Closest Hotel to Disneyland for family of 6

I would like to stay as close to Disneyland as possible with the shortest walk. We have four kids 2, 5, 8, and 10, and after a long day, I don't want to hear whining because they are too tired to walk back to the hotel. IT is harder because we are a family of 6 and only want one room. What are the closest hotels and which one is the nicest of those? I am talking Good Neighbor Hotel. The Disney Resorts are way too expensive! Thanks!

There are several to choose from on Harbor Blvd, just across the street from the crosswalk. To get an idea of what is available, go to this map:

Of those located right across the street, I've stayed in the Park Place Inn, Desert Inn, and Howard Johnson's. All are decent and will accomodate your family. I also have four kids all of which are approximately the same ages as yours. You can get good deals at any of the hotels depending on when you are going to be there. Park Place Inn and Desert Inn will sleep all six of you in beds. Accomdations are basic but a small continental breakfast is included with each. With HoJo's, you can get a larger room to accomodate everyone but this room isn't advertised anywhere. You'll have to call and inquire. I think it is a queen suite or something like that. There is no complimentary breakfast at HoJo's. You'll also have a slightly longer walk. Go to www.tripadvisor.com and read some reviews on each. I liked Park Place Inn and would stay there again.

Try the Anaheim Desert INN & Suites. I know they have suites big enough for 6-10 people and are right across the street from DL.
