Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the DIS'er that suggested DING!!! Of course they don't have anything out as far as November,yet...but I am hopeful that come August or so...they may have something! Thanks again!

I know this is the Sewing Thread...sorry!! Just wanted to say thanks!

Have a great day! Gotta get to my day job, so I can sew some more!!

Your Welcome. :) We actually got $29 flights once to MCO. We ended getting an extra day at WDW and still saved money.

It is so great that you are going to join us with the Big Gives. It is so rewarding to be able to help the families. I am sure someone will be in touch with you shortly. Welcome:welcome:

Pics of Tyler and his new quilt

Lining up the pieces to decide what should go where.

Pinning them together. We had to have a talk about pins on the rug. He would be the first to yell at me if he stepped on one.

Sewing on my machine. I drew the lines in chalk, so that he had a better chance of keeping them straight.

Finished product.

That has to be the cutest pictures. I love to see Tyler sewing. The quilt is wonderful!

I think it is cute and not too bright at all.
OK..Here are a couple things I have been working on. This is my first Minnie Head w/ bow!! I am going to be doing a ton of these...:) Love them!!!

I will have modeled pic's soon!!

Those are all so cute. You are really doing great.

I love that shirt and the embellishments on the pants look great. I like those ponytail holders. They are super easy to make.

Nothing really new, but here is Princess Leia on a really pretty blue!

I still have alot not on the shelves, but this is a big chunk of everything.

Trying to remember, did I ever post a picture of the race car shirts I made?

Well, thanks for looking. Hopefully, I'll have some more new stuff to show you shortly.

Love the Princess Leah! Okay, did I mess up the spelling on this? The crayon roll ups are great too, I've got to add that to my list of things to do for my girls. I wish I was as dedicated of a sewer as so many of you guys are. You "whip" things up so fast it amazes me. I feel like somedays it's a good thing that I get my :laundy: done, let alone sew anything!

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the organized fabric. Everyone on here who has the nice organized fabric makes me so jealous! I don't have half the stash that most of you have although it is growing much to my DH's dismay;) . Your t-shirts are impressive too. I need to work on getting a craft room for myself, do you think I could talk my DH into letting me have the media room for myself? :rotfl2:

Love the Minnie Heads! Great job!

That fabric is gorgeous! Beautiful dress, I really love the old fashioned Pooh the best.

Thank you for reposting Jeanne's directions, I have never made one and am always trying to remember how she said to do it. Maybe I will be smart and bookmark it this time. I love the valentines one; it's adorable. Gosh she has a pretty smile!

Love your easter egg outfits! And your minnie one is soooo cute!

Wow, you have real talent Jessica, but I guess we all knew that. I am so jealous of your appliquing skillz! No, I don't remember any race car shirts, please post them. You have a lot of t-shirts!

This is my second gymbo outfit. We bought the shirts and then went to JoAnns for look for matching fabric. Of course, the colors are a bit weird so I couldn't find any patterned fabric that matched the blue or peachy pink. I was kind of bummed that the pants were going to be so plain but then I found this fat quarter of peachy pink that never matched anything so it's been sitting in my closet for over a year. It went with the shirt perfectly! Megan wanted a close-up of the butterfly to show everyone I did it on her Hello Kitty machine. It has a setting for nice tiny, zig zag stitches! Anyway, I think it turned out very well!

Oh, two more things. I wanted to show the back to show off her hair thing. They charge an arm and a leg for hair accessories when it's really just a bunch of ribbon tied around a hair elastic! I think even I could make that! :lmao: Second, I know I need to get her some spring shoes, the brown and pink sketchers don't really go, do they?

Anyway, have a great Monday everyone!

I love Megan's new outfit! Awesome job on her butterfly. She looks so cute with her pony tail too. I definitely think you could do one of those.

I have yet been able to get them into ziploc bags. It's a fight, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any hints?

Maybe buy a bigger ziploc? I know they come in a really big size bigger than the gallon ones. Maybe try those?

Great job on the quilt! I think it's fantastic that your son did it by himself (I'm sure you helped but you KWIM). I've got to add that to my list of things to do too. Hmm, that list is growing even as I write this response!

Your Welcome. :) We actually got $29 flights once to MCO. We ended getting an extra day at WDW and still saved money.

That is a fantastic deal! How lucky are you! I wish that they would have good rates out of Dallas. But it's a pain to fly Southwest out of Dallas b/c you have to have a lay over if you are flying any further than the states that "touch" Texas or Missouri. The law that made this will be fully gone in another year I think so I can't wait. Hopefully it will make American more competitive too.

That is just too cute. I think everything matches perfect. The top is so cute and the pants are adorable. Where is the little dog? Hard to think about spring with another 7 inches of new snow this morning.

I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi!" to my friends! :wave2: My laptop died last week and it's in the shop. I have a desktop, but it's in a really cold room and I can't keep an eye on the kids from here. Plus, this chair is MUCH less comfortable than the recliner I usually sit in. ;) So, I have been absent.

