HELP!!!!!!!!!

What can you do if you lose your elastic inside the casing short of taking the casing out, getting the elastic and doing it all over again??

I can't believe I did that! And here I was happy I didn't have to take can seams out today.

Oh no! That has happened to me. I was getting ready to sew the two sides together and one let go and of course it only went in about 2 inches - just far enough so I couldn't get ahold of it. I think I spent more time trying to get it back out than I did pulling the whole thing out and redoing it. Sorry I have no advice! :confused3

We are now over the temp!!!! :cool1: Attikus had a good night, we stayed home today. I like to wait 24hrs after no temp to make sure. He was smiling and laughing tonight. We even had family movie night and he thought he would join in. That made a crowded bed!:crowded: I think he ate half a bowl of cheerios. He won't eat baby food, but have discovered he will eat people food.:confused3 Thank you all for the prayers, it's so nice to have my happy little boy back!:goodvibes

So glad to ehar that he is better! Wyatt was like that with baby food. We went pretty much straight from nursing 100% to bananas, avocado and cheerios. He just liked being able to feed himself.

These are all great Wendy! Where did you guys find the horse corduroy? I really think that Megan needs a flouncy skirt out of that!

Finally, I found the cord for my camera and could upload some pictures.

You are right, the bow just nails it. I can just picture Becca in that - I think she will adore it!! Oh and to think of her hamming it up with the Steps!! FUN!

Still having serger issues - will I ever figure this thing out? Can anyone drop by and set the tensions for me????:rotfl: or would you be willing to just tell me what you have each tension set at? I have the singer from walmart....on thick knit, it seems to work great - but on regular fabric, its sooooo loose:confused3

I was going to tell you how I have mine set, but I realized that we have different machines. Mine is the Brother from Wal-Mart.

I can't believe that's your first crayon roll-up! I love the Wiggles shirts! That eiffel tower looks very fun. I'm going to keep that idea in mind for a school vacation project with the kids.

I love this soooo much! I REALLY wanted to make Jayden and her BFF dress in "casual" Anastasia and Drizella for my birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fair (Lily will be wearing something Cinderella) but her BFF is leaving for West Palm earlier in the day. :sad2: How dare she mess up my birthday dinner? :rotfl2: My 2 year old niece will be there, but she is all about Cinderella too. Anyone want to come to my birthday dinner and bring a stepsister? :lmao:

ME, ME, ME!!! My birthday is 2/10 and you have no idea how much I'd love to be at WDW with all of you guys! Megan would love to dress up with Jayden too.

Back at Halloween someone posted a picture of their little girl wearing the cutest pirate outfit. She was wearing a white peasant top, a corset with a pirate skirt over a pink petti-skirt. Could this person please repost that picture? I would like to copy it for Jenna, but I'm not sure how to do the corset. Please Please Please?

So happy to hear he's better! Those smiles must have been so wonderful to see!

Here are 2 outfits I made for Elizabeth....

Those are great! LOVE the cord A-line! So sorry your DH is sick. My DD(9), Lizzy, who is going to Disney with me in 8 days is sick and she's not a good patient. Maybe this will give her some immunity down there? She's better today thankfully and didn't miss any school which is great because she's going to miss school for our trip.

Finally, I found the cord for my camera and could upload some pictures.
th_P1190148.jpg
SO cool!!!! She is going to LOVE that!

On the camera cord thing.....I bought a memory card a few weeks ago and it came with a little card reader about the size of the card with a USB plug. It is so convenient to use-no cord-no need to have the camera battery charged. I was telling a friend and she wanted one-I found they had at Wal-Mart for under $10 and they had them for all types of cards.

I felt like such an idiot last night. I was making one of CarlaC's skirts and I used the safety pin on both ends like I normally do. I'd sewn in one side and then went to take the pin out of the other side to sew it in place when I dropped the elastic and lost it in the casing. I tried to feed it back through with no success, so I took our the part on the left where I'd sewed in one side earlier and missed the elastic before I finished ripping my seam out, so now the elastic is free floating in the casing. I ended up just taking the whole casing aparat and starting over. Very frustrating. I know better than that. Needless to say I lost some time dealing with the elastic and didn't quite finish off the skirt last night.
I've done the same thing!

Well, what is it a year later and I finally made a crayon roll up! Here it is:

That is probably all my pictures for now! LOL!
Everything is so great! Love the Dorothy & Henry T's. That Eiffel Tower is so cool!

