Gorgeous Tom. Love the Tink one. And is it just me or does she look like Drew Barrymore in the Minnie picture???
Thanks! I have heard that before! Some photos I see it, but others I don't!
WOW! Those are beautiful!! :thumbsup2 I LOVE the Minnie Dress! Can you tell me - is this the stripwork jumper on YCMT? I'd love to find out where this pattern is. :)
Thanks! It is CarlaC's Simply Sweet Tops and Dresses pattern from YCMT
Tom the Feliz is my absolute favorite dress ever. Yours look spectatcular and Leighanna is sure to turn heads! Wasn't it you who when you wentto Disney last time said it would be an "only " trip? I thin we all tried to warn you then about the Disney bug that gets you???
Thanks! Well, I wasn't sure when we would be able to go back again. I have a hard time taking the summers off of work, and DW can't take any time off at Christmas. I was unsure about taking Leighanna out of school, but since she is doing so well, I figured she would do fine with a week off!
I
Wow! They look simply adorable on! I think Minnie is my favorite! BUT Tink is a close second! They are all wonderful! Glad she wanted to model today.
Thanks! I really like the Minnie one now too! I wasn't sure about it when I was making it, but seeing it on, I do like it!
Is you where buying one pattern would it be Vida or Feliz??

Is one more versatile, harder or easier to use???
For a first pattern, I would definitely get the Vida! So much easier to assemble and has a lot of versatility!
Okay, enough lurking on part. I have read 100's of your postings and thought it was time to say "hi." I love, love, everything you guys do! How do you do so much sewing and posting? You guys move fast!

I do a lot of sewing and my girls are clammering for me to make outfits like the ones they see posted here. Guess I need to get going before they are too old to wear them!

I do have a bunch of questions for you guys but I'll start with one. I really want a ruffler for my Bernina. I saw that someone said they ordered theirs on e-bay. They appear to be similiar to Bernina's and in the $20-30 range. Is this a good deal and do you guys use rufflers enough to warrent the purchase?
DEFINITELY GET A RUFFLER! I don't hand ruffle anything anymore! This has shaved LOTS of time off of any outfit that I make!
O
They are wonderful! I am aspiring to sew my next Feliz as good as you did yours! I LOVE that tink fabric! My JoAnns and Hancocks don't have any tink fabric at all!
She looks so pretty in those dresses!
Thanks! I am sure yours will be beautiful!

That is the cutest! He'll be a hit tomorrow morning for sure! And can I come and play in your house! Look at those all those awesome toys!

This is for the camp in Montana right?

About embroidery machines. I have had mine since 2001 and joined a brother yahoo group when I first got it. It was a wonderful place to learn about the machine, hear tips and tricks and get pointed in the right direction for free designs.

There was tons of talk of different things being used for stablizer and I have pretty much tried them all. They all seem to work more or less. One favorite of others being the paper from dr's office visits that lays across the thing you sit on! Odd thing, but really, it worked.

Yes, I have to admit, I LOVE TOYS!! Can you believe we dont even have any kids!!!!!!!!! Some of my favorites that I usually keep at work but we've had kids over alot lately - they are the Fisher Price Snap and Style Dolls, and the other is called Motor Blocks - the kids cant get enough of them - they build really cool airplanes, choo choo's , race cars etc!!!

And just because she has been my puppy fuzz for 10 years now and turned 11 years old today (just a guess = we got her at the SPCA) here is Zoey enjoying her birthday cupcake!!!

Oh well, we are all friends here, right? Anyone else want to join the sleepover????:wave2:

Hey, is Zoey smiling in that last picture?:rotfl:

If you didn't point out you were in your pj's then no one would have noticed! They are cute!

I had some sort of snap on dolls when I was kid and LOVED them! When I saw the new ones from FP I wanted to snatch them up, but well, some think I have too many toys and too many girlie toys too!

You can tell what a fun and loving people you and your husband are!

I finished my first dress last night! :cool1:

I had some issues with the one seam - closing it up by hand - but, overall I'm very happy with how it turned out. It is the a-line dress pattern from YCMT's website that you all recommended. :thumbsup2

Love it! I want to make Hubby a hat with pepper fabric and yours is just what I hope it would look like :) Great Job!
What fun.

You guys have posted a bunch of beautiful stuff today.
I have been lurking this week, mostly. I have strep and I am not getting over it as fast as I would like. Apparently its much harder for me to just "rest" than it used to be..... could be the super cute 5 and 2 year old who just want play ;)

Thanks! Well, I wasn't sure when we would be able to go back again. I have a hard time taking the summers off of work, and DW can't take any time off at Christmas. I was unsure about taking Leighanna out of school, but since she is doing so well, I figured she would do fine with a week off!

Well we all knew you'd be hooked, and start "making Disney excuses" like the rest of us:) When we took the DVC tour, he wanted us to add up the number of times we had been in the last 10 years....and we couldn't remember:) A little sick...yes...but us! I found that taking my kids out of school was relatively painless until 6th grade. Once they hit Middle School, the homework was too killer to justify more than a day or two off. And I don't regret having them miss one minute of school for our family time.

What a pretty pup pup. She looks so happy and she does look like she is smiling in the last picture. I'm guessing she is smiling because she is in a good home.

This is one reason I can figure out why people would like these patterns. Tracing patterns is my least favorite part. That is why I like Children's COrner patterns. THey print out the sizes all separately.

I am confused. It sounds like you meant to say you can't figure out why people would like the patterns. The patterns from youcanmakethis also print all the sizes separately, you just have to tape them together because they end up being larger than standard copy paper.

But, it's 2 AM here so maybe I'm just really out of it....

This is beautiful! I love how nicely you lined it with the matching print! Nik looks like she really loves it too!