I finished 2 Dumbo shirts for my mom and I, plus 2 Dumbo outfits for the kids. I'm hoping to post some pictures of them today if I can thaw out my fingers enough to get it done in this freezing room (I don't know why it's so cold in here!).

Today is the ship date for the MindyMouse1 big give.
I came over here to post it when I noticed that almost everyone has already shipped! Thank you so much!! :grouphug:

hi Heather!:wave2: I sit in my recliner with a laptop too!!!!!!! hopefully yours will be back soon! cant wait to see your creations!

so, who is going to be at te dismeet?????? any chance you could webcam the rest of us in?????:rotfl:

Was it grooved panelling though? This one has these thick grooves in it about every 2 inches.

I've painted over paneling several times & it ALWAYS looks better afterward. Just remember to clean the walls well & prime them before you paint. I usually fill in the grooves with spackle first, but you don't have to.

MaidMarion, your dd is so cute and you did a great job on all of those customs!!

I've had a productive weekend - 5 pairs of Easy Fits and one Feliz! I didn't find the Feilz too difficult, especially with the Trillium blog sew-along, but it definitely isn't one that you can just "whip up" real quick!

Here's Ella in her new Feliz -

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!!!!!

I love this dress! Too cute & that fabric is great!

Seriously, ya'll talk to much! :goodvibes I was gone 2 1/2 days over MLK & it took me a week to catch up! There was a lot of super cute stuff posted. I hope everyone's kids are feeling better now.

I'm forcing myself into lurker mode to get stuff done (it's working) but I had to jump in and say I love it!  So does Jayden! :rolleyes1

Don't you wish we could arrange/organize our own smilies on the first page so we wouldn't have to go looking for our favorites? :thumbsup2

I hate when they move the smilies!!!
I was thinking that that blue Leia would look great on Jayden!

Does Spirit fly out near you? Sign up for airfare alerts if they do. We got tickets out of Chicago for $9 the other week! Coming home is $89, but a great deal anyway!

Don't you just love a deal like that!

Please do!! I just approved a bunch of people this morning. You will just have to verify your email. There is lots of room for pixie dust on the Gives in the "full" category!

Sorry that we can't webcast you in but we can take lots of pictures that we can post when we get home!!!

This is why I can't get any sewing done today. HK (Hunter's Kitten) loves to sit on anything I want to cut.

Thank you for this picture. That reminds me of a cat that I used to have that used to do the exact same thing. I used to have to put in a different room with the door shut to be able to sew. He was solid black and crazy as all get out.

LOL! That would suggest that I actually have a plan! My 2yr old picked it out. I wanted the light pink one. Not a soul around here wears anything like this. I just thought it would be fun for her and thought maaaaybe I could have her wear it under some future dress. People here dress their kids so casual, Megan is the only one who wears bows in her hair- all the other little girls want to look at her bows and touch them. I get so much joy out of dressing her up and she says "Megan looks pretty!"
Theres nothing but snow and more snow on the way around here, so maybe in the spring I will have something planned.

I blame this board, i would have never seen one of these if not for you all!

as for me, I have:sick: no voice, sore throat, no fever thank goodness! but my asthma is acting up and poor Megan still has a fever. She doesnt feel as hot, but still a little walking heater. First day of her life she wore her jammies all day. She asked me to get her dressed several times, but I knew DH wouldnt want me to.
I hope you both start feeling better soon. It is so miserable to be pregnant and sick.

Lydia is doing better, but she still has a fever, so she won't be going to school tomorrow. She was REALLY upset about that!
Her teacher sent a note home with the kids on Friday (Arminda picked up Lydia's homework and papers for her) that said this is going through the whole kindgergarten, and to keep the kids home for 24 hours after they've had a fever. I guess it's quite catchy!
Glad to hear she is improving. Hope she is 100% soon. It sounds like she really likes school.
OK...so we are going to WDW!!!! For the 1st time ever in November (During Thanksgiving Week). Some family/friends have a time share and booked 2 suites for 10 of us (1-2 bedroom & 1-1 bedroom). We are so excited.

We live in Cali, so we have no clue about any of this WDW, stuff!! Just Disneyland!!

Any tips? Suggestions. We are going for 7 days. Only $500 for a family of four to stay at the Bonnet Creek for 7 days...wow...pretty good right?

But the flight & park tickets are going to kill us :) LOL!!

What do you suggest we must do/see and what can we afford to miss?? We are mid 30's and our kids are 14 years & 5 years (will be).

I have heard of this book written by a old Disney Castmember that tells of all the ways to save $$ while booking your vacation...have you heard of it? Is it worth it?

I have 8 months to plan, and 3 kids Custom Outfits to make!! Yay!!!
Char

I am so excited for May. I whipped up 2.5 outfits already and I only made the reservations to go last week. My OCD is kicking in.

I cased this from ebay (I saw it last year sometime and loved it). I just need to ruffle the yellow strips and attach to the pants. I want to wait until closer to the trip in case someone has a growth spurt.

I am going to make a double layer twirl skirt in the blue stars fabric to go with this but I wanted to share because I am so proud of myself for how nice this looks. (And I ran out of yellow thread so I still have to satin stitch the yellow parts.)
