I can't remember from my last deluxe stay, are there the small paper/Styrofoam cups in the rooms for the coffee maker/water or real cups?

I actually prefer the small disposables.

Real cups. Check out post #4 on this thread. There's a picture of the coffee maker, cups and supplies. :thumbsup2

Hubby and I have a BB offer at WL for November. All they have left is bunk bed rooms. I just called and tried to get a room request for a king bed or two queens, courtyard view. The women told me she could request it but when I got the invoice it wasn't on it. I called back and was told they can't do that because it's a room category change (even though it's cheaper).

All they can guarantee is the category that you have booked. You can usually make other requests though that will be considered by the room assignor when they choose your room. I don't think requests usually show up on the invoice, but as long as you get them to put them in your file, the assignor will try to accommodate them. I haven't ever had done a request that directly conflicted with the category like that though. You might wind up having to be more generic, like saying pool view or single king bed or something to let them know you don't need the bunks. It probably depends on the CM entering the data. It is possible though that all of the rooms you are requesting will be booked up, and you may end up with the category you have reserved. Either way, good luck and enjoy your trip!

That stinks.
Yeah, but I can see how it happens. They have bookable categories, and if one is sold out, there's no guarantee that there will be rooms available in that category. Looking at it the other way, I can see someone being quite disappointed if they had a courtyard king booked and wound up with a woods bunk, even though that room costs more...

A complicating factor is that sometimes certain discounts are only available for certain categories, so there may actually be other rooms available, but not at the discounted price. That's where you hope the room assignor can switch things around to make as many people happy as possible.

Really though, would a woods bunk be that terrible? If you don't get the request met, you could use the bunk bed as a nice place to store your suitcases and stuff. It will be fine.

So, I saw the photo in post #4. Wondering about that wall safe. I know my checkbook, iPhone, and a Nintendo DS would all fit. I will have a cable lock for my laptop since it's too big. But what to do with the Kindle Fire (similar size to a full sized iPad). Will it fit in the safe? I find them to be heavy, and we don't like carrying it around for the tiny amount of times we let the kids use them outside of downtime at home. I'd like to have it for our flight and time in the room, but can I secure a tablet somewhere in the room?

True - my husband doesn't care much. The bigger thing is that we are actually paying more for this room than a courtyard view room (with no bunk beds)...and what we really wanted was a courtyard view. We currently have a woods view. Oh well! At least we are going :)

We found that two full size iPads in Otter Box cases would fit in the safe, and leave room for smaller items too. We also left items out without any problem.

Hello! I'm trying to decide if I should rent DVC points for VWL or go with a standard room for our trip at the end of April 2015. There are four of us (2 adults and 2 young kids). I saw a picture if the views from the standard rooms and I'm not excited about looking out over the service area. How are the views from the DVC studios?

Plastic wear in the studio but there are some real coffee mugs and glasses. Paper plates and bowls. Yes on the griddle. Yes on toaster and dish soap. They also provide a small sponge and dish towel. Extra trash bags are in the trash cans themselves underneath the one being used.

Thank You

I'm no VWL expert, but they are not near the service court. My recollection is that you get either woods views, possibly with parking through the trees at a distance in som areas or views of the quiet pool or main WL building,

I wonder if I called housekeeping they could provide them?

I really like those disposables.

You could always bring some with you. I always throw some in my suitcase (Target sells them). I like to take my coffee to go and it is easier this way ;)

Hello from the Lodge. Relaxing in rocking chair outside of lobby with my cup of coffee. So peaceful. Doing a load of laundry. We have been enjoying the resort and our room location is great. Easy elevator ride down from 5th floor to boat dock, Roaring Forks and lobby. Also liking the boat to Contemporary making the monorail accessible.

Rebecca

Oh... Roaring Forks not so peaceful getting coffee this morning. But rest of the day is has been less busy.

Does anyone know if there are bike racks for folks bringing their own bikes. I would like to ride over to Fort Wilderness a few times while we are there. Thanks in advance.
