I love these! They're iron ons right? Do you have any tips or tricks that you'd recommend for them? I did one iron on a long time ago and it was a disaster when I washed it. It all came off. I've been scared to do iron ons ever since.[/QUOTE]

They are iron ons. The transfer papaer makes a big difference. Avery and Hp work well. The stuff they sell t Michaels is a nightmre. Mke sure you wash the shirts (just detergent, no fabric softner) before ironing on. My kids have a lot of shirts I hve ironed on, they are all still on although they do start to crack after a ton wearing and washing.

Ok, ladies. I hope this questions doesn't sound too bizarre. My oldest is 6.5, 48 lbs and about 48". He is riding in a booster seat but I am going to look into to putting him back into a car seat like the ones mentioned. His brother and sister are in Britaxes: a Marathon and a Boulevard. We origianlly moved him to a booster out of a 5 pt. harness because he was complaining about his private parts being squished (and it being painful). At the time we couldn't adjust the seat we had to make him more comfortable. So, I guess what I am asking is that does anyone have any boys in these seats? Is there enough room "down there"? Thanks for your help.

On the subject of car seats. My neighbors are in their early 50's and they had a surprise baby come along. Well one day the dad, Jose, is in his SUV fighting with Rosa's car seat. He saw me come outside and he asked if I could help him. He didn't have a clue of how to put the car seat in the car. So I showed him how to put the car seat in the car and how to tighten the belt up real tight. Then he looks at me and he says, "We did not have to use these for our other children." It's funny how times have changed. I don't think that my mom had a car seat for any of us children. I definitely don't remember her having for my little sister, but I can't imagine Jenna without one. It kind of scares me.

I was wondering what the "CASE" rules are here. I've been looking through the Photobucket Account and see so many things I would love Madilynn to have.

I absolutely love the Blue Princess Dress that was made this last week too (I'm bad with names). I even had Steve pick up 2 yds of that fabric when he was at Walmart :)

I've gotten all the stuff to try to make Madilynn a Minnie Head shirt to match Drew's & Ryan's shirts from the Big Give (Thanks Heather for your help). Now I just need to get the guts up to actually try it:thumbsup2

I'm so glad you're sewing again! Especially while Madilynn is young enough to enjoy it! I found myself trying to talk another mom into taking up sewing at Lily's dance class yesterday. I mean she has a DD3 and a 6 month old girl, she NEEDS to sew, right? So when she expressed an interest and appeared to be a crafty girl, I told her she needs to go buy a machine TODAY! :rotfl:

I guess I'll head into my sewing room and work on a couple pairs of easy fit pants. Then I can mark one more thing off my sewing list.

Nothing like a couple pairs of easy fit pants to make you feel like you accomplished a lot in a little time! My new machine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow so I'm waiting to get going again! popcorn:: I do need to embroider another dwarf today though. I've only got 3 out of 7 done.

She is due the end of august, so I guess about 2 1/2 months. They thought she had lost the baby a few weeks ago then discovered she had not and thought that maybe she was carrying twins and one died. They also had a miss carriage last summer and have been trying to have a baby on their own for quite a while! They have also been in the process of adopting from I believe china. They just want to have kids! I feel so terrible for them!! I think they would be great parents! One is a nurse and the other is a special ed teacher! They really are great people, so sweet and giving!! My heart is aching for them right now!!
Sorry probably more than you all wanted to know!

That just breaks my heart! I will be praying for them. I was once in a very similar situation (lost my first child, in process of adopting, spotting with pregnancy) Fortunately that turned out to be Jayden but I understand just wanting a baby soooooooooooo badly! I hope this pregnancy has a happy ending.

Hey Teresa I can not get to the tinytreasures page on the give board. When I click on the link under current gives it goes to a blank page. I got to it from your link on the old disboutique thread??????

Tracie

Tracie, these are my favorite wish trip shirts EVER! And you've done some great ones!

A little late, but I made it here!!!

Also wanted to share that dh and I are finally DVC owners at Bay Lake Tower! We have been wanting to buy into DVC but dh really wanted to wait until Bay Lake Tower was for sale...and with the current incentive, he figured we should go for it! I am so excited, and we get 5 night stay at a 1 BR villa for our next trip...so we are staying at POP for 5 nights, and at Beach Club for another 5 nights. Kirsten will turn 6 during our trip and she requested to stay at POP century.

