Closed but Active PaperBag Album Swap Check in Here!!!

I was also thinking it would be better not to put a title. That's what I will do.

I started working on these today. I put one book together to see if I understood the directions - it went very smoothly! Mostly I worked on my embellishments. I'm glad we have until July for this one - I want to be able to take my time and have fun with these!

I just posted this on the other thread- I think I would rather not have a title, that way I can personalize it.
S :)

I sat down this evening and made this paperbag album from start to finish for my DD. She didn't want a yearbook so I thought this was a fantastic alternative to her being able to have "autographs" and memories of her 8th grade graduation and friends before heading into High School. It is a little rough but all in all I think it turned out wonderfully. She picked all the papers and ribbons to have polka dots.

I'm planning on leaving space for a title, and I rpobably will leave space for the photos on tha pages - I'm a bit concerned what might happen to photos stuck on tags as they would be in contact with the brown paper (although I suppose if its just a fun thing rather than heritage pics its not so bad). I'll probably do some big and some small tags. I wasn't planning on making these too "bumpy" because of the posting - if they get squashed flat very bumpy stickers could get squashed and/or make dents in other pages - has anyone any views? have you posted a batch of these without damage?

Kat, yours is lovely. And you made altered paper clips! Too cool.

I am not putting titles on my books. This way they can be used for what YOU want to use them, not what I wanted them for.

I wasn't really concerned about photos touching the paperbag. LSS makes these all the time and they put photos on the tags. Most of my photos are copies of the digital ones, so I can always replace them at a later date if needed.

I'm using my Jolees on these bags. They might squish, but with the cardstock and other layers of paper, I don't think they will dent through the other sides.

Sorry to cause the major debate over titles.. I just didn't want to NOT title them if I was suppose too... or Title them and NOT need too...

So, NO Title..

Thanks everyone.. I know they were being made for other people..that I why I asked for clarification!

Good thing you did, because I didn't even think about a title till you did. I would have been working away and than realized I didn't know about titles and stressed until it was worked out. Now I don't have to stress. Thank you. My hair thanks you. :scared1:

I LOVE your book, Kat!! Polka dots are my favorite pattern and I love how you used them in the book. It's really fun!!! I'm sure your daughter loves it.

I had wondered about the whole cover itself, as well as title, but had just gotten time to get more into that part. I've pretty much planned the inside pages, though...well, roughly. So, it helps that people are clarifying what they want. I agree, too, that I would rather do my own titles on the covers of my books when I get them back.

argh, I wish I would have thought of this before I started. I guess I'm backwards, after I put in my pages I started with the cover:scared1: like I said, I didn't even think about it. I thought we were supposed to do them. Not a big woopie. Good thing they are fun to do.

I will redo them since I have lots of time :) So my 2 ladies may be getting 2 books, one with just a cover and pages..lol..I can't see throwing them away. I personally can't use them because I don't have these types of puppy babies.

You are so sweet Kat! Thank you. I have lots of photos my husky babies, and my FIL had huskies, so the books will be put to very good use.

I wouldn't redo them, Kat! I just haven't started so I'll leave the titles off. I'm sure the dog ones will fit just fine! Don't redo. I was thinking more of the Epcot ones when I was wondering about the title.

Kat - I love that book! Very teen-like. I wish I had had something like that instead of a dorky junior high yearbook!

Thank you all! for the positive feedback on my album. It was so much fun to do. I finished it with 3 movies..lol.. My living room coffee table is a disaster though since that is where I do all my scrapping. DH just walks by and laughs.

DD was so excited to see the end result. The altered paperclip was so simple! I bought those super huge ones. I had originally only placed one in the album but she wanted them to spiral down. I also used an extra paper bag so she got even more tags for her friends and teachers to sign. When she is done with the "autographs" and such I will add the pictures of her friends and her graduation. I can't believe how simple these books are to make! I will be making alot more of these as gifts.

My doggie albums are going to be "fat" hope my ladies don't mind. I may have to finish the 2 albums each just to use everything I bought. Everytime I go out I see something else and think " OH! so and so needs this in her book. I really don't mind redoing the books. Now I know what I am doing and can make them look better

I love your DD's album - when I left shcool we signed our blouses, and I even embroidered over the signatures:lmao: These would have been a lot cooler, and perhaps I might have done a bit more revising if I hadn't had all that sewing:rolleyes1

ETA I've nothing against fat books - I'm just not clever enough to make them fat myself. But thanks for the examples to look at - that does help a lot!

Hopefully my Bazzill will FINALLY get here this week and I can really crack on with these at the weekend.

I don't mind fat embellishments. I've got some fat ones, too.

How come fat is good on albums but not people?
