Closest rental home with pets?

We are planning to go to Disney in September and take our 18 lb dog with us. I have been looking at all of the sites that rent vacation homes and allow pets, but I have no idea how far they are from Disney. Any suggestions? Thanks

We have always stayed with our dog at Windsor Hills. It's only about 15 minutes to the ticket & transportation center. AK was very close at 8 minutes to the parking lot from our driveway using sherbeth (sp?) Rd.

You can do a search on VRBO for condos and houses that allow dogs. Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Isle, Indian Creek, and the others in that basic area tend to be the closest/fastest transportation time.

We rented at Emerald Island with our dog in 2013. It's a good neighbourhood, and as close as any.

At the clubhouse, the receptionist told me they don't take dogs, but in that case the truth of it is that if you rent directly from the resort, those units don't take dogs, but for individual owners (our case), it's up to the owner.

As a pp said, go to VRBO and use pets as a filter. It cuts down your options considerably, but they're there.

Yes, I definitely think if you look on VRBO and filter to allow pets that you will come up with choices. I've used VRBO in the past and have had very good luck with finding great rentals (not in WDW, but elsewhere).