:lmao:

a LOT! :lmao: I cut out an applique for a shirt for Seth, grabbed the shirt out of the sack (I had to go to 2 stores to find an adult small red Jerzees tee shirt) unfolded it and looked at the back and there are 3 big holes in the back of the shirt! So it looks like I'm running back to Michael's today. It was their last one so I'm going to have to try another Michael's.

If you make me the dress I'll be a stepsister! :rotfl2:

I get so tired of stuff wrong with tshirts! Either they are wonky, have holes are have a big ole chocolate stain where some kid touched it!

Jessica everything looks great. If Jenna was younger I would get you to do her one of those Wiggles shirts. She was all about the Wiggles when she was younger. That Eiffel Tower is very cute.

If the kids were only still young! The memories!

I love the Wiggles music but we never really watched the show. I don't know why. Lin didn't care for any of it. :sad2:

That Eiffle Tower is COOL! Did ya eat it?

Of course we ate the Eiffle Tower! Dallas was ready to eat it before it was done! He didn't eat all of it so has been bugging me to already this morning about eating it.

I am not sure if this photo will post, hope it does! If not maybe you can click on it atleast.

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd149/jhaml/IMG_2270-1.jpg

I stole it from Jeanne, I think she has the brother serger though so not sure how it will match up with the settings #'s. Sorry, I can't help you any more then that. I thought mine was pretty good but then you mentioned how loose some of yours were and I noticed mine looked more loose on the back side now. I have never much worried about it.

I have 4 crayon roll-ups on my to-do list, actually 2 twistable crayon and 2 twistable colored pencil. I'm scared, mainly of getting the measurements right. I actually almost started on them last night but didn't. Your Wiggles shirts are amazing! I can't believe those little dots on Dorothy! I just don't know how you do it Jessica! :worship: :worship: :worship: Luke was asking about his friend Dallas the other day! That Eiffel tower is cool!

Well, my yellow dots were a bit wonky! I am not good with 1/4 inch seams or following directions so I decided to cut off two spaces for crayons to make sure it stayed shut well! I know you'll do fine, just go bigger then you think! And well, write down your measurements instead of trying to remember like me! :sad2: Makes for a not so long piece and makes my carefully placed cuts to get WallE in the right place off a bit then! But I know what I did now and won't do it again! :thumbsup2

I know, I have meant to make one forever!

Make sure you register her birthday with Disney ahead of time and bring her birth cert.

I saw on the news that they got rid of having to use the gift card ON your actual birthday for WDW at least. Although I'm sure Ash is going to find something (BBB???) to blow it on that day!!!

Oh, yep, I think the laws got in the way of having to use it that day, since gift cards can't expire in most states.

Hi All,
Still having serger issues - will I ever figure this thing out? Can anyone drop by and set the tensions for me????:rotfl: or would you be willing to just tell me what you have each tension set at? I have the singer from walmart....on thick knit, it seems to work great - but on regular fabric, its sooooo loose:confused3

I think Teresa might have the singer, but I couldn't lift her picture. Non photobucket user! :snooty: But

1 4 7 8 were the #'s closest to the bottom. i can't see if there is a mark somewhere on it to know what it was set at the mark. Of course, I hope Teresa comes along and reads this because the discussion was about rolled hems, so she might set it differently!

I love the Step Sister dress! Somehow I didn't get it in my quotes! Becca will LOVE it!

i also took a picture of the princess window at DL with the half and half dress!

I made my DD a T to wear for our arrival at the Polynesian:
DSC_0288.jpg

And these PJ's weren't even on my to do list but I couldn't resist the fabric at $2/yd at JoAnn's. And DD was feeling lousy so I hoped they would cheer her up.
DSC_0290.jpg
DSC_0293.jpg

At first I was going to use different characters in the letters but there were only 3 characters. Then I decided to stick with just Pooh since it was the word Pooh and he is Lizzy's favorite. I'm happy I went with that.
DSC_0292.jpg

And here's the Simply Sweet that I only cut one skirt piece for instead of 2. I hope I have time to make another one as the one wonky Mickey ear is bugging me too.

It's all so pretty. Pj's usually cheer Jenna up too. Hopefully your DD will be feeling better soon.