About car seats, I have both my 5 and 3 yo in a Britax Marathon. I think I might upgrade Kirsten to either a Regent or Frontier sometime. I don't feel comfortable with her riding in a booster, so I am keeping her in a 5 point harness.

I found something new last night that I wanted to share. I don't know if it's bookmarked or if it was linked from another bookmark...either way, thanks, Teresa!

If you're looking for something in particular, you should of course start with the Disboutique fabric swap thread!!!

BUT if that doesn't work, try missingfabrics.com

You can scan a swatch, tell people as much as you know about it, and fabric store owners and fabric lovers on the net will start looking for it for you!
The site's owner estimates 65-70% success rate.

Welcome Home! I know there a a few people here that also own DVC. There is a forum for DVC that you can read and learn more about the in's and out's of banking, borrowing, points, etc. Congrats on your DVC:yay:

Men!! They don't understand anything. I swear if I was taller I wouldn't need one.:
This cracked me up!!!! LOL!!

UGH! I lost the picture! Tom, I love the Minnie outfit for Leighanna!! What is she going to be wearing to ESPN when we meet her?

Thanks! I am in the process of making "lifestyle changes" myself (I don't like the words diet and excerise) I have actually gone from a size 12 to an 8 since October
Wow, this is great!! I'm hoping to be able to say the same thing in a few months!

I've lost 5lbs in the last 1 1/2 weeks. My dad has diabetes and he tested my blood sugar for me. It was 160-something and that freaked me out! So, I am trying to eat like he does. Henry is pre-diabetic, so we have to make some changes.

HEATHER called Samantha UGLY right to her FACE! I was stunned!
I most certainly did NOT! I said "You aren't very cute, are you?" :snooty: Come on, she has some buck teeth on her, that Samantha!

So no flaming us for not wearing rings.)
Henry doesn't wear his ring after breaking 3 of them at work and almost tearing off his finger. It drives me nuts to wear rings, so I just wear mine when I go away.

You did a fantastic job, Marlo!

That is so pretty! I love the trim you used in the front!

I have to thank you all, I just completed Carla C's A-line top and never finished a top so quickly, or without having to remove seams!!!!!!!!!! (well almost - I still have to do the buttons and button holes, but I only have two bobbins and don't want to waste a whole bunch of thread swiching colors until I finish the second top)

THANKS
Emily
Yay!! We're so proud of you!! :cheer2: How about a picture?

Great job, Alison!! He looks so cute in it, too!

All of the outfits are great! This one is so different, I love it!

OMG, I am in the begging stages but we just might do a WDW trip THIS month! We have wdw tickets, a great water back pack, and we are NOT staying onsite. I am seeing flights/rooms for around $270 per person!!!! Now i just need to convince hubby that we NEED to go NOW!!!

Any adult customs ideas that could be done within a week??? (and VERY cheaply)
Woo-hoo!! That is great news!!!

Fleece pyjamas with the Easy Fit pants CarlaC pattern, worn with the equally stylish Shirt of Skulls.

You did a great job on everything!!

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this because I'm brand new to this forum. I am so in awe of everyone's talent! I've been lurking a lot over the last few days and keep coming across the cutest Mickey fabric. It's a lime green fabric with multi-colored Mickey head "swirls" on it. Does anyone know where I might find some of this fabric? I don't sew, but my mom does (a little), and I'd love to make something for my DD out of this fabric. Any help/advice is appreciated.

Kendall
I don't know where to find the fabric, but :welcome:!!

Don't feel bad- I bought a BOLT of the red dot. I have fabric issues lol.
I can't imagine anyone doing that. :rolleyes1

That is ADORABLE!

Really!!??? The WHOLE BOLT!!?? I don't know ANYONE else that would do such a thing! :

But, I will tell you this, when Heather went to buy some at our Joanns the day after I had been there, the entire bolt had already been bought!
Yeah, and the next bolt was mysteriously missing after I visited the store again.:confused3

The Big Give has motivated me to sew again. This is what I made to get started.

You did a great job on the hat! Any picture of Madilynn makes my day! Love the pic of Drew with Mickey!

