Closing question?

Just passed ROFR and got closing docs! Sooo excited, this is my first contract!! BLT 200 (sept) $82pp. I am using fidelity and my question is; do they need my SS#? The closing company said no, but just wanted to check with the experts... I was also surprised the closing docs are only 2 pages?? I'm a little nervous to send the final payment to somewhere I can't "see". Thanks for all the great info.

I can't remember the SS question, but I would recommend sending docs back overnight so that you have a signature of receipt for you own records. But I wouldn't have any worries send that puppy off so you can move on, you still have 2-3 weeks of waiting

CONGRATS!!

You do not need to send your SS#. We just finished up our first DVC purchase (SSR, 230, Dec.) as well and since we paid cash we did not need to provide our SS#. The only down side was that we were trying to book a trip quickly and the travel date was rapidly approaching. When we called MS to get our member number early, they could not look up our account without a SS# on file. So, we had to wait for it to come in the mail. It all worked out in the end and we were able to book our vacation for the dates we wanted.

However, I have since been told that they can look up your account by using the contract number as well. If you are not is a hurry to book a trip right away then this will not matter to you.

By law you have to provide your SSN when you sell so I don't see what the big deal is. As far as sending the check, hundreds are sent to the DVC closing companies every month. If you are using any of the big four DVC Brokers you will be OK.
