Closing Time!

Well there goes the theory that the $500 CAF fee was going to be put to good use. The honeymoon phase of quick processing for ROFR and point transfers only lasted a few weeks.

Its been substantially faster the majority of this year.

Even now, processing is quicker than what we have seen over the years.

Accounts are created and points loaded the same day now vs that always taking phone calls to get it to happen so quickly.

It certainly seems to me it’s vastly improved.

Agree. They have always been known to fall very behind around holidays too and we just had one not long ago.

Our ROFR period was about 60% faster this time.
The wait time between Deed Published and Points into Account was 3.5 weeks last time. I'm getting impatient after 1 week. :stitch2: ... If I have points in my account in 3-4 days from now, I'll say that Disney Delays were cut off by 60% globally... Clearly the $500 CAF has value.

I would differentiate between ROFR and the post-recording transfer too.

ROFR is a contractual right Disney has and the seller is paying the $150 estoppel fee for that process which hasn’t changed. It does seem like ROFR has picked up for much of this year but it could get slower for reasons other than they’re just being slow. They might actually want more time to decide whether they want the contract. And it is their contractual right to take up to 30 days if they want to.

The post-recording transfer is different - that is merely an administrative thing and I don’t see why that should have greatly differing timelines absent a huge flood of resale contracts being transferred at the same time. I could be wrong but I don’t think we’ve heard any recent reports of extended time for the actual transfer to take place. Now, if that starts slipping to 3-4 weeks again, I would be much more critical.

Waiting for closing docs... Almost there... My wire money is burning a hole in my pocket! I can't believe after this whole process is done we're in with no more waiting. Totally worth the >50% discount over direct.

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere already, but what exactly happens between ROFR and closing docs being sent out? If it's waiting for an estoppel letter from Disney as some sources suggest, why is DVC Closings able to generate closing docs almost immediately after ROFR passes in a lot of these cases?
