They are running buses from the MK to the Polynesian. You could take the WL bus to the MK, then switch to the Poly bus. The two bus stops are right next to each other. The WL bus stops at the CR when the monorail is down, so plan on a little longer trip.

You could also take the boat to MK and then take a boat to the Poly.

Or, you can take a taxi.

How long is the monorail supposed to be down? I have to confess that I have not been following that.

Checking out today. Waiting for Magical Express now. But smiling because I booked a bounce back for 12/11 to 12/15! Excited to see the Lodge decorated for Christmas!

I was told last night that its not down on the weekends. I believe normal hours resume around march 17th ish (don't quote me on that though)

Hi

Could we please be added to the lodge list. We are checking in on 9/1 and checking out on 9/7. It will be me, my husband and my son and daughter. I am nervous because we have never stayed there before and I am not sure what to expect. We stayed at YC last year and I loved the location. My husband and son want to try the WL and so I agreed to try it. Hope that I enjoy it!

You'll love the Wilderness Lodge too. We stayed at the Wilderness lodge last summer. Our previous trip had been to the Yacht Club. I had worried about all the people that described WL as being distant from everything which had prevented me booking for earlier trips. We definitely spent more time at Magic Kingdom but then I love Magic Kingdom. You can't beat the Yacht Club for proximity to dining locations. One thing that was so much better at WL was a sit down quick service. I also didn't miss the trek at the Yacht Club for drink refills.

I am in the process of looking for a different resort and I keep coming back to WL, but I have a few questions. Do any of the courtyard view rooms face the MK or would that be woods view only? Do the busses at WL take you to the MK or do they drop you off at CR ? Which transportation is quicker the busses or taking the boat to MK ? TIA

Possibly OT, but I was wondering whether lunch by the pool is an option at WL? I do not see a food menu for the pool bar. Thanks.

Just wanted to add what our nightly offerings were each night. Every night we had a cheese tray with sharp Cheddar, creamy blue cheese and I believe it was a goat cheese with blackberries, raspberries and dried apricots. Smoked Gouda dip, roasted red pepper hummus with sourdough bread and crackers. Veggie tray with carrots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers and banana peppers with ranch dip. Peanut butter and jelly shooters.
Drinks: cranberry lemonade, unsweet tea, sparking and still water, coke, diet coke, sprite, apple juice. Beer: widmer hefewisen (? Sp), moose head, yengling, bud light. Wine: two vines brand- merlot, Cabernet & Chardonnay. Expresso machine, hot tea and hot chocolate.

Tuesday: BBQ chicken skewers, paella, caprese salad, potato salad

Wed: venison sliders with a spicy mayo and slaw, butternut squash soup (my favorite), spicy sesame chicken salad, turkey and cheese roll ups

Thursday: I know they had Buffalo chili but didn't go so I don't know the rest

Friday: crab Rangoon, beef stew, potato salad, turkey and cheese roll ups

The pool bar does not have a food menu. But Roaring Forks is very convenient to the pool and there is an eating area right outside the door with tables that have umbrellas. It is very convenient because it is so close to both the counter service and the pool. :)

I'll borrow one of Kook's pictures:

See those striped umbrellas just to the upper left of the pool? Those umbrellas belong to the eating area right outside of Roaring Forks, the counter service restaurant. It is a nice place for breakfast, too.

No, she is now at the BBB in the castle!!! Perfect job for her. I know all the "future" princesses love her!!!!
Jess would be a great mentor, too. Her enthusiasm is infectious. :)

We booked a bounce back for December when we were at WL last February. We enjoyed coming back that time of year. :goodvibes

We are big fans of the BC and love the Epcot resort area. But we really like the WL, too. Having a compact resort and a real counter service restaurant is great. And the MK is so close and easy to get to that we found ourselves spending more time than usual at MK. And we loved being on Bay Lake and being able to walk to Fort Wilderness. It makes you forget that you are in WDW. :)

Grrrr! I was hoping the connecting room to the deluxe room would get the option of being CL too. My brothers family is coming now and it would have worked out so well if he could have requested that room. I suppose it will still work with him being on another floor. :( but would have been nicer the other way.

Thanks for the responses--we are getting excited for our trip!

Hi WL experts!

Question, I am booked at WL over the 24 hour park event at MK Memorial Day weekend. Was anyone at WL the last time they had the 24 hour party??

My specific question, do they run the boats to MK all night long, prior to the 6 am opening on Friday, the first day, and until 6 am of the second day? Or do they provide busses instead?

Thanks all! :hourglass

Well our trip just gets better and better!! We still really love WL :). Yesterday abd today had perfect weather!

Yesterday's lunch was 50's Prime Time after riding RNRC, TOT, Great Movie Rude and star Tours. Shopped a bit, went back to grab a drunk by the pool and sit on the balcony! Then changed and headed to Cali Grill. Window table and a super great waitress named Mo!!!!

Dinner was perfect! Boat back to WL to change and head over to MK to end the night!!!

Beautiful view! Thanks for sharing all your live trip updates! It is helping to distract me from this never-ending winter!!
By the way, please don't edit your post!! I laughed out loud picturing you grabbing some drunk by the pool and bringing him/her up to your balcony! :)

Checked in yesterday and everything was as amazing as you all have described. Our room wasn't ready but I wasn't worried...we hit magic kingdom and came back to the room very late for us (10pm). I just realized we got the studio without a balcony...so disappointed. I did all my research and knew 4533 was the room I did not want but was too exhausted to notice last night. Bummed! :(

HaHa - We observed in January that our nachos had less toppings than they did in December. :rotfl: Maybe it was a late December cut-back. ;)
Well, this doesn't bode well for future pulled pork nacho photos. It might eventually just be a photo of the plate and chips...

Kook: believe it or not my youngest DD got to spend the evening with Jess last Juky!! This trip they are spending the entire day with a character breakfast, princess activities at MK, dinner in France at Epcot..... It's going to be great!!! Jess is an absolute sweetheart :). My oldest DD has been conversing with Jess. since she applied to the program :)
That is just too coincidental. It's a small (DIS) world after all, isn't it? Love the Happy Disney Girls photo:)

ETA: Also, if you wouldn't mind updating the roll call I switched my dates to Sept. 16-24th to be able to enjoy the F&W Festival! :-) Thanks!!
:thumbsup2

Yippee for the BB! I'll post your dates.

You're going to love the Lodge and I'll add your dates to the Lodgers' Log. It's very peaceful at WL and I highly recommend visiting FW right next door. There's a lovely walking trail and it's a great diversion. Trail's End and HDDR are fun and there are many activities at both WL and FW. Let us know if you have any questions and happy planning:)

Glad to see they still have the paella. It was added recently and I thought it was very good. Enjoy!

I can't answer your question, but welcome to the thread.

Glad you got a great waiter at CA Grill. We had an awful one on Christmas Day. I LOL'd from your auto-correct, too:rotfl:

I felt the same way and pictured it like a scene from Weekend at Bernie's.

Darn. Can you switch today or tomorrow? I'm glad though that everything else has been amazing:goodvibes
