This is for travel day. I copied the clip art image from a diser on the disign board. I had saved it a few years ago (before I sewed) with the intention of doing iron-ons. Never got to the iron-ons but decided to applique it instead.

We will be in EPCOT during the flower and garden festival so this Vida was made with that in mind.

Both of those are ADORABLE! I was thinking that I should make myself something for my trip in May. I may have to do something similar to your Mickey flowers. That is just precious!

Here is the quilt I am making for my BFF's bday - its in the wash again to help it fray - what cycles do you use to get it to fray the best?

the front is the dots, and the back is flannel stripes and solids.....

I love those colours together. It came out great.

Turned out great! Like the pink and green. Really cute.


You may remember the half yard of hearts and ladybug fabric I got from the remnants section at Joann a week ago... I decided to go for a skirt and kind-of used the 5-minute skirt tut from Angry Chicken.... but I spent so, much more time than 5 minutes
Anyway... this is what I ended up with!

I am happy with it. I used a soft stretchy knit folded over (don't remember what its called, used for t-shirt collars, and sleeve cuffs?) for the waist band as DD2 has the cute little baby belly and struggles with skirts, I wanted this to be super comfy for her. I added the ruffle, but its not that full of a ruffle since I was working with only a half yard.
She has a simple pink shirt to go over it, for preschool on Wednesday, when they are doing Valentines day, and I am planning on her wearing it to a church breakfast on Saturday also.
Tonight she had no patience for trying it on... it was a game - put it on, pull it off, repeat. So, I have no model. Maybe on Wednesday she will cooperate .

First I have to say that making a dress for the flower festival is genius and yours is so cute Stacey!
Yes little slept through dinner but Jeanne took lots of pics of the lilies getting their first haircuts that morning. Jeannes family was so wonderful. Mac and Seth really got along and jayden was so great with lily. Mike was kind enough to take Mac with their big kids on the rides while we got the girls hair cut. And when little insisted on being held and I was completely wiped out he took her regardless of the grumpy face she gave him. My batteries are dying I'll post more later.

My husband came home this evening and told me, with a little Cheshire Cat grin, that he has to go to Long Beach for a conference at the CSU Chancellor's Office next month. He requested permission to take me.

We'll stay (all expenses on the state of California, thank you very much) in Long Beach for 3 nights, and since we'll be so close we'll spend the final day at the Land before driving home. Just the two of us!

The good news is that I don't have to sew like crazy for the next month. The bad news is I have to find someone to watch my daughter.

My husband came home this evening and told me, with a little Cheshire Cat grin, that he has to go to Long Beach for a conference at the CSU Chancellor's Office next month. He requested permission to take me.

We'll stay (all expenses on the state of California, thank you very much) in Long Beach for 3 nights, and since we'll be so close we'll spend the final day at the Land before driving home. Just the two of us!

How genius is your Vida! I Love the colors, Micky flowers, Everything. The Epcot Flower show is beautiful! I am always in awe of their rose gardens.

1.) I didn't realize that either! Is Nikki 8? Arminda will be 11 in May. Arminda is very very tiny. She is only 3 inches taller than Lydia, who just turned 6! We figure by next year they will be about the same size! You wouldn't believe how many medical tests they did on Arminda when she was a baby to find out why she was so tiny! She didn't hit 20 pounds until she was 2. After all the thousands of dollars in testing and specialists, they came to the brilliant conclusion that "she's just small" !! (obviously, that still bugs me 10 years later!)

2.) You know what! Lydia and Arminda were going to watch a movie last night, so they asked me what they should watch. I suggest Mary Poppins, and Lydia said, "I don't like to watch Mary Poppins"!!
I think it was something in this warm air that is blowing through that made the kids go a little crazy! Oddly though, Lydia wants me to make her a Jolly Holiday dress for our trip!

Nik is also tiny and always was too. her and Kyle are the same weight. Actually Kyle might be more! She just looks tall because she is all legs! Kyle and Liddy are the same age

That dress is awesome! Wow!!

Lost my quote about the potholder but you may have just helped me decide on what to make for my FE gift on our cruise. I really wanted to make something homemade and I think I could simplify it by using pre-quilted fabric and bias tape. I think I need to make like 50 of them!

I was hoping you knew it was Earth with Mickey ears. It might not be so obvious. I also thought Lauren could wear it on Earth Day in April.