Ok, in defense of my dear Northern friends, I will admit.........

I have bought more than one bolt of the red dot fabric

But I swear I can quit anytime LOL

But it wasn't my fault. (Ok the first bolt WAS my fault). But The second one I did not mean to buy it all. The woman at the cutting table was so snarky I HAD to buy it all. And would you believe she still mentions it EVERY time I see her in the store?

In my defense, just today I was at Joann's (again), and dear sweet Morgan had a death grip on a bolt of Tinkerbell fleece. She looks up and me with that sweet little face and says "Mommy we can get it all right?" Now HOW am I supposed to say no to that?

Signed,
"She who must own ALL the fabric"
:rotfl:

While I'm at it, any ideas on how to pitty train a STUBBORN selective potty trainer? She was in panties for a month and decided she was going to wear pull ups instead. She knows what she is doing and some days she will do great and then other days she just says no, and comes tell you when she has done something in her pants. It's so frustrating!
I am going through the same thing with Sawyer. He CAN do it, but he won't! He stayed dry for almost a week, and then he decided it would be fun to pee on the floor NEXT to the potty. I have given up for the time being.

I never would have imagined playing in #2, but yet she has done about 5 times
Sawyer did this 3 times. It was absolutely digusting!! The thing that stopped him was when his grandma yelled at him for it. He hasn't done it since (fingers crossed).
That's perfect for her, Jessica!

I was wondering what the "CASE" rules are here. I've been looking through the Photobucket Account and see so many things I would love Madilynn to have.

Generally it's fine to CASE the things in photobucket, just as long as you're not selling them. It's really bad manners to do that! But, most of us don't mind if you make them for your personal use.

No problem, my dear!

It really is a great pattern. And it includes the doll pattern too. I have used it several times with no problems whatsoever.

I love the fleece hoodies!

Another good thing about it is there are directions on how to turn adult t-shirts into shirts for kids. I *probably* could have figured it out, but it's nice that Carla included them. I had a t-shirt that had a hole in the bottom and instead of throwing it away I made this:

IMG_0895.jpg

So you could start with some old t-shirts for practice and then work up to what you buy. Good luck!

I usually try sewing on scraps when I am doing something new. I used the same material to see how it works. Great shirt! Your daughter is adorable and I love the way your little dog gets into the pictures.

Thanks for your help.

My daughter is 47" tall and 46lbs and she's in the Britax Regent with plenty of room to spare. I can't help you out on the room "down there" issue, though. But, I'm sure it would be fine!

Sawyer is in the Britax Boulevard. He never had an infant seat because I hate carrying them around. I'd rather carry my baby than that clunky 'ol seat. The Boulevard goes from 5lbs-65lbs, I believe. I turned him to front facing when he was 18 months. I wanted to keep him rear-facing longer, but our seat belts are weird in our Tahoe. There's only 1 place where Tessa's car seat will work and the other spot wouldn't allow us to buckle him in rear-facing and get it tight enough.

Does anyone else have a child where clown is looking like a viable option for lifetime occupation? This child utterly drives me crazy. Yesterday we were at Brownies and the girls were practicing selling cookies. There was one Brownie who was way sillier than all the other girls. I also noticed that she is a head taller than almost all the other girls. When did she get so tall?

Anyway, yesterday I cut up some of her jeans and played around with the leftover fabric to make her this:

IMG_1065.jpg

Don't expect to see a close up of that zebra any time soon! I kept looking at Jeanne's trying to get him close and hers are much cuter!

Oh, and if anyone wants any girl scout cookies, let me know. When they were discussing goals, the girls said they wanted to sell enough to go to Disney World! Their leaders said that was quite a lot of cookies they would have to sell!

Just checking in!!
Things are crazy here this week with the party coming up this weekend!! Also Miss Sophia has a dr. appointment to see the surgeon she has been saying her hernia bump hurts. I'll keep ya posted!!

And prayers please for my sil she is pregnant and was hemmoraging today and they said the baby has a 50/50 shot.

Thanks Guys!!

You will be in my thoughts/prayers - both about the hernia and your SIL.

Neat idea.

