I just finished these pj's....I only bought one yard of each, so the tops are completely made up out of my imagination, using what was left!

The girls are thrilled, and can't wait to wear them at Disney in April!

My crazy 10 year old....this is a cheetah girls fabric, you can't really see the emblem...

My six year old...she decided to keep a sweater on underneath, since it's -15 here today!:lmao:

th_100_0276.jpg

These are so cute!!! And your daughters are just adorable!!!!!

Whew, anyone ever just have one of those times when you just cant seem to sew???:rotfl2: I was really stinkin tonight! Im making a round neck top for Hannah, and I sewed the collar on backwards - TWICE!!!! so at that point I called it a night!!!

Here is the simply sweet I made Baby Emily - :rotfl2: it is by far not perfect, not sure what happened where, but do you think its good enough to give to her? I've never sewed for her before,,,,,,,

Wendy, that is sooo cute!!! I love it!!! I really like the ribbon! Funny how mistakes can turn out to be a good thing sometimes!

Needed a place to shout, no one gets it here. For the first time ever:

I MADE TWO BUTTON HOLES!!!!!!!! YAY ME!!!

Thanks for the tutorials!!!

YAY! FOR YOU!!!!

I just got through all 66 pages! I am not even going back to the old thread. We had a nasty nasty computer virus. We went out our computer for 38 days. I have been really busy sewing for out upcoming trip. My older DD did an impromptu photo shoot. She is missing all of her bows, cute shoes and bling but her is a sneak peak of some outfits. Jennwdw is making some really cute new bows for us. I cannot wait to get them. Bowmail is always the best.

Jeanne- As long as you send her back safely I have a Stepsister for you. :)

My DD4 picked Anastasia and DD2 is Drizella.

This is for Chef Mickey's. The babes dress has a red halter with a black Mickey yo yo.

This is the Cruella dress to match my DD2 little 101 puppy set. I am not sold on this one but DD4 loves it so that is what matters.

th_Picture278.jpg

I still have a lot more to share- Brier Rose, Working Girl Cindy, Incredibles, Donald and Daisy, Pocahontas, Pop Century and a Minnie pettiskirt set.
These are all so cute Aimee! Did you do anything with the Mickey colore pettis? I've been waiting to see how those turned out!

Here are her Directions:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2048367
I made these yesterday using her instructions! I have never thought myself a bow maker, so I am pretty pleased with the end result!
this is the first, and it is HUGE! A little too big actually. I think I will give this one away.

RAOK!
The first person who can PM with the names of 2 of my kids can have this bow for free!! It is about 5" across.
Here are the smaller ones I made to go with the first outfits I made for our next trip (pics of those to come later!)

Great job! I'll have to check out Linda's tutorial!
I made a superman outfit for a BIG GIVE and I kept thinking was, Let me make sure that this cape has velcro that way this little boy doesn't got he way that Syndrome did. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2:

This is probably going to sound like a really dumb question, but I have to ask anyway.

So, with CarlaC's patterns there is a 1/4 seam instead of 5/8. Where is that marking on the machine?? :confused3

I see 3/8. 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4. Anyone want to help the brainless??

My Home-Ec teacher tought us to use the side of the presser foot too. I never thought about actually measuring my different machines to see if it actuall WAS 1/4"!

Just wondering, but why are you putting the ties on the outside of the dress? The pattern wants you to put them on the inside. You sew in the ribbon when you are sewing the font to the sides. I've heard people say they didn't understand why the casing and ribbon was needed, but Feliz would swim on my DD if I hadn't put the casing with ties on the dresses I made. Not sure if you were just trying to put your own twist on the pattern?

It doesn't sound like she is putting the ties on the outside. She said those were done. I think she is adding embelishments to the front. At least that's how I read it.

I thought I was just being a bad/lazy seamstress by using the foot as a guide for Seam allowances, but it turns out that I'm just like everybody else. :lmao:

Like I said, I was taught that way! So, you are just very clever to figure it out on your own! :thumbsup2

I know this is really off topic, but I have to ask. I have been a long time lurker on these threads. I have started to sew b/c I have just loved everything I have seen on here. The question is has anyone gone the week of memorial day? I want to go May 22-29 b/c ds will be four on the 26th. Is that a really bad idea? I am asking here b/c it seems like everyone here is a seasoned veteran at WDW. This will be our first trip and I just thought it would be awesome for ds birthday. Any suggestions???
We've gone twice in May and we found that the week of Memorial day is busy. We won't go again. The heat and the crowds made my DD miserable an opinion that she voiced repeatedly. A week before Memorial day isn't so bad.

I am doing the Feliz- well, I finished the ties.
I want to add ribbon across the chest. Can anyone tell me.....
My ribbon is slightly see through and my fabric has a pattern to it, is there anything I can put behind it to keep the pattern from showing thru the ribbon?

I keep thinking about this! Can you put a white ribbon underneath the sheer ribbon? Or iron some interfacing to it (not sure how good that would work, but you could test it on a little pice) or, how about doubling the ribbon?

Does it look bad with the pattern showing? You could just leave it as it too. It might look cute that way.

Sorry, I'm not a big help!

