Close contact - Kids Club

I've seen a few mentions of potential for being put in isolation as a result of close contact from kids at the kids club.

I know what I'm asking will require speculation and word of mouth, but I'm just curious to know if anyone has some insight into how often this is happening?

Trying to assess how kids club attendance would increase the risk of interrupting the vacation.

At this point, I would think it's even a lower likelihood. And probably only on cruises of 5+ nights -- if you are on a short cruise they aren't testing (except for symptoms). There was a poster who reported on this very scenario back in the fall, their child was quarantined as a close-contact from the Club but just for the last night of the cruise.

We're on a 7 night.

So DCL will test the unvaccinated passengers on the day prior to debarkation. Since that is now only kids younger than 5 it's relatively few and only the 3- & 4-yr-olds would be in the Club/Lab. Until a couple of weeks ago, it was potentially kids under age 12. So I expect the risk of quarantine as a close contact in the Club/Lab is considerably lower now.

I am a Youth Activities CM and it actually hasn’t happened as much as people think. I have only seen a handful of kids having to quarantine as close contacts.

That's good to hear. We're supposed to sail next week and have been debating if we'll send our 4YO to the club at all due to the risk of exposure quarantine. I feel bad having him miss out on the club but I also don't want to have the entire family miss out on most of the cruise. Perhaps we'll try sending him more towards the back half.

Since they test all little ones near the end of the cruise, wouldn’t that be more likely when a close-contact is identified? Earlier in the cruise the only testing would be for symptomatic reasons, so I would think less chance of a close contact then.

My reasoning was that worst case, if we send our son and then a child from his cohort ends up being symptomatic and tested, at least we've gotten to enjoy a few days in our nice room first vs taking the chance early on.
