I KNOW, AND I SPENT MY MONEY THIS SATURDAY! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sad2:

I'm sure it won't last to long! As long as we are healthy for DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last Feb we were at the Celebration hospital for (I can't remember how long! :hourglass

We were there 6 HOURS.:crazy2: We wouldn't let DGD4 touch anything. We made her sit in a stroller and took our SaniHands wipes in with us and kept wiping all our hands. The place was packed. It was after 10pm before we got out of there. We were all so hungry. DGD4 was a trooper through bloodwork and xrays. Thank heavens for her Leapster. It gave her something to do all evening.

Hello everyone. We are getting ready to go to Disney World soon so I have decided that my DD must be themed. I have enjoyed looking around and getting lots of great ideas and facts about all things Disney. I just wanted to share some things I have done so far....
TH_002.jpg

Very cute!

If you mean the Iron on transfer?
I think that is from someone on the Creative DISign boards.
Wish I could give you better directions... thats as close as I can get you :)
Anyone else know more?

Love the Valentines Day Feliz! And Maid Marion, what cute customs! My DD especially liked the one in the picture with Donald :)

I have finally finished my kids chef's Hats....
th_chats.jpg

And I need an apron for church next week... long story... so, it was a great excuse to try the "Oh So Chic" pattern I got from YCMT. I used left over fabric from kids chefs hats and its turning out to be very cute and springy. I need to finish it, but I was so excited about how its turning out I had to post....
th_dapron.jpg

Now DS wants an apron.... maybe his doesn't need the gathered inset ;)

I love the hats and apron! I want to make a chef hat for Lydia.
I finally got some dresses finished. I have 3 done, but then my camera battery died... grrr... so I have to wait for the other 2. Here is one finished. it is a OOAK and it has the cutest Eyelet material that is just perfect for easter or a trip to disney. We will not be keeping this one.

Lori
Cute Lori! I like the Toy Story one too!

Lori, I am not a Pooh fanQUOTE]

Really? :rotfl2:
I'm currently working on a white peasant style dress for my DD to wear under pinafores and jumpers, too. I'm using a McCall's pattern, though, and I'm just about ready to fling it out the window. I'm very very tempted to spend a little extra and go with YCMT instead. Carla's peasant top can be lengthened to a dress, right? Is that what you use?!
Just go buy Carla's pattern! You will NOT regret it!! Yes, it has a dress option, a shirt option and a ruffles option! Go get it!

I realized that I never posted these over here...no where near as nice as the creations on here lately but hey...I sewed for a change! ;)

Jham taught me how to make pillowcase dresses/tops. Here are the directions she gave me:

Take the 44" width of the fabric (no matter what size dress/top), cut what length you want minus about 4" for the contrasting fabric on the bottom (if you are using contrasting fabric) and plus about 3 1/4" for the casing on the top. Cut the contrasting fabric 8 1/2" then fold it over wrong sides together and then stitch it onto the bottom of the main fabric and topstitch. Then sew the side seam. Fold over the casing (iron it down), stitch about 1" from the fold and then stitch another row for the elastic casing. (Use 3/4 inch non roll elastic) The straps are 4 pieces of ribbon 18" long. The buttons are purely decoration.

Those are really cute!
Where is everyone buying pettis nowadays???? I only have 9 months until our next Disney trip...gotta get working on this :rotfl2:

PM me if necessary!

Are there anymore suggestions for places to get pettiskirts somewhat economically???

I've been wondering about petti's too - Hannah (2) loves to be "pretty" - i gave her a dress for Christmas that had velvet at the top and pink satin and then the tullish stuff on the bottom, and she wants to wear "pretty" every day!!!:rotfl2: She is the baby of 6 kids, and I think they are in for a handful with this one!!!!:rotfl: But how much do they usually cost? I think one for her upcoming birthday in June might be a winner!!
I'm searching online for some white pettis now. I hate having to buy for 2 girls, it gets exspensive! Does anyone have problems storing the pettis? They are all tossed in the floor of DD's4 closet. Don't know what to do with them. Now I must see if I can get a good price on 2 white. It seems hard to find just white, or is it me!:confused3 I won't spend $75 on a petti! I have to buy 2 remeber!:rotfl:

I know where you can get pettis for $40 each, they are special order, so it takes about 4 weeks for them to come in. PM me if you want to know the seller.

Hi Guys,

I just connected with my BFF from High school - we havent talked in like 10 years!!!! GUess what she is in to!!!! Bows and sewing!!!!!!!

a crystal garden dot com = she has some really cute stuff!!!!

She may want to join with us on some make a wish projects!!!:cool1:

Gotta love Facebook!!

oh boy - i hope you and Megan feel better really soon!!

How is Lydia tonight???

That is great! I hope she does join!!

Lydia is doing better, but she still has a fever, so she won't be going to school tomorrow. She was REALLY upset about that!
Her teacher sent a note home with the kids on Friday (Arminda picked up Lydia's homework and papers for her) that said this is going through the whole kindgergarten, and to keep the kids home for 24 hours after they've had a fever. I guess it's quite catchy!

OK...so we are going to WDW!!!! For the 1st time ever in November (During Thanksgiving Week). Some family/friends have a time share and booked 2 suites for 10 of us (1-2 bedroom & 1-1 bedroom). We are so excited.

We live in Cali, so we have no clue about any of this WDW, stuff!! Just Disneyland!!

Any tips? Suggestions. We are going for 7 days. Only $500 for a family of four to stay at the Bonnet Creek for 7 days...wow...pretty good right?

