Just stopping by to say hi from WDW! We are having a mostly great time, especially once I get my caffeine flowing in the morning :rolleyes1 Some days have seemed a little busier than others. Yesterday at MK was not bad at all :confused3 Today at Epcot was a little busier. The weather has been gorgeous, not a drop of rain. It's a tad warm though, we no longer need jackets, even at night. I did catch a few dismeet pics, Cindee..stop posting horrible pictures of me, and you need to PM me that picture of Jayden. I'm very curious! I had so much fun meeting everyone! I wish I'd made it to China a little earlier so I could've chatted a little more with everyone. Kristine, that picture of the boys and Tessa is soooo funny! I did not think Luke would actually get jealous but he really did! Hopefully we will see Dallas again this trip. They really do get along very well. I need sleep. I think we're off to MK tomorrow and dinner at Ohana. Lily has been a little angel. The other 3 have had their moments...Lily's favorite ride so far is TOT. Yes, I have the photo. And yes, she is 40" (in most shoes, not so sure about her chucks).

HOooray everything is going great! I wish I could be away from home right now, and at Disney somewhere anywhere in the world! I can't wait until everyone gets home. I love reading trip reports and seeing pictures! Have a blast the rest of your trip!

Hello Hello!!!

I have a quick "What would you sew" question- We are only doing a few days at the parks on this trip and we have customs for everything except our day at Hollywood Studios....what characters or themes should we consider? I have been thinking Toy Story...or maybe Wall E....but I still love whoever did the original Pluto Poodle skirt too....so many choices! We have three kiddos- 2 boys and a girl and I would like them all to match in some way .

Also a big HELLO to the poster from Silvis, IL. I grew up in Geneseo, IL and went to Augie before moving out near Iowa City!:goodvibes

I would go with something from Pixar. They have that super cute Pixar Parade. There are lots of cute characters that you do not see often in the parade. Are your kids Star Wars fans? You could do SW theme.

We are actually going to spend three days at DHS (we are going for two weeks.) My girls picked The Incredibles, Toy Story and Monsters Inc. They also have a special outfit for the Playhouse Disney breakfast. I have a feeling this will be the last year for DD almost 5 :( I am not sure how cool PHD will be anymore.

Here are few more things. :)

The first is our arrival outfits. I used a little artistic license on the POP colors. It is cool because my Dad is Pop so the girls can wear these on his Bday. The skirt is the flounce which I cannot say enough about!

Feb12001.jpg

Feb12002.jpg

The next is a recycled Mary Poppins. The strips were from DD4's dress last year. She outgrew the dress and got jello all over the bodice. I cut the dress apart and reworked it for DD2. I used the size three bodice and should not have. It is too big and DD will have to wear something under it.

Feb12003.jpg
Feb12004.jpg

This is DD all time favorite dress! LOL DD4 thought it was hysterical and it has really grown on me. I was going to make DD4 a new MI outfit but she said she liked her skirt a lot from last year so I just did a new tank top.

Aimee those are friggin awesome! Your work never lets me down. I looooove the Monsters dress. hehee I would totally wear that myself!

Thanks Kell! It actually looks cuter on. I giggled when I made it. If I sew and giggle that is a good thing! :) When the babes has it on Mike's ears stick out. I have Monsters Inc bling coming in the mail. I cannot wait to get it!

Thanks again. :)

OH my! Now I can't wait to see that picture. hehe super adorable! Ooh I love me some bling too!

I just finished cutting the pieces to Georgia's Elvis skirt. its a double layered ruffled twirly skirt. I figure the hardest part was ruffling, just because I am lazy and hate to ruffle, since I have to do it by hand. hahaha So I told her she can just wear her birthday skirt tomorrow with a new Valentines shirt I got her this afternoon that just happens to match PERFECTLY!

Here are a couple quick shots of my DD in her Valentine's Day outfit. The jumper top is a little too big on her but I guiess that is better than being too small, right? LOL.

th_1heartfront.jpg

I think I should have added the red piping right under the bodice too, oh well. LOL.

th_1heartback.jpg

Close up of the embroidered hearts on the pants.....I added the word "LOVE" next to each one too. Hard to tell in this picture.
tha is really adorable! I think I may try a simply sweet top for Nikki! If I get the right material I think it will look like it is ok for a 9 yr old:thumbsup2 Then add some easy fit pants which are the best!!!!!!
This is an adorable outfit!

Hi Friends,

Today was not a good sewing day. I messed up the very small mickey head on the back of DS safari shirt. It looks bad. I didn't get the curves right and it doesn't look very round at all. If I find the new fabric I will make a new one and try again.