Okay I am making a pair of easy fit pants for a biggive. I have the inseam measurement and the waist to floor measurement. Is there anyway to use those 2 measurements to come up with an outseam measurement to use to figure out the sideline A measurement? The waist to floor measurement is 25" and she is a size 7. I am making a cuffed pant. If I read the instructions correctly I would subtract 1" from the outseam to get the A measurement. I think that the size 7 would be too long.
So I guess the question is how much shorter would you go to get ankle length outseam from the waist to floor measurement?

Thanks for the pic of the serger numbers - now I have to go up and look - I think I have the singer, but maybe the brother???:rotfl: ugh!!! Any other tips on just how or what you do with yours, Im all ears!! or if you know of a good tutorial - I googled, and watched a bunch, but none were really that great that I found...

I'd love to learn about rolled hems - is that what some of you use on the bottom of ruffles?

I got the horsey cord at Joann's!! I hope she likes it!!

Back to work on my size 1/2 simple sweet dress!!:goodvibes

Well, I Just looked at my jeans and they hit the floor, never really noticed that before. I would say just an inch short, but I am anti short pants. It drives me nuts! So maybe 1-2 inches off the waist to floor measurement to get the outseam!

I really have no advice. I am afraid to touch mine and mess with the settings! I just have left everything as is! I did do a rolled hem once (yes, some use on the bottom of ruffles) and I cut the far left thread and took the needle out, that was a big step for me!

Sorry, I am not much more help. I got the Brother, but had to order it online because Walmart had stopped carrying it in the stores by the time I decided I wanted one.

So, I am trying to decide which of the tops to make from the patterns I bought yesterday (CarlaC). I was reading through the peasant top pattern and starting to get worried. Someone assure me it is not all that complicated and that I should be fine please :)

Also, anyone seen any good size Tinks to applique? I bought a pillow case and the face is just WAY too big for a size 5 outfit. The material I have found have tiny little Tinks.

Thanks!!!

Finally, I found the cord for my camera and could upload some pictures.

Here's Drizella in the park:

This is Drizella's dress for Becca - she's not a "princess kind of girl" but will be having lunch next week with the stepsisters on her MAW trip:

(Thanks, Fayth, for modeling :) )

Photos were taken before the dress was ironed. My husband says the bow makes the outfit. I covered a headband in acetate ribbon and hot glued the bow to the top of the headband.

Wow that came out cute!!!! I can't wait to see becca's pictures. :thumbsup2

Oh by the way Olivia now wants this costume for Halloween. It is not even pink, but she fell in love with that hair bow.
Now do you think i could talk sister into being Anastasia?

Here is Jayden's latest outfit. She LOVES all things Pooh bear, especially Tigger. The Tigger on the shirt was an ebay iron-on embroidered patch. The kind you can hardly find anymore.

Thanks to Denise/mytwotinks for the design inspiration on the skirt! :thumbsup2
Sorry if the photos don't resize. Photobucket is killing me tonight.

I was reading your October TR the other day and saw that Jayden wore saltwater saddles to Disneyland. Did those work good for her??

I love the V-day outfit! How did you do the letters on the shirt? When I've tried to applique on a t-shirt it seems to make the shirt pucker. I've cut the applique out, ironed it on with Wonderunder or something like that and sewed around the edges but it just doesn't look as good as yours does. Any tricks you can share? Thanks!

I just got the Land's End kids catalogue and there were some cute leggings in there. In fact, for all you with skinny legged kids, they are actually called 'tight-fit leggings'.

hi! I am new at the whole sewing thing so please bear with me :thumbsup2
Where are some good places to find bigger pictures to make applique's with? Do people really use pics out of coloring books?

Also I thought I heard somewhere that you could use the cricut to cut out fabric. Has anyone tried this?

TIA :)

What???? After we spent a lot of time in the gift shops?? I hope they get it figured out before Oct when its my birthday!!!

Hi All,

Well, it looks like my DH is down with the flu or somethin....he is kinda pathetic when he is sick and sleeps aLOT!!!!

Oh no, he has a MANCOLD! Nothing worse!!!

I don't think I posted this near halloween, but this is my DGD 2 halloweens ago!

I don't have a cricut (yet) but I have used coloring pages for appliques. Well, before I actually learned to use my embroidery machine. Just google images and put in whatever you are looking for ex: tinkerbell coloring pages. It works like a charm!

Here is my contribution to the Simply Sweet Marathon Sunday!

I know this wasn't for me, but I thought I could answer! Kadie wore saltwater sandals to Disneyland many times!! They are one of our favorites!!