But the flight & park tickets are going to kill us :) LOL!!

What do you suggest we must do/see and what can we afford to miss?? We are mid 30's and our kids are 14 years & 5 years (will be).

I have heard of this book written by a old Disney Castmember that tells of all the ways to save $$ while booking your vacation...have you heard of it? Is it worth it?

I have 8 months to plan, and 3 kids Custom Outfits to make!! Yay!!!:cheer2:

Char

Just checking in and catching up! I'm going to be cutting out my very first carla c bowling shirt! I finally broke down and bought that pattern and the scallopini, a-line and simply sweet bundle. I've been waiting all week to take a good look at them!! Well I better get to it before I get to wore out and screw it up!!

I would sign up for the Mousesavers newsletter. It is really helpful. There is a link to cheaper tickets from undercovertourist.com in their monthtly newsletter. It is a good savings.

Also, character breakfast are less expensive. It is smart if you are going to do a meal do the last breakfast and call it brunch. Do your kids know that you are going? Our girls have been earning Disney Dollars. That will be their spending money. That might help with the extras. If they know how much they are going to spend ahead of time.

Sign up for Southwest DING and you will find pretty good airfare. Check often because their rates change quite a bit.

Pettis will fit into a ziplock bag. Then you can just toss them into a box or a drawer.
I know what you're saying about the price. I need 3 ivory pettis for the wedding, and the twins need one each just for dressup. Right now they play in my older niece's bridal slip. It fits them like a strapless gown, right under their armpits.:rotfl2:

Teresa, I think I asked you about these before, but have misplaced the information...pm-ing you!

OK..Here are a couple things I have been working on. This is my first Minnie Head w/ bow!! I am going to be doing a ton of these...:) Love them!!!

I will have modeled pic's soon!!

They are adorable! Just a little FYI for everyone. Those faded Glory girls t-shirts, like the one she used here in this picture, were on clearance for $1. in my local Wal-mart yesterday. They had 2 whole racks of them in assorted colors. I bought a whole lot!

Everything is adorable!

MaidMarion, your dd is so cute and you did a great job on all of those customs!!

I've had a productive weekend - 5 pairs of Easy Fits and one Feliz! I didn't find the Feilz too difficult, especially with the Trillium blog sew-along, but it definitely isn't one that you can just "whip up" real quick!

Here's Ella in her new Feliz -

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!!!!!
Beautiful! so sad Nikki is too old for the Feliz!

Lori I love everything!!!!! What dress pattern do you use? Is it the simply sweet?

I

Thanks for the compliment and birthday wish for my DD!

For the pillowcase dress, I didn't have an actual pillowcase, either. I just folded the fabric in half and made it into a pillowcase, leaving the top open. Then I followed the instructions from there. Does that make sense? I'm not very good at explaining things. I'm no Carla :rotfl:
Thanks!

How wrinkled do they get in the ziplock? Nikki has 2 and take up half her closet! I can't wait until the weather gets warmer so she can wear them again!

I made these gifts for an old friend from school that I got back in touch with through facebook! I too am loving it!

My organized fabric. Usually it is messy and all thrown around.

103_9019.jpg

I still have alot not on the shelves, but this is a big chunk of everything.

Trying to remember, did I ever post a picture of the race car shirts I made?

Well, thanks for looking. Hopefully, I'll have some more new stuff to show you shortly.

That fabric is gorgeous! Beautiful dress, I really love the old fashioned Pooh the best.

Thank you for reposting Jeanne's directions, I have never made one and am always trying to remember how she said to do it. Maybe I will be smart and bookmark it this time. I love the valentines one; it's adorable. Gosh she has a pretty smile!

Love your easter egg outfits! And your minnie one is soooo cute!

Wow, you have real talent Jessica, but I guess we all knew that. I am so jealous of your appliquing skillz! No, I don't remember any race car shirts, please post them. You have a lot of t-shirts!

This is my second gymbo outfit. We bought the shirts and then went to JoAnns for look for matching fabric. Of course, the colors are a bit weird so I couldn't find any patterned fabric that matched the blue or peachy pink. I was kind of bummed that the pants were going to be so plain but then I found this fat quarter of peachy pink that never matched anything so it's been sitting in my closet for over a year. It went with the shirt perfectly! Megan wanted a close-up of the butterfly to show everyone I did it on her Hello Kitty machine. It has a setting for nice tiny, zig zag stitches! Anyway, I think it turned out very well!

IMG_1087.jpg

IMG_1088.jpg

IMG_1085.jpg

Oh, two more things. I wanted to show the back to show off her hair thing. They charge an arm and a leg for hair accessories when it's really just a bunch of ribbon tied around a hair elastic! I think even I could make that! :lmao: Second, I know I need to get her some spring shoes, the brown and pink sketchers don't really go, do they?

Anyway, have a great Monday everyone!

I have yet been able to get them into ziploc bags. It's a fight, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any hints?

I love that Leia on the blue, it IS very pretty! I had to turn the computer so Lydia wouldn't see that Strawberry Shortcake rollup though (she's still got a bit of a fever so she's home from school today)

Yeah, get a bigger baggie! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Did you read Becca's Wish trip report (llurgy)? I got her petti stuffed into a very small pink bag! She called it a "pink football"! Those bags were tiny. Heather or Brian would know what size ziploc baggie that corespondse to, but I stink at that! Maybe a gallon size?? Funny, I have never thought to put the girls pettis in a ziploc bag though! I think I'll try that!
