I made this reservation for my wife and I to go to the Disney 50th Anniversary events, but she's had a vacation black-out at work over the 11th & 12th. I put in a couple of waitlists, but I know that there is probably no way they are going through.

Disney's Boardwalk Villas
Deluxe Studio - Standard View (Sleeps 5)
Check-in: Friday, October 8th, 2021
Check-out: Tuesday, October 12th, 2021

As such, I wanted to see if there was any rental interest rather than waiting and then possibly missing out. This is a high price per point because the standard view require fewer points, however, there aren't really rooms available anywhere on Disney Property for these dates at any cost. I just checked the Dolphin and it's $475 a night (+taxes +resort fee, Swan might be an okay deal for these dates though if you want to compare). Coronado Springs is the only thing I see under $400. I do see some weird Outer Bldg - Garden Room at BWV for $1,275 a night (OMG! And it only sleeps 2? WTH? They are honeymoon cabins! - Thanks wishicouldgomoreofte!).

Anyway, yes it's a lot, but we were planning to travel on this not rent it so we have to make it worthwhile to let it go. 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom starts on 10/01 and Food & Wine Fest should be in full swing. As of today all the parks are still available on the days in question but do **make sure you are making your park reservations as well**. You don't want to wait too long and have a hotel and tickets but no parks access. Hopefully, maybe things will relax some by then but better to plan for the worst.

I can do payment through Paypal or Venmo and I think I have an old rental template around I can dig up and we can sign if you like, so you have some specific written terms. I'd be doing the rental as non-refundable, but I am fine about changing the reservation guests later (same terms apply to any new guests). If you are worried about hurricanes or COVID resurgence, etc, I'd strongly suggest travel insurance, I can make you a receipt if needed for that purpose. FYI, there is definitely no way you'll be able to modify or add/remove dates, things are crazy booked up.

Please PM me with any questions. or post and I'll PM you If you don't have access please refer to the sticky about using the PM feature at the top of the board. I've copied the details below as well, your account must be 24 hours old and have ten posts, not in the Rent/Trade.

Thank you,
Peter K.

Very interested! I’m unable to Pm. Can you PM me??

Hi OhSuzieQ!

It looks like I may have misunderstood the restrictions on PM (sorry I haven't used the board in a while).

Seems like maybe we both have to meet the minimum post count to be able to converse that way. I thought I'd still be able to message you since I have over 10 posts. If you go to the top of the rent trade forum there is a sticky (yellow post at top) that addresses how to get access to the PM feature.

Basically, as long as your account is older than 24 hours you should be able to make ten posts in the technical support/test forum to meet the 10 post limit. You just have to wait a minute between posts. Give that a try and then lets try again, I'll post in there as well to make sure it's not on my end.

Copying in the instructions from the sticky in case anyone else needs them:

The DIS provides a private conversation system (PM) for correspondence between posters. Since email and phone numbers are NOT ALLOWED to be posted on the Rent/Trade board or transmitted by any other means including posting on other DIS forums or Profile Posts, we suggest that posters use this private and secure conversation system to convey such information helpful in rental transactions.

You must be registered for 24 hours and have a minimum of ten (10) posts on non-DVC Rent/Trade Boards in order to use this system. We would encourage you to go to our Technical Support/Test Forum where you can reach that minimum easily. Please do not do so in the rental threads on this board as those posts will not count towards the required minimum.

Once you have reached 10 posts it can take an hour or so for the system to recognize the post count. It will NOT be an immediate response to the 10th post. You can see how many posts you have that will count towards 10 by hovering your cursor on your username and check the box at the lower left where it says 'Messages:'. If that number is lower than 10, you still need additional posts.

To contact another poster, click on their username and in the pop-up box, click on ‘Start a Conversation’. To open your ‘Inbox’, hover over ‘Inbox’ to view the recent contents and click on a new conversation to open or click on ‘Start a New Conversation’. Personal information (email, etc.) may be securely conveyed using this conversation system.

EMAILS AND PHONE NUMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN PUBLIC POSTS ON THIS BOARD OR BY ANY OTHER MEANS EXCEPT THE DIS CONVERSATION SYSTEM (PM).

It may also be that your account is not 24 hours old that's the issue. I'd still plan to go and do the 10 messages, but I suspect you still won't be able to PM (or be PM'ed) until ~9 at night when you registered yesterday (24HRS).

Ha! Hey Jeskova26 :)

I'm working on her, but I still don't like the odds. We'll see if the missus gets more flexible as the listing is out there longer, but definitely don't stop looking. She's still ready to just travel on it and lose the last night if we have to at this point.

Peter - we are interested! We are a group of 6 adults and 7 kids - so we are looking for more points/rooms at BoardWalk or BeachClub for a second/third room depending on what we find.

Hi dperez56!

I can't PM (Private Message) you until your account is 24 hours old and you have ten posts. If you look a bit higher in the thread there are instructions for how to post into the Technical Support/Test Forum that will let you hit the minimum count. It might take a bit since it restricts how frequently you can post and might require more time between posts since your account is new.

I can tell you that if you are looking for BWV (BoardWalk Villas) or BCV (Beach Club Villas) you'll definitely need to find existing reservations, because this time of year is all booked up at most DVC properties and especially these two. Finding more points won't do you too much good unless you are willing to look at a different time of year (like planning out for next spring instead).

If you get a chance make those additional posts and I can try and help you figure out the best plan for what you are attempting. Figuring out the best blend of rooms and such depending on how the adults to kids break out, etc.

Thanks!
Peter
