Ok I just have to share.

I know some of you have been around this board for awhile and know a little about my DD Morgan.

I was told (by "teachers") that she is "not capable of independant or creative thought".

Well she is currently fluttering around my house dressed as Fawn (she dressed herself a tee and orange leggings and fawn colored tutu). She found a hair tie in her room that looks like the one Fawn wears and she asked for a ponytail like Fawn. Then she brought me the shimmer nights (Thank you TeresaJoy ) and asked me to spray it on her arms-because Fawn glitters (And she is right I went back and looked at the pictures from our Meet and greet and she does glitter!). She asked for "berries and fluff" for breakfast which she is eating sitting on a rock (footstool). It seems I am "Fairy Mary". She is just too cute! And I am so proud of all the progress she is making.

I just don't get people who use the word can't or never when it comes to children. They surprise us everyday in what they are able to accomplish. I truly believe they are walking miracles!!

This is a hat and scarf that Tessa made all by herself. It involved lots of knotting and a little bit of sewing with a big plastic needle. She was SO proud of herself!! She is trying to imitate the girl on the box in this picture.

Yep, the Dumbo on my shirt and Tessa's is the one I digitized.

Oh My word!!!!! Heather we NEED to talk!!!! Dumbo is my all time favorite Disney character and you can NEVER find anything with him on it. (My first dog, I named Dumbo!)

How sweet that your first dog was Dumbo! Tessa and Sawyer both love watching Dumbo. You're right, it's hard to find anything with him on it!

Did you just make up the skirt part of the dress yourself?? I've always wanted to do that type of skirt, but I haven't tried it yet. Your Dumbo's look great! I am in the midst of trying my first freehand applique. I always just digitize designs for the embroidery machine. I wanted to make something bigger. Thanks for the tutorial. I am all ready to go, just waiting on a teflon sheet!

I used Carla's stripwork jumper pattern for the bodice and then just figured out the skirt part on my own. I remember Leslie (2cutekidz) posted a split skirt a long time ago and told us how to do it. You just don't join the 2 pieces together in the front and sew the ruffle onto all 3 edges. I rounded the edges a bit in front.

Did you seal the edges somehow?

I didn't seal the edges. I did an iron on design on another bag and it stayed. In fact I tried to peel it off to redo it and no way was it going to come off. My friend used the iron on paper and she didn't get the one for dark colors and it peels off. It was not as good as what I bought. I bought the one for ironing on dark fabric.

They had really good prices, a yard of Michael Miller Bunny Toss for 3.95/yard, and every other site I looked at had it for 8.95/yard. Anybody try them???

Ok I just did my 2nd applique and it started out good then well not so good. I think I better learn that digitizing software fast!!!!!! Or buy some more embroidery designs!

Im curious, will you be headed to WDW soon, or do your kids wear Disney anytime? I always wondered this about all the customs here.

Sounds like it is crazy but fun. I cloth diapered my oldest. In fact, I became so addicted to the beautiful cloth dipes out there that I decided to learn to sew. Yeppers.... that's what started the whole obsession. Good luck to you. It is an insanely joyous time. Don't forget to make the wipes, too. They are super easy to make.

I used cloth for Corey too. I didn't make wipes, I just bought some cheap washcloths. For the first year of his life, that boy cost me nothing!

Well I have a problem, I bought way too much Wall E fabric! So do you guys think I should put it on free cycle or sell it? I know I have a little over 2 yrds left

Also where on earth do you find the pattern for the crayon roll thing?

I was at a conference at the Swan and Dolphin! It was in the 30s and 40s all week! Brrr!! Can you believe the only Disney place I made it to was the Boardwalk and Downtown Disney! They keep us very busy at the conference. One night they bussed us all to Universal Studios. It wasn't my beloved Disney, but it was FREE!

Thanks for all the prayers...I am just a short time away from driving home but wanted to give an update on my Granny.