Well I have just about completed my marathon "spinny skirt" session. 3 skirts in 72 hours. :scared1:

I don't know which is scarier hand pinning all the gathers for the double ruffles or the fact that I made all three from fabric I had on hand:upsidedow

Oops almost forgot I also made a matching doll spinny skirt.
Hey that sounds awesome...do we get to see pictures?? Pretty please???!!

I will be praying for your SIL. How sad.

thanks for answering my ? about do I make the Southern Belle dress of just dress her up. Nikki is so go with the flow she doesn't care. I just don't want her to be the only one dressing up. She doesn't care if she is the only one decked out either way remember this s the girl who wears her petti skirts to Walmart and would wear a Tiara all day if i let her! :lmao: She would also never think to ask me to actually make her something she just isn't like that. She NEVER asks for anything! when my sil took her to Toys R us to pick out stuff for Christmas the only thing she picked out was a book!
My thought on it is if i go through all the trouble will she wear it only once? I figured I could make on of carla's Peasant dresses but fancy with a big sash on the back and maybe some rick rac on it. Or save me the trouble ad she can wear a Petti skirt. UGh what to do what to do!!!!!

Any other suggestions???? I am torn!!!
Aww that Nikki sure is a little sweetheart, isn't she!!! I personally love the pettiskirts...(my DD has worn them to Walmart and Target too..lol). Anyway, I say if you have the time and want to make her something else than go for it. You know Nikki will love it and you will too. Now for me, I have to admit that a few of the things I have made for Taylor have only been worn once or twice BUT I have the beautiful pictures to prove it. I am a huge photo freak and I know there are times I want the outfits to fit the theme....AKA...Disney themed outfits for WDW or in your case...a period costume for the school event....hahahaha.

Seriously, I am NO help at all!!! LOL

I will tell Nikki she isn't alone!!!!

It is so EASY! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have made knit shirt and fleece shirt with and with out hoods. I made pj's for my niece and short sleeved shirts for my nephew! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

A "clown" huh?? Maybe she will grow up to be in the La Nouba (spelling....? too lazy to look it up right now)...hahahahaha.

Seriously, that kid of yours cracks me up and actually reminds me of my little Taylor. Way too funny!!!

Ohh and I love what you did with her jeans. I just got some hand-me-down (love hand-me-downs) jeans for Taylor and I am thinking about doing something with them...not sure what yet??? lol

It's official- Sophia will have her hernia repaired on Feb. 6th!! I know it is only day surgery but I'm still nervous!!! But I am also glad it's finally set. We have had this hanging over us for over a year now, and knew the day would come eventually!!

Hang in there-
Morgan had a repair done shortly after she came home. She was fine- I was a BASKET case!!!!!! We went to a day clinic-her surgeon was WONDERFUL!!!!!! She was up and back to herself the next day.

I'm going crazy! I can't multi-quote on this thread! I have went through 2x and clicked on everything I wanted to comment on. Each time when I click "reply" they're all gone! I just tried to quote, without multi-quoting and that didn't work, either! ARGH!

Let's see if I can remember everything.

Steph: I love those zebra pants, and your silly girl!

Tracie
: The Big Give t-shirts are wonderful! Thank you so much for doing those!

Anna: I'll be praying for your friend and her baby.

I'll also pray for you and Sophia. I know it's a pretty common surgery, but I'm sure it must scare you anyway.

EnchantedPrincess::banana:   For you on becoming a DVC owner! I am officially jealous!

I would like to ask anyone who has the inclination to pray for my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Jenny. She's in the hospital. She had a DNC and some other procedure done almost a month ago because she was having terrible cramps and lots of bleeding between periods. Well, she has had lots of problems with pain and fevers since then. They admitted her to the hospital yesterday when the pain was so bad she couldn't even walk. They THINK she has an infection in her uterus, a urinary tract infection, and that she's passing a kidney stone. I don't understand how all of that could happen at once. I am so worried about her. She is all by herself in the hospital because her husband went to work today and then he has to be home with their 4 kids this evening. I just can't stand the thought of her in the hospital all by herself. She lives 4 hours away and the roads are too bad for me to drive up there.

ETA:I just called her a minute ago and now they think that it's not a kidney stone, but they still don't know what it is. She's on all sorts of drugs, but she said she's still in terrible pain. They're talking about doing exploratory laproscopic surgery of her abdomen. My poor Jenny.:sad2:
