We prefer to just take a taxi to the rental agency than the free shuttle. Looking for which ones are the closest. Thank you.

I assume you mean after your cruise?

National, Enterprise and Alamo share a building near CT 1.

But in reality, you can pick anyone of the others like Hertz or Budget about 2.5 miles away. Even the furthest one AVIS is only 4 miles away!

Yes, afterwards.

Do you know if that Budget is CC5 or ZC5? guessing by the address it is the second one?? Thank you.

Budget is CC5. We always use Budget and take a cab over there after our cruise to pick up the rental car. It costs about $15-20 with tip.

Sorry, folks! The map you shared is dated! Things change often around here!
As I stated earlier, IMO distance is not really a big factor here. It is only 4 miles from Terminal 8 to Avis for example.

correct ... I did update the map and on my link you should get the revised edition . . . if Photobucket is playing nice . . . (yep the copy you see is from what someone saved a while back ... not MY current. No hard feelings, but that's why the picture is out of date)

Whether A/N/E is closer than Hertz depends on how you measure ..... there CAN be times when getting into the new A/N/E location could be a problem. During a recent "event" hosted by the port, the backup to get into that area was over a mile long (I tried to get in and decided on a drive by) .... the "tower" area and the restaurant row are being pushed as hosts to art shows, fish festivals and the like. When these happen on a weekend forget about getting to A/N/E location!

and that's a good update open water so you don't mind if I use it do you?

So is there still a shuttle from the national location to the Disney area or is this a walking distance,

Yes, same blue shuttles as always shared by the three partner companies!

You cannot walk there from CTs 10, 8, 6 or 5. because of the draw bridge, distance, lack of sidewalks and a long fence! Here is an updated map.

Is it significantly faster to take a cab rather than the free rental car shuttle? What about if one person took a cab to go check out the rental car and then came back to pick the rest of our group up at the cruise terminal? Would that be too difficult? Would it be better for all of us to stay together (there are 7 of us)?

We have always found it to be quicker to take a cab than the shuttle. The added benefit is that you usually beat all the people on the shuttle to the rental car facility. The lines can be quite long but Budget, at least, handles it well. Sometimes you can run into problems with the availability of cars and you might have to wait for people returning cars to the facility that are arriving for their cruise. If you are a party of 7, I would probably send one person ahead to get the rental car and come back and pick you up. It would be much easier than trying to get all of you and your luggage to the rental car facility. We are a party of 4 so we all go over to the facility and leave from there.

Definitely leave the other 6! There's no reason to haul everyone with you.

But just in case you're going during winter months, make sure everyone has paid attention to the weather disembarkation day and has dressed appropriately. Last Jan we disembarked to nasty cold winter weather, and so many people were turning blue because they assumed "Florida". We had jeans and puffy coats and we were still very cold while waiting for DH who went off to get the car.

A couple of weeks ago we were off of the Fantasy and had rented from Enterprise. As we were walking out of customs, we saw the Enterprise shuttle leaving (Dang!!) but continued to the assigned spot (Space 11 I think), and there was already a second shuttle waiting. I think that there were 2 other ships in port that day.

We didn't have any wait at all and the rental lot is really close (per the map provided by OpenWaters above)
