This belongs on the budget board because we cancelled our Disney portion of our trip because we are being responsible. Anyway, we are considering spending 2 days in the Clearwater/St. Pete's area. We will take in a baseball game. Is there enough to do for 2 days? Any ideas on what a ds 16 and dd 13 might like? Places to stay that shuttle to the Tropicana stadium? Thanks

Make sure and visit John's Pass. It is in between Clearwater and St. Pete. We go every time we visit Clearwater. It is sort of an outdoor mall with shops, a pier, boats, etc. It's fun to walk around, window shop and kill time.

Tons of stuff to do there! Definitely see a Rays game. St. Johns Pass is nice. Dolphin cruises are nice. The beaches are just fantastic. Our favorite is Pass-A-Grille at the southern end, but they're nice all the way up to Clearwater. There is fun tuff in Tampa too. We like the Aquarium and Busch Gardens. We usually go for 5-7 days every other year, and we have yet to be bored.

We have spent a couple of recent spring breaks in Clearwater. We really like Ft. DeSoto Beach (it is a state park) which is to the south. It is beautiful. During this spring break, we took a Segway tour of the park (through a private operation) and it was a big hit with my 3 DDs. We all had a lot of fun. I would highly recommend it. They also have tours in Clearwater Beach proper but I find it too crowded to truly enjoy a Segway there.
