I would like to ask anyone who has the inclination to pray for my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Jenny. She's in the hospital. She had a DNC and some other procedure done almost a month ago because she was having terrible cramps and lots of bleeding between periods. Well, she has had lots of problems with pain and fevers since then. They admitted her to the hospital yesterday when the pain was so bad she couldn't even walk. They THINK she has an infection in her uterus, a urinary tract infection, and that she's passing a kidney stone. I don't understand how all of that could happen at once. I am so worried about her. She is all by herself in the hospital because her husband went to work today and then he has to be home with their 4 kids this evening. I just can't stand the thought of her in the hospital all by herself. She lives 4 hours away and the roads are too bad for me to drive up there.

ETA:I just called her a minute ago and now they think that it's not a kidney stone, but they still don't know what it is. She's on all sorts of drugs, but she said she's still in terrible pain. They're talking about doing exploratory laproscopic surgery of her abdomen. My poor Jenny.:sad2:

Oh my goodness. I am praying for her and her family.

Here is a Pooh Valentine shirt for Megan, the MindyMouse1 Big Give! She is 12 but likes Pooh so hopefully she'll like it! They are going in February, but I don't think it is a holiday specific shirt either, just Pooh holding a heart!

I love all your appliques! I can't get past simple ones. I always screw them up.
I have to admit... I love those pants, too. My dd was over the moon when she saw them, so we will be making a lot more in the future. The pattern is a Farbenmix pattern -- Solana.

No. I followed the pattern as is. I think because I added some shirring to the bodice it made it flare a bit. I love how it turned out though. About the skirt... here are a few I've done. Like I said, it is pretty easy to do and learn to modify.
Here is the pattern as written...
th_CIMG0313-1.jpg

And the back
th_CIMG0315-1.jpg

Here it is with the first 2 layers shorter on one side....
th_CIMG0277-1-1-1.jpg

Here it is with layers 2 and 3 the same length and layer 2 as tulle. I also added a little ribbon detail.
th_mickhallowimage3-1.jpg

And I've done one with a "wavy" 2nd layer, but I don't have a pic for some reason. Anyway, that is just a few ways that one pattern can be changed up.

All of your skirts are so cute!!

Just checking in!!
Things are crazy here this week with the party coming up this weekend!! Also Miss Sophia has a dr. appointment to see the surgeon she has been saying her hernia bump hurts. I'll keep ya posted!!

And prayers please for my sil she is pregnant and was hemmoraging today and they said the baby has a 50/50 shot.

Thanks Guys!!
Prayers are being said.

Does anyone else have a child where clown is looking like a viable option for lifetime occupation? This child utterly drives me crazy. Yesterday we were at Brownies and the girls were practicing selling cookies. There was one Brownie who was way sillier than all the other girls. I also noticed that she is a head taller than almost all the other girls. When did she get so tall?

Anyway, yesterday I cut up some of her jeans and played around with the leftover fabric to make her this:

th_IMG_1065.jpg

Don't expect to see a close up of that zebra any time soon! I kept looking at Jeanne's trying to get him close and hers are much cuter!

Oh, and if anyone wants any girl scout cookies, let me know. When they were discussing goals, the girls said they wanted to sell enough to go to Disney World! Their leaders said that was quite a lot of cookies they would have to sell!
I think this outfit came out so cute!! Megan looks like a ham!

Sending prayers for your friend..hope they can figure out what is causing the pain soon.

Prayers going out to HeatherSue's friend Jenny and Mommieof2's SIL.

I still havent even pulled out my sewing machine, I dont know why, I know my time is limited for being able to sit at a sewing machine. My pubic bone pain is mild, but constant now, and worse at night. I did childcare today at church for a room of 15 3yr olds and realized how much I have slowed in a matter of a few days.

I have that quilt for me I need to start.
fabric purchased and want to do the Feliz pattern
and a patchwork quilt for my Godfather, no rush on that one.

tired all the time now too.
I have a last minute choc lab coming to CT too from GA. Ill have to pick him up from transport, overnight him, then take him to an adoption event, I might try to pack a summer chair in case I need to sit. I hope this dog is controlable.

Tom- I just love your Feliz Princess dress, I love the colors and cant wait to see it modeled!! Can you tell me how you attach your ruffles and do you find any part of this pattern tricky?

If you were talking about my kiddo. No he is still in his Peg. I don't plan on taking him out just yet. I will need another seat when I do, so I'm getting my 2yr old a new seat instead and moving my son when I'm reading into the Britax BLVD. I'm going ahead and buying it when it goes on sale. I extend Rear face too. So he has a few yrs looking back at his sisters.

Thanks for the info! But when I mentioned it to Miss Molly's mom, she said she will be taking her out of the infant seat in a couple of months! They too have several Britax car seats but are looking for a new one for the baby as Kadie's seat is about 5 years old. So thanks to the person who said the sales are at the end of Feb, since they will be looking!

Ok I made it!
You know the girl who got the very 1st rose? I think her name is Nikki? Well she was one of my George's secretaries!:scared1: He made me watch it because of it. She is this pageant girl or something like that. She worked at George's company for a few yrs and when she asked if she could have time of to do the Bachelor they said NO! so she quit. George and a bunch of people at work where watching because they where sure she would screw up because they all said she was so flakey and not the sharpest tool in the shed. He was very surprised at how she came off the 1st epi and we decided she had her pageant face on.

That is so funny! I always wonder what the people are really like!! I knew that the one teacher quit her job to go on the show, but Nikki never said she did too. I thought it was pretty bizarre to quit your job to go on a show like that. Talk about flaky! :rotfl2:

I have to take the baby to get her 2 year old shots today. :( But the upside is that I'll be on the side of town where there is a Joanns and I can go see if they still have some dot fabric left. :) I bought some a few weeks ago but I can always use more! Does anyone know if they have the lime green dots? I've never seen any. Dunno if there is any or not. I've got pink, orange, and red currently in my stash.

I was looking for a purpleish/pinkish dots the other day to match my tinkerbelle fabric. They didn't have the color I was looking for but I think I remember looking at the green.

My resolution is to get better with quoting instead of reading and commenting to myself this time around.

I keep saying that same thing! Now I am going out of town for 2 days and will be lost when I get back!:confused3

On the subject of car seats. My neighbors are in their early 50's and they had a surprise baby come along. Well one day the dad, Jose, is in his SUV fighting with Rosa's car seat. He saw me come outside and he asked if I could help him. He didn't have a clue of how to put the car seat in the car. So I showed him how to put the car seat in the car and how to tighten the belt up real tight. Then he looks at me and he says, "We did not have to use these for our other children." It's funny how times have changed. I don't think that my mom had a car seat for any of us children. I definitely don't remember her having for my little sister, but I can't imagine Jenna without one. It kind of scares me.

Yeah, I remember those days. My oldest had a car seat that had hooks that go over the seat. It wasn't for safety, but for her to be high enough to see out at the world. Second had a nicer, safer looking car seat, but my car's seatbelts didn't go around the car seat. Third DD and all grandgirls all have Britax and I even know how to put them into their seats! And that poor couple?? Being in their 50's with an oopsie??:scared1:

Also wanted to share that dh and I are finally DVC owners at Bay Lake Tower!
Congrats!!! I keep telling DH that I want to be a DVC owner too! He tells me good idea, get a job. :cool1:

Anyway, yesterday I cut up some of her jeans and played around with the leftover fabric to make her this:

Alright, I had more quotes, but I am running out of time. Have to go see the grandgirls!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Anyways, loved all the ragland T's, its on my list of thing to try!

Yeah tell me about it. I would hate to have an empty house and enjoying life and then oops!! It's not for me, but they seem so happy. She is beautiful too. They are the neighbors that I sew for and would never think of charging them.

They're adorable! I really like the first one. Now to find a way to get it without DH noticing!!! LOL :lmao:
go for it!!!!!!

