Clermont?

Has anyone rented in Clermont, is it a conveniant location? Any advantages or disadvantages?

I haven't rented there, but we rented just south of there in Davenport and went to the WalMart on the 27 just north of the 192. It's a good 25 minute drive to the parks with no traffic. I wouldn't consider it a convenient location if you plan on returning to the house for midday breaks. The biggest advantage is that you can probably get a much bigger house for a much lower price than some of the closer neighborhoods. Another advantage is that there are tons of stores and restaurants on 192 if you want to stop on the way to/from the parks.

Depending on what part of Clermont, it can be more than 25 minutes. Map wisely.

I used to live in clermont in the 4 corners area if that is the area your looking at it only took me around 10 mins to get to Disney .

Now i must say that Clermont is a pretty big area so if your north clermont all the way up near 50 its could end up taking you 30-45 mins to get to disney

We rented in Clermont in 2009. The house was beautiful with a large pool and the price was great. We did have to "commute" with everyone else down 192. But it prolly took us 15-20 minutes to get to AK. We were only a few streets up from the superwalmart on 27 so it wasn't that far.

Like bentleygirl said, pay attention to "where" in clermont the house is before booking. We took a drive one day up 27 North. There's nothing up there but rolling hills and a campground for miles.

As far as we could tell, they only way to WDW is 192. You go under the new western way too but that appears to be a round about way to get there.

If you book anywhere west of wdw entrance, look for Black Lake Road and/or Sherberth Road. This will bring you to AK lodge area. The traffic is bearable once you get to disney property.

looking to buy in Minneola - which is above Clermont. It is about 28 miles to Epcot - around 30 to 45 minutes - in traffic it will probably be longer.

really want to live here because of the forest, lakes and rolling hills.
