Closer to AKL: Crossroads or Kissimmee?

On our last visit we stayed at OKW and frequented the Crossroads/Apopka-Vineland Rd. for grocery shopping and off-site restaurant visits. This time we are staying at AKL. Is the Kissimmee shopping area closer to AKL? Or will it be just as convenient to use the Apopka-Vineland Rd. area again?

If the Kissimmee area is closer to AKL, what grocery stores and off-site restaurants are close by?

As you're leaving AKL you hit a red light - turn right there and you are about 1/2 mile from 192 (West Gate area). There are no signs - you have to trust me (it does show on the map). There's some fast food and convience shopping there. Turn left on 192 and you'll find at least one and sometimes two of everthing there is to offer. If you do go out that way keep and eye open so you can find your way back. No signs that way either.
