I'm easy to please!:goodvibes

I've got the covers planned, but still thinking about the inside. What I found were nautical buttons. Debating about making altered paperclips with them or cutting the eye off the back and using as an embellishment. I'm in the altered paperclip swap and found my inspiration yesterday in the same isle!:thumbsup2

Next question - aka What can I stress over next? ;)

Were we supposed to use cardstock directly on the paper bags? And then use paper on that? Or is it acceptable to put paper on some of the bag pages? :confused3

When I worked on mine over the weekend, I was using Bazzill on one side & printed paper on the other. Somehow it just occurred to me that maybe we were supposed to use all CS against the bag. No bag has paper on both sides of a bag - so they're all pretty firm/stiff.

I'm in your group. It's okay with me. The picture, tag inserts, will make it pretty stiff so I don't think it will be a problem.
My Pooh book has all both stiff textured bazzill and a flimsier linen textured cardstock. Not as thin as plain paper but not as thick as the bazzill either. Mine will alternate also.

It's not big deal since this book can be for me - a trial run so to speak. ;) I just want to know before I move on to the other books.

Some of my pages are bazzill, some are other CS, some are patterened... I'm having fun!

Good for you!!! It's important to use Bazzil for the covers and backs and bindings. You should use it for some pages inside just for the stiffness. I would also use it for your tags, file folders or whatever you are doing for the inserts. Using patterned paper or other cardstock for the other pages is fine! I do the same thing. I also will use patterned cardstock like wild asparagas or daisyd's or other thick patterned paper that is the same quality as Bazzil. HAVE FUN!!!!

OK, I am a bit behind the times, but I just had a chance to sit and look at Kat's pics of her books that she has done and I have to say YES she has the hang of it!!!! They are sooooo cute!!!!! I can so tell that you are having a great time making these things!!!!!

The rest of you just relax and don't stress so much! They are fun, fun, fun!!! You will do just fine, I have faith in all of you!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! :lmao:

just checking in, haven't done anything much yet. was planning on it this week, but you know how they say "the best laid plans"... dh wound up in the hospital sunday for a bicycle accident (who knew biking was so dangerous) he tangled with another bicycle and has a broken leg... hopefully he'll be out the beginning of the week and I can do the books. :) maggie

Whoa! That is serious. He was wearing his helmut, wasn't he? I hope he is resting comfortably and will feel better soon. :flower3:

Wow, I didn't realize it could be so dangerous either. I pray that you'll have things back to a little more normal soon. Hopefully he will either get a walking cast or learn to get around on cruches well.

Here's to a speedy recovery for your DH Maggie...
We have alot of bikers around our area and I'm always so fearful for them with the way some of the drivers seem to aim right for them!

I've just had a phone call from DS(13)s school saying he had an accident in the playground and has a suspected broken arm. I managed to catch my mum before she went out so she has gone to collect him and take him to the hospital (being at work it would take me well over an hour to get home) and DH should be finished in time to collect younger DS from school if they're still at the hospital. I feel I should go home - but I can't do anything and I'll be out of the office until Wednesday, when my boss will be on holiday, so I feel I need to hang around a bit longer... but I don't want to!

My baby needs your pixie dust!

Oh Maggie, I hope everything is looking up this morning!

It's true that we don't think of accidents with another bike being that serious. It's the cars we tend to worry about. I had a friend who was hit by a car while on his bike 2 different times - before he gave up riding it to work. First time: broken collar bone - more of a bump that tossed him off the bike. Second time: multiple broken ribs, broken arm & legs...lots of injuries. It was a hit & run and it threw him right off the road into the trees. It was a while before a jogger even went by & saw him. :scared: He's fine now (except he wears a much smaller jacket size) but no longer rides his bike on the road...just bike paths. Maybe I won't tell him about your DH.

MazdaUK - Being a working mother really stinks sometimes, doesn't it? You need to be with your children when they're hurting whether they need you or not! Even when you can't do anything for them. :grouphug: If you decide to stay, at least leave early to get home & check on your DS. ;)

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

LOTS of Pixiedust for all the broken bones going on!!! What is happening out there!!!! Bicycling accidents... School playground accidents... This world is getting dangerous!!! Tell your BOYS to be careful!!!! I hope they heal quickly and there are no aftereffects from these injuries!!! To Wife and Mom out there Pixiedust to you too!!! You are going to have to take care of the little boys now!!! Good luck to you and remember to have LOTS of patience! AND LOVE!!!! Remember it is not forever!!!!

nicurn: pixiedust: for your DH. I hope he feels better.

Mazda: pixiedust: for your DS. Holy cow! That is always one of my fears, especially since DS likes to cross the monkey bars! Hope he's doing ok. (and that you are doing ok, too!) :)

Here is my first attempt at this...

I'll be adding a ribbon/fiber board to the back cover too. The rest of the ribbon will be put in the spine after I put it all together. Want to be sure I have enough room to open the book comfortably.

Critique please!!

I can't see the pics!!!! I am going to send you a PM with my e-mail at work!!! Hold on!!!
