Closest Rental car to SSR? And, is ME quicker than Alamo?

We are staying at SSR 11/20 - 11/25 and had rented an Alamo car from the airport. However, our Delta flight time has been changed twice :confused3 and now we'll be late coming in and we're thinking about ME from the airport and renting a car the next day somewhere near SSR. Would the Car Care Center be the best option - or is there somewhere in walking distance from SSR. Also, does it make sense at all to do this in terms of time savings (ME vs car rental) if we end up spending the same, or more money. Thanks!!!

for me, the glory in using DME is the luggage pick-up/delivery, so even if it were the same time/money, it's minus the luggage hassle, which makes it worth it, imo... as far as renting a car on property, the car care center is great 'cause they will send a shuttle to your resort to get you and if you return the car there, they will transport you back to wherever you're going (resort or park)... they truly make it easy!

Considering the horror stories of the lines at Alamo, my bet's on ME. LOL!

From SSR, Alamo is across the street at the Buena Vista Palace. Dollar is just up the street at the Grosevenor.

There is a VERY small ALamo/National rental at Buena Vista Palace, which is across the street from SSR. I tried to rent a car from them this past January. First, no one would ever answer the phone there, so I had to walk to the office just to talk to someone, who was chatting on a personal call on her cell phone for at least 5 minutes after I walked in the door. Then, they do not stock cars, so if you are going to rent from them, you need to book in advance.

I ended up using the car care center--the shuttle picked me up at 10:20 am at the check-in area, and I was back with the car to SSR at 11 am. They have so many more cars options and personnel that I would rent from them, and not bother with the one at the Palace.

You can avoid the lines by checking in on line, then when you get to the airport go directly to pick out your car and give the paperwork to the person at the booth on the way out.

We are in the same flight situation as you - we have a late arriving flight that Delta has made later. We chose to do just the opposite of what you are proposing. We are going to rent a car because we don't want to wait for our luggage until late into the night. With the new carry on rules, I want my luggage before I go to bed.

I use Hertz.

They have an office on 192 near Bob Evans and the original entrance to Disney. They will pickup and drop you off at your resort.

They are off site, but that is nice in that it is a short walk to their bus which there is always one waiting and if you are a gold card member you will go directly to your car.

We are now just using ME and picking up a car later . I just did Enterprise it was 45 min from Pick-up at POFQ until I hit Epcot to meet the family.Return was just as easy.

We have a Dollar rental booked for Dec at the Gosv.
