Hi guys!!!!!:wave2: Hope you are having a great time! Say hi to Tink for me!

Here is what I bought yesterday on my fabric day! I used money I made selling some scrapbooking stuff. Had a blast! Dh almost had a heart attack when I told him I spent all my money! HEHE!:cool1:

I got tulle to make a tutu and this fabric was too cute! Have no clue what I am going to do with it!

I found Very Hungry caterpiller! They also had Brown bear but I will get that next time!

DD13 picked out the purplish one. she wants me to make a shirt for her.

Had to have this print! So pretty. Gonna make shorts for DD5
DSCF0758.jpg

Have a dress in mind for this! LOVE this print. I am going back for more because I think it would make a great Feliz...they had a few more coordinating fabrics too
DSCF0757.jpg

And finally...some heart fabric, some fabric for a purse and some squares to make a patchwork twirl.
DSCF0756.jpg

I also got 4 large spools for my new serger and some needles. All in all I spent $100! I could have spent $500 if I had the money.

LOVE these fabrics!!! Where do you shop?! You got a TON of goodies for $100!!!

Where did you find this? Wow..I have only found it on line. I wish I could find a store that carried it still!! I love that book & am making my daughter a dress out of it for her first day of Kindergarden this year!!! What a great find!!

We are having a great time here at WDW.

Donald loved this dress and danced around the restaurant with Leighanna

The CM's at Tony's loved Leighanna's dress. They surprised her by giving her a stuffed Tramp and a set of Lady and the Tramp pins!

OMG!!! Adorable Pic's....I love both outfits!! But the pic with Donald is so fantabulous!!!! You are extremely talented....and look how happy all that hard work makes your daughter!!! Amazing!!

I've been following, but mostly window shopping as I had a cruise planned and sadly enough only 1 day at Disney. We're back and hubby has agreed to a mother/daughter trip this fall. My daughter is already all excited about planning her outfits. She will be almost 10 when we go and it will be for her golden birthday. I've been looking on YCMT for patterns and was wondering what you guys suggest for a tween. She wears a size 10 plus in pants and 12/14 in shirts. Has anyone had success with patterns other than Carla's? I was looking at the criss cross pattern, round neck top and possibly the aline. How hard is it to adjust Carla's patterns for bigger sizes? The aline only goes up to a size 8- 27" chest and DD is a 29/30 chest. Thanks for helping and hopefully will have pics soon to show for our mother/daughter trip. I'm an excessive planner and will have them done inplently of time before!!! I will, I will, I will...

I love love love the VHC fabric. :) This is my daughter from her first day of PreK last year. I managed to buy enough extra fabric to do some spring outfits for the girls this year. I found mine by google search but it was a year ago.

We sound a lot of like. My DD and I did a mother daughter trip last fall. We had a lot of fun but boy was it hot!!! Carla's patterns are great. I also think there is a tween flounce layered skirt. That might be one to check out. I know that Carla posted before how to size up her patterns. Does anyone have that saved?

OT because I didn't make DD's dress, but I wanted to share a few pics anyway. We were on the waiting list for a ticket to the Daddy Daughter Dance and I found out about 5pm the night before the dance. I opted to save myself some stress and buy a dress. However, I did get it at a steal. It was on the clearance rack for $11. The only thing I made was the updo :)

Here is my beautiful little 6yr old all grown up.

Ooh! I hope so, I would love to have that info.

I saved it - I hope she doesn't mind me posting again.

I was looking at the size charts in my patternmaking textbook, and it seems like the larger "tween" sizes increase pretty proportionally. I did the math to get the differences in the sizes so that the pattern pieces could be scaled up on a copy machine.

to go from an 8 to a 10, scale up 103%
to go from an 8 to a 12, scale up 106%
to go from an 8 to a 14, scale up 110%

to go from a 10 to a 12, scale up 103%
to go from a 10 to a 14, scale up 106%
to go from a 10 to a 16, scale up 110%

You'll want to go to a place like Kinko's that has nice machines so you can adjust the scale to whatever you want, and also so you can select a larger paper size (I think you can go up to 11X17 in most machines).

I haven't tried this personally (I just do the scaling in my drawing program), but these are the percentages I would use. This should work for most patterns (not just mine) that are free-fitting like the peasant top/dress. With more fitted styles, keep in mind that as girls develop, the hip/waist ratio changes, and also the bustline changes. So for something like the a-line, scaling up might not work. Boys are easy - they stay pretty much the same until they either get big muscles or a beer belly !

So sweet! The dress is great and what a deal. And we all agreed that her Daddy's tie is perfect!
I hope they had a wonderful time.

Im back on page 169, but I just got back from my trip to my parents-I even took a couple pics I can share.
The good news is, I was able to push myself and managed to make several things for them- split pea w. ham soup is now in their freezer, Mexi-Chicken is in their frig (bought them a crock pot as an early Valentine's gift) and made baked cod last night for them. I changed sheets on their beds and my Mom said my Father perked up a lot when Megan came to visit.
The bad news is the cyphplasty surgery was cancelled because the Drs have changed their minds and feel it will be of no help. Some new test results came in on Friday and they now know, not only is the cancer in his lymph nodes, but its in his bones. They are planning to begin radiation within another week that will go everyday for the next 12 weeks. In addition to the hormone treatments.
I have a sinus headache.
But with DH gone all week, we all need at least dinner out, so we are going to a local Japanese Steak house for dinner.
I finish my Feliz and Ill be back to comment on whats between 169 and this page Im writing on.

The Aline is cut on a fold so I wonder if it would be easy to just cut it bigger on the fold but I don't know if the armholes would fit that way????

It has finally begun to warm up! Now only needing a jacket or coat early in the morning or late at night!

We have dinner tomorrow with the princesses! Leighanna is looking forward to it!

Great stuff posted, I just skimmed, but have seen some great stuff!

Can you please post some more pics of the donald outfit.

Wendy, what WalMart did you go to? I hit the Pennsville NJ Walmart today, only to find their fabric 50% off and a sign saying that May 20 would be the day that the fabric dept would turn into the "Celebration Center".:sad2: I got about 40 yards of fabric. :crazy2: My husband has not seen it yet. Got several yards each of LPS, tink, tweety bird, spongebob, mickey, blue princesses, a pink paisley, bright flowers, and the list goes on and on. I think I will hit the Walmart again this week, try to get more solids. Hopefully it will last.

I think that is the walmart she was going to tonight. She said it was in New Jersey but I don't know where. That is so awesome that you got to stock up on fabric at that price! I am jealous ;) . I don't think your husband will mind.....you paid half price for it right? :rotfl: Just kidding......my husband would probably flip too....even if it was free!
