closest places to buy organic foods/produce

anyone know if publix has an organic food department (groceries, produce, eggs, etc.). if so, is there a nice selection, or just a few items?

are there close "health food" stores?

yes publix DOES have an organic food selection but each Publix is different on what it carries. "my" Publix in Jacksonville definately has organic produce & milk & I think eggs but also has a whole area/department dedicated to organic shelfed items. I have discovered that the Publix near the Gaylord Palms (off of International Dr S near Hwy192) seems to have a bigger selection of overall groceries than the Publix near the Premier Outlet mall (I think the rd it is off is Vineland). Maybe you can call them to see what kind of selection they carry. Their Customer Service is suberb so I think they would be willing to discuss it with you.

we left Florida 17 years ago, and i'd forgotten just how great publix's service was. we missed them for years!

anyone ever visit any nearby healthfood store? think i'd have to drive into orlando to get to one?

Hi

Last August my family and I went to:

Chamberlain's Market and Cafe on 4960 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando
and we also went as far as Winter Park to the Whole Foods there.
Whole Foods is located at: 1989 Aloma Ave. Winter Park.

We were so shocked at how small the Whole Foods was. Because of this there was obviously not much selection. I found the organic produce section sorely lacking. But all the basics were there milk, eggs, juice etc. We are spoiled I think in California. There are so many organic farms in our area that the abundance of organic produce is phenomenal.