I was poking around on the DL board and I believe you have to go to the ticket booth outside to get the gift card. Some have had papers printed out (where they registered online). The lines are super long because of this and my understanding from reading is that it CANNOT be used for food. So merchandise only!
Thanks!
That is my understanding with the AP bday thing. We are still doing it for Nikki's bday in Nov. I figured the kids could split the gift card.

i have a ruffler but am terrified of it!!!!!!!
Congrats on your new machine. I have 2 brother machines, and I love them both!

I am shocked that a dealership would use coffee filters. I was always told to only use embroidery stabilizers because it would void the warranty on mymachine if I used other things. I know alot of people try to use sewer cloth that you can buy at Lowes as stabilizer too. I just use it to trace my patterns onto. You can actually get embroidery stabilizer for pretty cheap. Especially tear away which is what i would imagine the coffee filters would be used as? Some shops sell them by the yard. This one place I found it was like 20 cents a yard. Anyhow.. sorry for the rant. I was just yelled at by several people for ever suggesting using anything that wasn't embroidery stabilizer. I've heard of people using saran wrap instead of water soluable topping.(like you put on top of towels and on anything with nap)
You should visit www.sewforum.com and look in the embroidery section. There are tons of good links there that show you what kinds of stabilizers to use on different things. Plus the members there seem to know everything about embroidery. I have learned so much from them. You don't NEED to use a topping on top of fleece, but it would depend on how thick it is. If it was thick I would use some just to make sure everything lays nice and flat. I'm a little paranoid though as you can tell. :guilty:
You just want to use a topping like vilene or water soluable stabilizer on things with a nap like towels or minky dot or something like that.
This is actually my 3rd brother my old one is tucked away for Nik to play with. I had to trade my 2nd one in for this one but the new one is my old machine +! LOL
The dealership didn't necessarily recommend coffee filters they use it for their samples and all of their samples are beautiful so i figured why not use them for other things just like the tear away. I think some one on here even posted the dealership they worked at did it too?

Lori

These are great, Lori! I love that second fabric. Can you tell me where you found it?

Since school was cancelled, Leighanna wanted to do a photo shoot with the outfits I have done so far. I still have a few more planned, I just don't know if I will have enough time.

I have shared a couple of those before, but I think they look cuter on!

Gorgeous, Tom! They're going to be a big hit, I'm sure!

OK - I've skimmed 39 pages! I'm sure I've missed a LOT! Sorry!

DH and I are packing up to leave the World this morning. It's been a GREAT trip! Now, back to reality!

Dolly pops!!! I had dolly pops, too! My mom still has them!

Yep, that was them. I sold mine on ebay about 5-6 years ago. I still had the box and all and hated to part with them, but really I can't save everything. Right?

any chance yo could pm me with the info on the brother yahoo group?

Just do a search under yahoo groups for your machine. The group I belonged to doesn't exist any longer because it was so long ago.

I really like this one, cute!

Cute baby alert! I have issues closing up that last seam by hand too. Your daughter is just so adorable and the outfit is cute too.

So pretty! I like the two fabrics together and the twirl is great!

Of course they looks cuter on! I don't think I mentioned it before, but I really like the ribbon seams on the princess dress, it looks so regal. And the fabric for the Tink one are just so cute!

Yay, many Lilys! The dress is just perfect, I love the butt ruffles!

This is the greatest I have ever seen! I really love it. I have issues with black mickey hands so love the white!

I would like to hear more about these issues please, it sounds interesting.

** On another note, the lady who collided with my son's car last month was NOT insured. She was driving a 2004 Nissan Armada - UNINSURED!! She told our insurance company that she and her husband are divorcing and he cancelled the insurance without telling her. No problem for her - her car was virtually unscathed. My son's BMW was totalled.

GRRRRRRRR!

Wow! I hope it all works out. People without insurance really make me mad!

Daniel got discharged today! Fever is gone, so that is great! He was still able to have radiation both days he was in, and right now he is only getting chemo on tuesdays and radiation all 5 days.....he continues to progress from the surgery, with the exception of his speech - its very sparse and very garbled.....frustrating to him, which in some ways is encouraging, because that means he is in there and knows when things arent quite right! He has been complaining of a stiff neck and pain behind his ears - this is from the brace and positions they have to put him in for the radiation. But overall, not a bad week for the first week of full blown everything!!

I'm so glad Daniel got to go home. I hope he continues to improve.

I have to tell you thank you so much for the pms about Megan's writing. We have been doing the Handwriting Without Tears at home and her writing has improved 100%! Her teacher is so pleased and I am not freaking out!

Okay, enough lurking on part. I have read 100's of your postings and thought it was time to say "hi." I love, love, everything you guys do! How do you do so much sewing and posting? You guys move fast!

Welcome! Sorry I can't help you with the ruffler questions, I have a irrational fear of them. The website youcanmakethis.com does have a free tutorial about them.

Cute husband and apron! Great job on it.

What a cute pup! I love her little sweater.

I have been lurking this week, mostly. I have strep and I am not getting over it as fast as I would like. Apparently its much harder for me to just "rest" than it used to be..... could be the super cute 5 and 2 year old who just want play ;)

I hope you feel better soon. I had strep a couple of years ago and literally thought I could die the pain was so bad. Get some rest!

i have a ruffler but am terrified of it!!!!!!!

Me too!

GoofyGirl How is Attikus this morning?

Recall for items containing peanut butter from Austin, Keebler, Soft Batch, Famous Amos, etc.

I wanted to post this because my friend happen to fall upon it the other day when it was a precautionary recall, as of yesterday it was recalled but I never saw anything about it without hunting. I happen to mention it to Heather and she had some in her house too!
