I made Sawyer a Chip and Dale bowling shirt with my precious little bit of Chip/Dale fabric (it was gifted to me, but not available for sale anywhere that I know of). He LOVES it! It's so cool to have him get excited about what I make. You may remember before our last trip, I had to bribe him with cookies to get him to try things on.

Here 'tis!
SawyerinChipDaleshirt_457x600.jpg

I made it to match Tessa's Chip/Dale/Clarice outfit.
Twocutekids_515x600.jpg

You may remember that Sawyer had a Chip appliqued t-shirt that met an unfortunate demise on our last trip. But, I was able to salvage the applique (I get really attached to the appliques I did before I got my embroidery machine) and stuck it on the back of the shirt:

I lined it with cheetah print fabric, even though it's not visible when he wears it.

Just because I thought it was really sweet!

So cute!!! I love both and that print is really cute!

Hello my name is Kristie and I am a fabric addict!

I ran over to Hancock's at lunch today to get cord to make the piping in my outfit. $58 later I walked out of Hancock's with cord, 4 new fabrics, new needles for my machine and some hand needles too (I seem to have lost all hand needles except really big ones and It was very hard to sew a button with a super large needle). The bad thing is I don't have a plan for any of the fabric right now, I just really liked it. Is there a fabric lovers annoymous I could join? (And I know most of you can understand my just wanting the fabric. I'll figure out something to do with it eventually thought process)

My name is Jennifer and I am a fabric addict. :rotfl2:

I finally have some pictures of the things I made my daughter. Of course I didn't have a cooperative model so it is just the clothes. After the first 3 dresses (that I previously posted) I made the Wall-E outfit. Well, Ainsley declared that she didn't want any shorts/pants, just dresses! So the rest are dresses. Of course she also said she didn't want the Little Einsteins dress, just princesses. Too bad. Her little brother loves Little Einsteins and we are scheduled to have lunch with June and Leo. She will wear the dress! Anyway, here are the pictures. I am only so-so on the Wall-E one but I like the other three.

Tinkerbell
I showed the skirt before but finished a shirt to go with it. I cut apart a shirt I got on clearance at the Disney store. It was a size too small and so I just used the picture on the front.
th_IMG_0180.jpg

The aformentioned Little Einsteins dress. Jessica, here is my appliqued Rocket. Thanks again for the positive encouragement.
th_IMG_0187.jpg

Minnie Dress
When I was putting the skirt portion together she said, "ooo, that's pretty, is that for me?".
th_IMG_0186.jpg

Another Minnie outfit. She wants a bow on Minnie's head. Suggestions? Should I pin a ribbon bow to it or applique one on? If I applique it, what color do you think?
th_IMG_0181.jpg

They are pretty much all the same jumper but I like the style so that if it is cold I can just put a long sleeve shirt under it. I have one more outfit planned for her but I started the boys' tees yesterday. I got 4 tees done for my oldest but haven't taken pics yet. Three are mickey heads in different fabrics and one is Buzz Lightyear.

I am a very newbie clothes sewer (I have been making quilts on and off for years) and I so appreciate all of the encouragement you all give on this board.

Thanks!

Everything looks great!

Do you guys ever buy very many ebooks from youcanmakethis.com?
Can someone give me some feedback?

I just bought and made 2 CarlaC outfits... the patchwork twirl skirt and peasant shirt. Directions are awesome, you can't go wrong! Good luck!!

I LOVE these out fits!! What top is that ??? I need to get it!!!

Hey...just another update on my Granny...she was doing pretty good last night...full use of both arms, maybe a little weakness still in her left, but still she was using it. She is still talking in 3-4 words at a time, but she is trying and is of course smiling the entire time! The speech therapist said this morning that she was able to swallow, which is good. They said it was considered like a mini stroke, so I think, not sure, that she should recover good. Right now, it's just one day at a time.

thanks again for all the prayers....I must sleep now...LONG night!

YAY!!!! So happy to hear she is doing well ( and working with a therapist!!) - keep her moving and groovin!!!

I hope they are easy :) How true to the size are they? I just printed off a Size 4 jumper bodice (sp) and it looks like it would fit one of my DD's dolls. :lmao: (She wears a 4t now)

Popping out of lurkdom to say my DD wears a 3T/4T and I use the 4T bodice on Carla's stripwork jumper. It is plenty big. I've made a ton in all sorts of sizes and the fit is pretty true. Make sure the 1" square on your page is measuring 1" when you print it. Otherwise you need to click something to make sure the page is scaled right. Not sure what that is since I print my pattern pieces in photoshop somehow and I don't have to worry about that.

Ok people, I just bought my first one tonight from Cara C the stripwork jumper :)

The stripwork jumper was the first one I bought too. I had never sewn any piece of clothing and I was really happy with the easy directions and how they turned out. You won't be disappointed!:thumbsup2

So wait??? You guys all use iron on stabilizer with knits??? Everytime I use iron on, I have problems. I use cut away with spray adhesive. Then I stick the whole thing on a sticky back stabilizer.

I don't use iron on for anything. I just don't like it. I usually use cut away and pin it out but have used tear away and pin it on.

Wall E is fabulous! I love the yellow with it!

You did a great job on the rocket! I knew you would!

Love the chip n dale! This last picture is the best!

