THANKS VERY MUCH TO ALL RENTERS AND THOSE WHO INQUIRED. All points expiring 11/30/11 are now gone. Look for my new post for more points available into 2012 and 2013.
Update Thursday, Sep 29 noon:
If you hurry, you may be able to get 6 nights checking in Oct 30, 1-BR at AKV, first 4 in a standard and move for 2 to a savanna.
I have checked many many dates and there is almost no availability for a multi-day stay through 11/30/11 except:
Oct 23-27
Oct 30-Nov 5
Nov 14-19
Nov 27-30
SSR followed by OKW has the most availability, then AKV. The others are quite tight. There are a few scattered single nights here and there. 1-BR in general is your best shot. Please act quickly if interested. I always have several people with requests outstanding, and it's first-come, first-served.
Since DVC members can cancel 30+ days out w/o penalty, sometimes units open up just over a month ahead.
I have rented many times during the last 5-6 years, mostly through Disboards, and have numerous references; I am an ebay seller ("efs") with 650 positive feedbacks and no negatives.
If you are prepared for me to reserve immediately if there is availability, please include ALL the following in your PM, without which I can't reserve; I will let you know either way. Don't worry if you are on the fence, since I can cancel w/o penalty, because these points are expiring anyway in less than 2 months. For normal situations, cancellation less than 30 days out restricts your point usage.:
1. Names of all guests (at least one adult per unit) and ages of children
2. Address
3. Phone number
4. If you want Dining Plan, and if so which one (I must reserve this and prepay for you 48+ hours in advance, at the time it's set up, with my CC or yours or your Disney gift card). This can be done later if you like.
5. If you want Magical Express to/from MCO airport (flight info can come later) one or both ways
6. If you want a specific location in the resort (near pool, high floor, near elevator, etc.). These are not guaranteed, and the earlier in the day you check-in, the more likely you'll get what you want.
7. If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, family reunion, etc.
8. EXACT DATES
9. If you are willing to split your reservation between 2 types of units or two resorts. Disney will move your luggage.
10. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices. The more the better for close-in reservations.
If you have flexibility, please let me know. During the fall it's very hard to find units, as the Food and Wine Festival is going and the weather is gorgeous. Many units are gone 10+ months out.
I greatly prefer email to bookswin@aol.com, as my Disboards PM box keeps filling up. Include your phone number and I can call to answer questions and give advice.
If you are new to DVC renting, I will send you a ~17-page doc I have written up detailing the system and my simple rental policies. Thanks.