A little late, but I made it here!!!

Also wanted to share that dh and I are finally DVC owners at Bay Lake Tower! We have been wanting to buy into DVC but dh really wanted to wait until Bay Lake Tower was for sale...and with the current incentive, he figured we should go for it! I am so excited, and we get 5 night stay at a 1 BR villa for our next trip...so we are staying at POP for 5 nights, and at Beach Club for another 5 nights. Kirsten will turn 6 during our trip and she requested to stay at POP century.

About car seats, I have both my 5 and 3 yo in a Britax Marathon. I think I might upgrade Kirsten to either a Regent or Frontier sometime. I don't feel comfortable with her riding in a booster, so I am keeping her in a 5 point harness.
WELCOME HOME! I am so excited for you! I love owning a DVC! I can't wait to stay at ours in Nov!

It's official- Sophia will have her hernia repaired on Feb. 6th!! I know it is only day surgery but I'm still nervous!!! But I am also glad it's finally set. We have had this hanging over us for over a year now, and knew the day would come eventually!!
Keep us posted!

when I said Flake I was being nice George told me stories about her! They would make your head spin!!!!!!

Ok, I've been lurking long enough. If you guys don't mind I think I'll use this new thread as an opportunity to emerge from lurkdom. I'm relatively new to sewing. I started to sew when I had my baby girl, and she'll be two in a week, so that shows just how new I am. On our Disney trip in October I saw so many beautiful custom dresses on little girls, and that opened up a whole new world for me of Disney sewing! How exciting. And then I found you guys, and now I'm hooked. You guys are incredible. I'm so inspired. I hope with your guidance I can one day sew such beautiful things for my daughter. Or at least learn to fake it. ;) Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll even crank out something for my son, too :rotfl:

I am Obsessive - Compulsive. I admit it, not proud of it but it is what it is.

I signed up yesterday for the TinyTreasures Big Give. I finished the outfit today (mostly, I just have to hand sew on the buttons.) I am hoping that mom was right when she said Isabella loves Pink.:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

Ok, ladies. I hope this questions doesn't sound too bizarre. My oldest is 6.5, 48 lbs and about 48". He is riding in a booster seat but I am going to look into to putting him back into a car seat like the ones mentioned. His brother and sister are in Britaxes: a Marathon and a Boulevard. We origianlly moved him to a booster out of a 5 pt. harness because he was complaining about his private parts being squished (and it being painful). At the time we couldn't adjust the seat we had to make him more comfortable. So, I guess what I am asking is that does anyone have any boys in these seats? Is there enough room "down there"? Thanks for your help.

Plenty of room down there on the Regent. Dallas is probably about that exact size. Last time I weighed him he was 46 lbs and I believe about 47 inches tall. Also enough room in the Nautilus, but I probably wouldn't buy one now for a child his size. I am sure he has alot of time left, but I mainly needed one for the airplane ride from GA to CA and back.

Cool, just learned how to quote and change to thumbnails.

Anyway. I love it. I want to make some little girl stuff soon (I only have boys). I think I will try an A-line and the easy fits like this for a very little one. and put it away till one of my little brothers has kids.

I'm a bad mommy too. My VERY large 5 year old (she is often mistaken for 6 or even 7, she wears size 7) is in a high back booster seat. Funny thing, around here I can drive through three states in one day and all three states have VERY different laws about car seats. I was apparently legal in two of the three, but illegal in Maine when she was 3 (she was big enough for the booster, but in Maine regardless of size, you have to be 4).

It's clearly a New England thing.

I need to do this with the snow white tee that I ruined with a drop of bleach.

Does anyone else have a child where clown is looking like a viable option for lifetime occupation? This child utterly drives me crazy.

Clown huh? I'm dreading the amount of money that Law School is going to cost me. Aisling argues with everything I say :rotfl:

Oh, that I would want to see for sure! I did rip up some jeans and made a strip skirt out of it but I have never worn it out of the house.