So stinkin' cute! Great use of little scraps and I love the pictures, he looks so happy! Megan was walking by and yelled, "Sawyer!" I said, "Doesn't he look like his Daddy in this picture?" and Megan said, " Yes! But he is smaller!"

Can't get anything by her! :lmao:

I think they are both very cute. Hey, I like your crocs!

Here's my first ever Minnie set. I started with the stripwrk jumper and capris. I've been dying to try an apron, so that was next. Of course I needed a tee to take pictures with just the jeans and apron...

LOVE this! It is so pretty and colorful. And love the apron part of the outfit!

Okay ladies and gents,
I'm ready to post something I made this week. My MIL gave me 6, yes 6, yards of this brown fleece that I don't really care for. It's nice fleece and I'd like to use it, so I'm racking my brain trying to think af things I can do to make the fleece a little more appealing. I graduated from Colorado State University, we still live in the area, and their colors coordinate with the brown fleece. So as my brother (also an alum) would say "GO C-SUE".

Poor Noah is not feeling well, I think this might have been the only time he laughed all day :guilty: . Then when we took off his jacket, he melted down because he had thought we were going outside :guilty: :guilty: .

Also, I just wanted to celebrate with you guys because I know you'll understand: I officially booked my WDW package today:cheer2: !!!! We are staying for 9 nights, 10 days at the Wilderness Lodge. I can't wait!
.

You really did a great job with that brown fleece! Very cute! And congrats on booking your trip. I am very jealous!

The Feliz tutorial I used was this one: http://trilliumdesign.blogspot.com/2008/11/feliz-sew-along.html I think she has it divided up into 4 parts - the link goes to part one, then on the right hand side, she has links to go to the other parts. Good luck and post it when you're finished!!

Thanks! that is the one I was looking for! She did a great tutorial! I have 3 projects going right now...hopefully I will get this one done soon!

Yes, it is almost 4am but DS had an accident and came in all wet. Poor guy he has done super for almost 2 weeks. Nitetime is so hard but he is learning.

I finished his TF printed shirt today with a whole lot of help from Crystal. I got very stuck on the collar. I am old school and call it under and upper collar. It is now called collar and facing. The bowling shirt is much easier but I am trying to learn how to understand the instuctions in a commercial pattern so I can make dresses for myself.

th_shirt.jpg

DS is sure he wearing this to school today but yesterday was -22. I don't think he is wearing it unless he has a long sleeve pull over under it.

Very nice! I really should buy that pattern. It is in my wish list!

Ok here is my disastrous applique! I am going slow I actually even set my machine for the slow mode so I am not tempted to go fast and it is still awful! UGH! Any extra tip any one can give especially around corners?
I may have to get busy learning to digitize so I can make the pictures I want! UGH!!!!!!!!
th_IMG_0773.jpg
I am not sure why Kyle can't just pose nicely he has to ham it up and make faces every time! :confused3

Can you tell I am not happy with it! The pants are of course Carla's easy Fit! I like how they came out!

I think you did a great job! Look at all the curvy parts to that applique! I just did my first simple one and it was square...much easier!

Hey...just another update on my Granny...she was doing pretty good last night...full use of both arms, maybe a little weakness still in her left, but still she was using it. I have been praying for granny and thinking of you all day. Glad she is improving. gonna pm you.

One more I forgot to add...What do you think?? My DD wanted a set with Kitties...I love this fabric! It's so funky!!

I am a fabric addict. When I used to scrapbook more I would buy tons of paper...now I buy tons of fabric!

These

I have a Singer from Walmart, I really like it. I paid $50 for it, but I think it's usually around $179.
Thanks for your input. How did you get it for $50? WOW! Mom said she will give me a little extra money if I really wanted the Brother 1034D.

Ok people, I just bought my first one tonight from Cara C the stripwork jumper :) So now between finishing the shirts and making the jumper for DD it should keep me busy for a while.

That was my very first YCMT pattern, too! It is a great one! Before that I had only sewn a shopping cart cover, so it was my first attempt at clothes.

Here's what I made the very first time:

ETA: Sorry it is sooo huge!

Eyore4Ever149 Did you use a pattern to make the cute short sets you just posted?

Do you guys ever buy very many ebooks from youcanmakethis.com?
Can someone give me some feedback?

The shorts of course are CarlaCs Easyfit pants pattern

New Look 6689 is what I used (my second outfit ever was the Little Mermaid)
6689.jpg

I will say i have learned alot since this- this is an unlined pattern- and uses bias tape for the arm holes so the insides, unless you own a serger, are maybe not so pretty.
this would work too-
the top part is a commercial pattern Im pretty sure it was McCalls 5031
M5031.jpg

Okay, if I had a voice to laugh I would have at your second question- I think all of us own stock in that website- you will not be disappointed and one of the pattern makers (LouisMama) visits us frequently and will often, oh I dont know "MODESTIFY" or add bow options, etc to these patterns- we all love CarlaC (Sew Boutique for Dolly and Me) They are pricey, but well worth the money!!!!!!

This is my favorite outfit!! I am in the same boat as you, I have done plenty of quilt projects, but I find myself pulled more towards clothes- they are so fun and come together so much faster than a quilt that takes months. Your kids will be so cute at WDW! have fun!!!

Heather- I dont have the quote with photo- but I LOVE the dumbo and the sparkly brown fabric is perfect for the mouse!!!!
