I am going through the most frustrating experience of my life ... selling our house.

We had a tentative close date of the 12th ... then they said no way ... the 17th ... now they are saying for sure on the 21st.

I am going crazy. We really need to close on the house, we need the funds we are getting from sale.

Please, please, please send pixie dust our way and keep your fingers crossed for us that this deal goes ... on FRIDAY or SOONER!

Thanks!

Lots of pixie dust heading your way. I know how frustrating closings can be... my aunt is a paralegal who does closings almost every day! GOOD LUCK

Makes me glad that the closing dates around here are set at the time the purchase agreement is signed and unless something extraordinary comes up, isn't changed.

Best wishes! (It is probably a delay on the part of the bank though. I am sure your buyer really wants it over with as much as you do.)

Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh! NOW we are looking at Monday. Geeshy Peeshy. They want until Monday incase the underwriters come back with any "stipulations".

Thanks for the pixie dust though!

This guy is a flipper and he buys houses ... fixes them ... and sells them. He is sure it will all be ok ... they are all saying it will all be ok ... I won't be ok until we get the moola in our acount!

Yikes!

Good luck! Hope Monday works out.

Dont forget that it takes 3 days after they sign before the loan is actually funded. The borrower has that long to change their mind, so you wont get your money until mid week.

Nope ... they are wiring the money into our account the DAY of closing. We were told it would be wired (and available) that day.

Maybe the laws are different in different states?

WDWO

yep laws are different State to State. In Idaho we have about 24 hours for them to "record" the transaction but once both parties sign there is no backing out.

Doesnt always take that long but they say that to cover their butts.

Our buyers are doing their 'final walkthrough' tonight, we are supposed to sign papers tomorrow and it shoulc close thursday!

These putting off of closing dates is VERY stressful!

Pixie dust your way for it to get smoother!

That depends. A lot of lenders table fund and all you have to do is wait for the wire, which at most usually takes a few hours.

I have never been to a closing (and I've been to bunches of 'em) where it took that long to get funding. With the exception of it being a Friday, and/or issues arise, it's usually the same day you close.

(I'm speaking for Texas. We close at title companies)

ETA: Oops! I forgot this----> pixiedust:

We just closed on our house Friday. It was such a stressful time. Until those papers are signed & the money is in hand, it is so stressful! Our buyers were cash buyers, but we still worried until we had that money. Now we just need our new house finished so we can put the money into that house! :goodvibes

I hope your closing goes smoothly!!!! pixiedust:

Those actually make me more nervous!

I'd much rather have a lender,an escrow officer and me keeping track of the progress, than having a slip of paper from a bank verifying funds.

I know it's stressful for both the buyer and the seller, but you don't even want to be near me 24 hours before a closing!

I don't rest easy until I see that settlement statement and know that my client is protected. I'm always a bundle of nerves and end up with a lot of stressed out people calling me during the time when I'm stressed out too.