They were unable to give her tPA because they don't know when she had the stroke. They are not sure why this happened and there are meds missing from her pill box that should still be in there...tonight's, and all of tomorrows...we don't know if she took them all by accident or if she never filled the box, which would be strange for her.

She was only able to say "Granny can't" this morning when she was trying to get my mom...now she can put 3 & 4 words together. She is walking and can only lift one arm. They will be running more test between now and when I get there I am sure. I will try to keep you updated...I am so sure that all your prayers had made the differnce. Thank you.

I hope they figure out what happened with those pills. Give your Granny an extra big hug for all of us!

Here is my last Valentine's Day outfit for the year. I had ordered some pettis for spring/Easter, and they arrived earlier than expected. Also, since it looks as though I may not be able to use them after Feb 10 (thanks to the new legislation), I wanted to make something with them real quick. I have always loves the look of a petti with an embellished t-shirt.

The fluff is not as neon as it seems to be in the last pic, and I know better than to apologize for my dd's tangled hair.

Hey guys! I haven't been around but I have been thinking of all of you. I have NOT been sewing. Just busy busy busy learning to be a SAHM...boy are the dishes NEVER actually done? But finally I think I have decluttered my home to the extent that I may actually have time to sit down and sew something. I have tons of summery fabrics from last year that never got used and plan on making Little a whole slew of round necked dresses and pillowcase dresses for the FL. heat. It's just so nice to have something light and breezy to just throw on. I am also about to enter the world of cloth diapers....which I have been told is CRAZY. I am sewing dipes for the new little as well as a girlfriend who is due the day before me, so I'm sure to be a busy mama. I havent' gone backwards b/c I could never catch up but I
LOVE the outfit snubie made at the top of teresa's post. ADORABLE!!

DON'T LET LITTLE SEE THIS!!!!! Dumbo is her newest fascination. She only asked for 4 things from Santa and a BIG Dumbo w/ BIG ears was one of them. He is her newest love. Of course the best I could do was a 12" Dumbo, but I guess he was big to her, she didn't complain.

I've called Hancock fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Wal Mart and most of them had no clue what I was talking about, but went and looked and said they don't have it.
I really don't want to order one online. I want it now!

Sad news to share...
My grammies closest sister past away today. She would have been 89 next month. She has been in a nursing home for many years and had been failing these last few days. I am glad my grammy got to go spend time with her yesterday.

Club cheer is ran through the Jr Football club here. They also have cheer squads. The girls(and 1 boy) perform every Saturday and compete against other franchises. All season they are scored on their hospitality at home and away. At the end of the season they have a competition based on routines and then the squad with the best hospitality is awarded the Spirit Cup

What a horrible thing for a teacher to tell a mother
A child is capable of anything with the right encouragement and motivation and LOVE. Something that "teacher" should have been more willing to give. It bugs me so much when they are quick to label kids

Also, I showed Tyler your comments and he appreciated them very much. He also wanted you guys to know that he makes great Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins (we made those Sunday too.) He says I should be using more smilies cause our board "has the best smilies he has ever seen."

I'm glad they pushed back the digital conversion! I HATE my convertor box! We did get a CBS channel (that was it) with it, now we only get NBC, and this morning a PBS was coming in all digitized looking and I couldn't get it in for anything! I keep hoping Brian will put the antenna on the roof, that should get in more. With just our rabbit ears (no box) we get 3 channels quite nicely!

I'm glad they did too. We get 1 channel and it's not one of the main ones. I think the whole thing is silly.

me- Drs app, lots of meds, the whole family is sick. Ugh

I hope you feel better soon. Being pg is hard enough, especially with a toddler

I thought I would share a little project that I whipped up for Jenna. This actually took me like 15 minutes to complete.

This really helped to make her room look much neater. All of those stuffed animals were all over her bed and floor and now she can move around and has plenty of room in her bed at night.

HOW did you do that??? I just organized Littles room, everything except all those darned stuffed animals!