Also, is anyone going to be in Disney from March 4-11? I just wanted to say hi really quick as I don't get to meet many people. I think I will be leaving just as Aimee arrives.
You can try using your seam ripper to take the part you don't like out. Some one said that to me and I have done it almost every time I applique ad I feel much better knowing i can do that! LOL

Here is a peek at my meet pics. The rest you will have to wait until I get everything loaded into Photobucket so I can start my TR

This is when things were going well...

And then it almost got ugly...but the boys decided to be gentlemen and share Tessa's love

:lmao: :lovestruc OMG those are great pictures! Look at Tessa with her men!
That is too precious. I had a "best boy" from the age of two. He witnessed my big sister being mean to me once and he came running to my defense shouting "DON'T YOU BE MEAN TO MY WIFE! I LOVE HER!!!" He was all of four!

alas...we didn't get married...broke up when we were seven...:sad1: but I know he still carries a torch for me...his little daughter has my middle name...a coincidence? I think not...
that is funny! It reminds me on Nikki yesterday was her 3rd grade concert and she was in heaven she was next to her best friend right in the front and on the other side was her little boyfriend!!!!! It was hysterical watching them on stage. I will post pictures in a bit they are downloading now.

My daughter is asking for a disney custom. I am really stumped. She doesn't like appliques on T shirts or jeans and wears a sz 10/12 girls. Our trip is late Nov early dec so weather wise the dress I had looked at that she liked on YCMT is out. Is there a long sleeve peasant top with gaucho pattern anywhere in big girls? I stink at adapting a sz 10 pattern bigger, would rather larger like a small womens cut down.
Thank you!!
what about something you can layer? YCMT.com has some tween stuff. I have also found their stuff runs big. Also they are easy to upsize. Nikki is a 10 in tops so I can easily lengthen them.

Here are a couple of photos from our trip.

We all had a great time, and Leighanna got LOTS of attention from all the customs I made.

She even got picked to be in the Flag Retreat ceremony.

I still have two more memory cards to go through, and those have some photos from the Disboutique meet.
What beautiful pictures! She sure does look like she is having a blast!!! I LOVE the zebra outfit! you have me rethinking what I want to do with that material! I was going to make that swoopy skirt (i can't remember the name of it right now but I think Heather made a Buzz version)but now I may make some kind of top and pants!

Mom and Heather said it was fairly empty up until the chearleaders came! Then, it got crazy!

I love the pictures, I can't wait to see more!!!
Gotta love a bunch of screaming cheerleaders! LOL god knows I am with one all day! :lmao:

Ugh.... OK just have to have a mini vent non sewing related. (sorry) I just got off the phone with Ex-dh (soon to be) Can you believe it will be a year next month. Lately I have been really sad and depressed about the whole thing. On Georgia's birthday it was super hard since we did it together. but we played nice for the Peach. But it just made it that much more difficult you know playing happy family then going to different homes. Just sucks, specially since I was not the one who wanted this split. Even though I know its for the best, doesnt make it any easier. Tomorrow is the Special person's day at school, she picked her dad. Which I think is great. Because I am here and I get to do the school things with her so its nice he is taking the time off to do this with her. But just another "happy unfamily family" moment. Then they are gonna go home to his home. In which I do not have a problem with because she needs to see her dad. That has nothing to do with me being sad. I wish he could spend time with her during the week. My sad comes from being alone. I hate it. and Im not looking for anyone, but at the same time I dont know what to do with myself. These long weekends kill me. Nothing to do with Valentines day as an adult I never celebrated it myself (I think love should be daily not just one day) she has monday off too. My roomie is out of town so no distraction there, and all my friends (the few I have locally) are off with their special people. Just makes me sad.

Ok mini vent over...sorry for being a whinner. Back to cutting and sewing!

Oh those are GREAT! The Mike W is perfect!!!!!!! HUM would it be odd for a grown woman to wear a big green shirt with one eye on it to WDW! LOL

have you guys seen these? I love them and think they are so cute. I can't wait to get down to Disneyland to find them. I dont know how long they have been out but I just came across them on the DL thread. Some on there do not like them. but hehe I do! totally do!
I haven't seen them but they are adorable! Kyle would flip for them!

WOW! They are great! What pattern did you use for the POP skirt? I need to get one like that!

The Mary Poppins is so unique! My D5 would die for that dress if she saw it! We know how she loves MAry Poppins! You make such original dresses.

And the The Monsters INC!!! Oh my goodness, is that not the most original and adorable idea ever?!! Just too cute!!