We go every Memorial Day weekend because it's my daughter's birthday. It is pretty crowded, not as bad as summer, but close. It lets up Monday considerably though. We usually go to the park in the morning until lunch, eat and then head back to the hotel for swimming so we are not in the park at the busiest time. The heat can be comparable to summer heat, but we live in Florida so it doesn't bother us.

I think as long as you take it easy and not try to do everything, you will have a great time!

I am in the process of making a little friend of mine a Sleeping Beauty Gown. Her parents are surprising her with a trip to Disney World. She has an appointment at BBB and I thought I would surprise her with a gown just like her favorite princess. Imagine my surprise when the pattern that I knew I had seen was no longer available. I quickly got on e-bay and found the pattern. Now for my question. How do I make this special. Are there any easy tricks that you guys know of? Also if any of you have done one of these gowns could you please post pictures. I lurk on these boards and love all of the outfits that you guys make. My sewing is not nearly as advanced as yours, but I did manage to complete the Mary Poppins Jolly Holiday costume this year with the instruction that I found on the Dis Board. So now for my next challenge....Sleeping Beauty..... Thanks in advance for your time.

I have that magazine. I've been waiting until I think DD is old enough for this one.

Just wondering, but why are you putting the ties on the outside of the dress? The pattern wants you to put them on the inside. You sew in the ribbon when you are sewing the font to the sides. Thanks to you I am almost sure that this will be one of my next smocking projects!!! :rotfl2: I kinda forgot about it until you. ;)

I actually called up and ordered the kit, since you cant buy the fabric by itself. I dont know if I will tackle this pattern, that piping looks tricky. But I have been in love with the fabric since it came out, might as well just tuck it in my stash. It goes up to size 4 in the smaller size option. So even if I dont do it, I have a long time. I probably wont do the smocking though.

As for my Feliz- I am not using ribbon as my ties. I want to use ribbon to decorate the chest of the dress. The ties are on the inside. ;)

I would probably be okay with sharing the design if I made that Walt and Mickey design as long as it was just here. I wouldn't want any copyright people trying to come after me. I share my designs on sewforum.com sometimes. I mostly keep them to myself since I digitize characters and things like that. They are really strict about that.

Thanks, thanks, thanks!!

I am pretty sure, that as long as you aren't using copyrighted images for profit, that it is ok to use. But, whatever you feel comfortable with. . . I am going to have to check out that forum :)

TJ- Thanks for asking. The Mickey Pettis are going to be worn under the Chef Mickey dresses. Also, on Hannah's bday night she is going to wear it with a Snow White appliqued top. They were a huge hit and thank you again. :)

Yay for you making Mary's Jolly Holiday outfit. Will you post a pic of it, please? I'd love to see how it turned out!

Which Sleeping Beauty pattern did you purchase? Simplicity had a very advanced pattern about 12 years ago, and more recently pattern #5835.
If THAT'S the one you have, the only "trick" I can think of is to make sure you use a heavy interfacing in the collar. I've made several using this pattern; there are pictures all over Facebook but I don't have them.

poohnpigletCA, where are some Aurora pictures?

What kind of fabrics are you using? broadcloth? cotton? calico? satins?
Good luck!

Why did they move the banana???   I love it when I'm right!!!

It happens so rarely!!!

No problem! :thumbsup2 Of course, the Chef Mickey dress!

First off here are a couple new things . . .

DD2 as Working Girl Cindy and DD4as Briar Rose-

They are wearing these to the BBB before their princess transformation. I think they turned out pretty cute. :)

The Incredible are the coolest in our house these days. DD4 practices doing splits over top chairs like Elastigirl. They both love Violet. I used cheap fabric from Walmart for these and I wish I did not. I had more problems making this dress than any other. Go figure????

Thanks!!! I figured that is what we would have to do anyway. With a 4 year old and a 18 mo. old I knew we would definately be taking breaks. We live in Texas so I figure we can handle the heat. I guess that makes up my mind. May 22-29 here we come!!!!

The rest are DD2 sets to match DD4. DD2 was in a very corporative mood today. That is not the norm. Do you notice that DD2 is wearing ballet slippers? The only time I can get them off her feet is when it is bath time!

**** We skipped the pettiskirts today.****

This is the one that I made my dd last year. I used Simplicity 9384.

Aimee, I tried to talk Megan into Briar Rose's dress this year and she said no! I will have to show her all the cuteness she is missing. Great job on all of them, they are all beautiful.

Yesterday I was feeling a little better so I made a rag quilt for my neighbor who just had a baby. It went together so much faster than the first one I made! Once you know what you are doing, they just fly. I hope she doesn't mind the pink, it's for a boy, but that's the flannel I had on hand.

I love the working girl idea for before BBB. What a cute idea. That is adorable!

Aimee...love all the dresses! They are fabulous! I wish I had time and fabric to make some of those! And your girls are getting big!

Steph..love that quilt. I don't think the pink makes it look girly. I love all colors for boys and girls!

I finally bought the pet shop material. now off to HL to try and sneak some more material!

For the record Fairygoodmother I thought I was not allowed on the disboutiquers page because I keep finding to many cute things for you to sew. Because you have lots of sewing for your daughters wedding, you have already thought up things to sew and for crying out loud we are not going until October give you some time.

Is it wrong that I am most excited about what clothes they will be wearing on the trip?

Oh if you want to try something cool for Aurora you could always try this.....
