Sad news to share...
My grammies closest sister past away today. She would have been 89 next month. She has been in a nursing home for many years and had been failing these last few days. I am glad my grammy got to go spend time with her yesterday.

They have asked me, my sister and another female cousin to be among the pallbearers. She is going to be buried near her husbands. It is a 250 mile trek up north for the funeral. Dh wants to go as a family. So we will have several hours in the car on thursday evening and then again on friday. But I really couldn't say no. All three of us have rearranged everything so we could be there for our cousin (who is a few weeks younger then my sister) as she goes through this mourning time.

Reality is hitting that my grammy will not be here forever. She is in great health so I am hoping to have her around for many years to come!

I was planning to work on the bowling shirt but I just can't get into it. I feel drained.

Thanks for listening.

Here is my last Valentine's Day outfit for the year. I had ordered some pettis for spring/Easter, and they arrived earlier than expected. Also, since it looks as though I may not be able to use them after Feb 10 (thanks to the new legislation), I wanted to make something with them real quick. I have always loves the look of a petti with an embellished t-shirt.

The fluff is not as neon as it seems to be in the last pic, and I know better than to apologize for my dd's tangled hair. :D

The feb 10th thing would not affect what you can dress your kids in and won't affect people making clothes that is "on of a kind" - so that would include boutiquer's, since everything made by hand is "one of a kind" - PLUS the fabrics and such will likely be coming from a store that has acceptable items :) I submitted this story to snopes and here is the article they wrote:

I was inspired to make Grace a dress from the Tinkerbell pillowcase from Kmart. I saw the outfits some of you made using them so I decided to try. I also bought a little mermaid pillowcase. I haven't done anything with that one yet. When I finished the tinkerbell top it was too short. I attached the bottom green piece with ric rac to add length.

mycreations002.jpg
That is a very adorable outfit and the green band looks planned.

Great minds think alike! I just hung one in Kyle's room this weekend because his stuffed animals are all over the place too! Ours was an old one we had in Nikki's room back in GA that I just found and I think it is on its last leg! Do you mind sharing how you made it?
Here is my sort of tutorial on my blog. http://allaboutcrystalcrtr2.blogspot.com/

Thank you for posting this. All of this has been blown out of proportion, even though there have been numerous reports saying that home businesses won't be affected.:thumbsup2

I love this (especially since I have those pillow cases and haven't done anything with them yet, since I'm using them as pillow cases :) But I sure alwasy look at them wit ha project in mind ;) )

I am not sure if selling custom sized boutique clothing and thrift stores fall under the same category. Most listings on ebay/etsy are custom. The clothing is made to fit. There seems to be some gray areas and hopefully the boutique world can get through this.

It just really upsets me to think about all the ladies who depend on this income. Up until last year I had a small business of my own. We depended on it as part of our families income. My extra income got us through some harder times!

Whew!!!!! I had 15 pages to catch up on. I guess that is what I get for taking a day off to help my son recover from surgery LOL!

I know I probably forgot to hit the multi-quote button on some, so forgive me. You are so creative!! I love come here. It is so easy to just come and lurk!!! Like window shopping :)

Those turned out so cute :) Looks like she loved wearing them, too.

Simply Gorgeous! I love the fabric combinations.

The skirt is really cute. I like the applique.

That fabricis so dainty and cute. It really made a nice Easter dress.

oh, here is my Woody dress I just finished.... We are not keeping this one as well... Her smile is a tad wierd..... hmmmm but I really like this dress... the apron can be taken off too!
th_IMG_7693.jpg

You have inspired me to make an outfit for Hoopty Doo Revue. I can't wait to do something out of bandana fabric. Too cute!!

Thanks for re-posting the instructions. I can't wait to try it. I think your tops are very pretty.

I feel like such a slacker. You seem to be whipping stuff up right and left!!

I just love the bright colors for Minnie and Mickey outfits. I think that may be why they are my favorite characters.

That Epcot outfit is gorgeous. Makes me kick myself for not buying that fabric last year!!

Wow!! Your applique is really great!!

I love Daisy! I agree the Minnie is very cute!

I finished the Minnie Set...and wanted to share.

I really like how it turned out. I think I may have to go back and pick up the pillow case.

I am hearing conflicting things I guess - some people saying no more boutique stuff - others saying that one of a knd things are exempt. . . I guess we'll see. Hopefully they clarify or make amendments before then so no one has to go out of business.

Do share...where is this store? You know I need to know these things!

It is right there by Concord Mills. That strip mall next to Concord Mills. It has a Mexican restuarant and some stores...one of them is Sew Much Fun. They had ALOT of fabric. Wow! Lots of fabrics I have only seen online. I had to leave! They sell Bernina machines which are way over my price range for a serger, but the store was moslty fabric...you should come and check it out!

Can you tell who it is suppose to be???
Ok,please don't say, "I wouldn't have known it was suppose to be anyone, if you weren't asking...."
;)

Ok I just have to share.

I know some of you have been around this board for awhile and know a little about my DD Morgan.

I was told (by "teachers") that she is "not capable of independant or creative thought".

Well she is currently fluttering around my house dressed as Fawn (she dressed herself a tee and orange leggings and fawn colored tutu). She found a hair tie in her room that looks like the one Fawn wears and she asked for a ponytail like Fawn. Then she brought me the shimmer nights (Thank you TeresaJoy :grouphug: ) and asked me to spray it on her arms-because Fawn glitters (And she is right I went back and looked at the pictures from our Meet and greet and she does glitter!). She asked for "berries and fluff" for breakfast which she is eating sitting on a rock (footstool). It seems I am "Fairy Mary". She is just too cute! And I am so proud of all the progress she is making.

Did know that tinkerbell lives at our house! :goodvibes

Here is a video that I think will clarify some of the issue for home sellers of children's clothing. http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/apparel.html You should really watch the entire video. A question asked in regards to small manufacturers and testing. Basically the manufacturer of the original product that you use in making the child's product needs to be compliant and you should only purchase items that are labeled as compliant.

Sorry no models. Here are the girls Chef Mickey's outfits. DD4 and my firneds DD4 is wearing Daisy Duck. DD2 and my friends DD2 is wearing Minnie Mouse! I love how the Minnie mOuse turned out, it's my favorite, Imlike them all though. Thanks Jham for the ruffle idea.:thumbsup2 I'll have to get the 2 boys bowling shirt with Mickey Mouse form my mom.

That is just perfect for a pink, frilly loving girl. Great job.

Also, I showed Tyler your comments and he appreciated them very much. He also wanted you guys to know that he makes great Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins (we made those Sunday too.) He says I should be using more smilies cause our board "has the best smilies he has ever seen." :cool1:

I would say the teachers don't have a clue! She sounds extremely creative. You should be a very proud momma. I would love to see pictures.

I just hate that bridge you have to cross! I would close my eyes when going over, but I am usually the driver! Good luck! I have to go to Wallyworld....I feel I am spending too much time there lately.