And the finished product is this:
th_P2110155.jpg

That is soooo cool! You did a great job! I also am a sheet/shower cutain/place mat user! I have a great shower curtain I bought for my old house...it is white with great flowers all over. It was $40...I CAN'T throw it out! I plan on making a sun dress for Katie and a skirt for me for Easter...uh...I better get busy!

Attempting button-holes can be DANGEROUS to ones health and well-being!

I also hate button holes! I swear I will complete an outfit and then stare at it for days before I get the nerve up to put holes in it!

Coming out of partial lurkdome. . . .

So some of you may remember I said a few months ago that DH and I were starting to try for our first baby. . . well my period should have started days ago and I took a pregnancy test this morning (5:30am!!) and then another to be sure it was right, and they both showed up with two pink lines. We are waiting to tell the people we know until it is confirmed at the doctors, and some possibly until after the 12 week mark, but I HAVE to tell someone. SO I thought this group, with all of its love, support and prayers for one another, would be the place to come to. I am excited and so nervous at the same time. Your thoughts, prayers or good vibes would be very much appreciated. Six years ago next month I was diagnosed with cancer and being alive, let alone being able to conceive, is truly a miracle.

I am just praying for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Thanks for letting me share

I am so happy for you! Babies are such miracles! And I know you count those blessings along with others everyday!

Beatutiful!

All of them are soooo cute! Thanks for sharing!

So I was thinking this morning that maybe instead of just posting a few random pics and post maybe I should let you guys get to know me... Hello! I'm Tina I am a stay-at-home mom to a 2 year old DD and a wifey. I currently live in Silvis IL. But was raised in Virginia beach Where I meet my hubby when I was working as a Hair Stylist. We ended up moving to Longveiw TX for a year before coming to IL. I would say I like it here but that would be a lie! I have not adjusted well with people or the area. Which has put a damper on my moods! It is very lonely not knowing anyone or having Family around. So I am very excited to be going to WDW in march with my family, parents, and my brother and his family! I have been sewing off and on since I was in middle school. I am not great by any means but my DH family is very impressed with my ability to look at something and then remake it. My family has always been crafty so to me its just another thing? I have a goal to work out and sew and keep my house spotless:lmao: and be the best mom and wife I can be but untill I figure out how to make my body do what my mind wants I am just here. Ok so neways! I just love that I found this board it keeps me excited and a place to feel at home. Thank you for letting me be a part of your group!

I just mailed my niece and nephew a box of clothes for WDW and thought dang why didn't I take pictures first? Well I will have lots of pics when we get back. Till then I have 2 girly pirate outfits to make, 1 pink minnie dress, lots off bows and stuff. Channel me some energy to get it done I have been fighting a cold and don't feel like doing anything! Ok well I think that is enough for one day.

Welcome! You will not find a better group to hang out with! And yes...WE NEED PICTURES!

Tom! It looks like you guys had lots of Pixie dust all around!

Now I know...I should have made a custom for my Dad to get him in the Flag Retreat! Not the kids! LOL!

I am so sorry! My BFF is going thru the same thing too...she started selling Papered chef just to have something to take up her time when the kids are at their dad's house. But she is still lonely too.

My mother sent me THIS LINK I thought you guys would be interested in. Check out page 2, sock monkey fans!

Love all the valentine's day outfits: so cute!

I am in total awe of everyone's creations!

I started and finished a flouncy skirt for my daughter last night. It is her Valentine's skirt. I didn't get to take a picture this morning, but promise to this afternoon. It took me a LONG time to sew it. Partly because I am not all that confident in my sewing yet. Partly because I was using my new machine and I am still getting used to it.

Wow! Thank you all so much. :)

Haganfam- You know DD4 has not realized that is part of her dress yet!:lmao: She thinks I made another for her baby sister. OMG I will be in so much trouble.

I am not going to lie I LOVE Mike. Sometimes ideas do not pan out and then sometimes they do. I am so glad this one worked. You know I might have to do family tees. I am trying to find away to get my DH is a few customs. He is not hearing it. LOL I should just make tee shirts and then pack his bags. He will not have a choice!

The pattern for the polka dot skirt is CarlaC's flounce. I love it. It is super easy to make and really quick. I think it is a great pattern for everyone know matter what you "skills" are.

That is so funny! It is very creative of you to re-use the old one like that. At least all of that hard work can stick around for a while!

My DH is the same way! I printed him out a tigger iron on that says Daddy and I think that is as close as I am going to get. :tigger:

I am going to have to get that pattern. My daughter wants a "twirly" skirt and I was looking for something quick and easy. I just wasn't sure which one to get. That one looks pretty "twirly." :rotfl:
