Just wondering what the closest resorts to the parks are? I’m looking for the easiest and quickest transportation route to get to a park. GOing when it’s going to be packed and would like to minimize wait and travel times. Thanks!

The parks are spread across about 40 square miles, so there’s no resort that’s close to all of the parks.
Thanks, I realize this as we have been several times. We’re looking for easy access to a park as a starting point to help eliminate one long wait and travel time.

Breaking it down a bit:

The resorts that are physically close to parks tend to be in the deluxe or deluxe villa category. In the Magic Kingdom area, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower are closest, and all three offer monorail service to MK and Epcot. GF and Poly also have boat service to MK. Contemporary/BLT is within walking distance of MK. A little further away, Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek and the Fort Wilderness Campground have boat service to MK.

In the Epcot/DHS area, Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club have walking paths to Epcot and DHS and also boat service to both parks. Caribbean Beach and Riviera have Skyway service to Epcot, and you can walk to DHS from the Epcot station. The Swan and Dolphin are not Disney resorts, but they have walking paths and boat service to Epcot and DHS.

In the Animal Kingdom area, the Animal Kingdom Lodge/Kidani Village complex is closest, and there is bus service to all parks.

The Epcot area resorts are the most centrally located in terms of all four theme parks. What does your schedule look like? If you’re spending the majority of your time at the Magic Kingdom, you might want to look into the Magic Kingdom area resorts. If you’re planning on hitting everything, Epcot area resorts are probably your best bets.

Depends on which park you want to visit.

For MK, Contemporary is the closest walk and Grand Floridian is the closest monorail ride. There are direct boat rides from Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. And there's a boat loop for the Grand Floridian and the Poly to MK.

For Epcot, Beach Club is the closest walk.

For Hollywood Studios, Boardwalk is the closest walk.

For Animal Kingdom there is no walking that I'm aware of.... out of luck.

Generally speaking, if Epcot and HS are your primary interests, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin are all good bets.

MK - Contemporary/BLT are a short walk. The other monorail resorts are obviously close but not as quick and reliable as your own feet.

Epcot - Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Swan and Dolphin are all walking distance. You can also take a (slow) boat. Beach Club is closest, but they are all right there outside international gateway. CBR, Riviera, and Pop/AOA are fairly quick access with the Skyliner.

DHS - The previously mentioned Epcot resorts are all walking distance, with Boardwalk being the closest. They all have boat access, but it’s not quick. The Skyliner resorts get to DHS quickly, it being less than a 5 min ride from the main CBR station.

AK - Animal Kingdom Lodge is a fairly short bus away, but all resorts have bus access here.

Overall, I think the Epcot area resorts, particularly BWI/BWV provide the least transport time, provided you can do the walk, have fairly decent bus luck to MK/AK, and are spending a good chunk of time at DHS/Epcot.

There's also the monorail from TTC to Epcot. If you were doing primarily MK and Epcot, Poly/Contemporary/GF is a good option as you could walk or take a short monorail ride and transfer

OP be aware this takes a good chunk of time, especially if staying at GF or CR, although it should be a bit better now that you don’t need to clear security again at Epcot.

In terms of being in the middle of everything, the Epcot area resorts are the most centrally located between all the parks. So that would include Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin.

Have you chosen your park days? If you are going to MK most days, CR is your best bet in terms of proximity and ease to MK as you simply walk there. If you are going to EP/DHS most days, BC is closest to EP and BWI is closest (in terms of walking) to DHS. AKL is physically closest to AKL, but you still have to take transportation there, so not terribly convenient.

IMO, Boardwalk and BC/YC are among the most convenient because you can easily walk or boat to Epcot and DHS. You would still need to bus to MK and AK, but I find these resorts are pretty centrally located so the bus rides to the other two parks are still manageable.

Poly has the monorail to MK, and you can walk to TTC to get on the monorail to Epcot. Contemporary has a walking path to MK, and you can ride the monorail to TTC where you can transfer to the Epcot monorail. So these two are about tied for second most convenient, IMO.

AKL will be the closest resort to AK, but you'd still have to take a bus. No alternate transportation there.

What park do you spend most of your time at? If you love Epcot and the Disney Studios, and of the boardwalk area resorts are great. The Animal Kingdom is a pretty short bus ride away too. The longest ride would be to the Magic Kingdom.

If you love the Magic Kingdom, go with the Poly, the Grand Floridian, or the Contemporary. But note that the remaining 3 parks will take a bit to get to.

Or you could always plan a split stay. Do part of your trip at a Magic Kingdom area resort and another part at an Epcot resort.

Besides being able to walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail, the Poly has boat as well as monorail service to MK. The Poly monorail station and boat dock are near the center of the complex, so to minimize walking we ask for a room on the TTC side.

Guess I'm confused, if you realize there is no 1 resort that is closest to all the parks then you know the answer to your question all ready. You have to be more specific in what your goal is. Easy access to A park is no possible to answer. The answer is more than 1 resort. It all is based on the park you want to go to. If you want to only go to MK, then telling you BC is closest to a park won't do you a dang bit of good

Sorry!

Is Boardwalk the closest to two parks? If so, it's Boardwalk.
Eh, BWI is a few feet closer to HS
BC is a few feet closer to Epcot
So in the end it's a wash between BC and BWI
And YC is only a few feet more than those two
