to beat Premium Outlets - I got some amazing deals at Bass.

It's ages until we go to Florida but I wondered what are good clothing bargains?

I was thinking along the lines of getting sunglasses (eg. Rayban or Oakley) and clothing from Gap for both adults & the kids and Merrell trainers. Can these be found at the shopping malls quite easily and what sort of price comparison are these things to the UK. 50% cheaper???

Thanks

PP

Generally US Labels are better value for money, I wouldn't shop for Armani Jeans but the likes of RayBan and Oakley are brands where you can make savings.

I have a few pairs of Oakley sunglasses, and they generally have worked out at approx. $130 whereas they would be £130 for example in the UK.
They have a store in the Florida Mall, as well as one at Universal Studios, Quiet Flight surf store at US also have a large range of Oakley eyewear and clothing.

Sportswear is particularly good value for money, sports outlets such as the Nike Factory Stores and the likes of Adidas/Nike/Puma at Premium Outlets offer bargains, especially footwear.

None of us like shopping but needed some trainers for when we went at Easter, decided to wait until we got there after registering with Premium outlets VIP printed off a 20% discount voucher for Reebok.
When we went in they had offer buy on pair get one half price so bought 2 pairs at $50/pair, after the 20% off it brought them down to $63 incl tax.
Just over £15/pair, Exactly the same here are £39.99/pair.
Will be looking out for more vouchers for August:thumbsup2

OMG. I reckon I am going to have to either...

a) Only take a few items of clothing with me and buy the rest out there
or
b) Pack a holdall (or two) and fill that with my purchases

I am going to have a HUGE shopping list!

We do both - you don't need to take many clothes or toiletries as you will probably buy loads there for half-price.

Last time we wre there we all bought Oakleys as they are same in $ as £s over here.

They dont vary in price much as I dont think Oakley allow shops to discount them so best bet is to see what the shop throws in for free. Shop vouchers normally dont include Oakleys.

The best deal we got was at a shop across the road from Premium Outlets (cant remember its name). I think it was between Dolly's Stampede and a Publix. We bought 2 pairs and got 2 hard cases and another pair of sunglasses thrown in free.

I would agree Macys is great for bargains.

Johnny... you and me both! I now have four pairs! Oakleys are such good sunglasses, and being a golfer, we can get specific lenses!
As I've mentioned before, another good thing about Oakley sunglasses, is that you can get them repaired over here free of charge! I've had lenses that have scratched, and all you do is find a dealer here, ask for a box, and send them off! We've had a brand new pair of glasses returned before now.

I agree they are great, not that I like to pose in my Orange or Yellow pairs at all.......well sometimes perhaps ;)

Every time I visit Orlando, I stock up on Hilfiger jeans. The last time we went they cost me $30 a pair, which is a massive saving compared to the UK.

I have found the Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Nike stores to have the biggest bargains.
