We're going to Clearwater Beach for a couple of days during our stay and I'm thinking about booking the 'Little Toot' for one of the dolphin encounters (the boat trips that go out into the Gulf where you can see the dolphins swimming and playing etc). Has anyone done this and do you know if you get seasick? My DH is a bit concerned as he doesn't want to be suffering!

TIA

We're thinking of doing this as well, so I would be interested to know.

I have read about it in simon's book, and it sounds great.

Hi Heatherbelle, we did a similar trip a couple of years ago but on a much bigger boat and although it was good, the Little Toot was along side us and the dolphins really were having a wonderful time in the spray at the back of the tug. My only fear is that with such a little boat there could be a tendency towards seasickness for DH :)

i think that you will be fine on the boat - it is quite big.

(they use a special 'trick' to make the dolphins appear) - i won't tell you though!

have fun!

Hi
we have been on the little toot, the staff are really friendly, they tell you where all the stars live along the coast, we did see dolphins, I thought the trip was very good, I dont think you will get sea sick, my son loved it. The price was very good. You will have a great time, oh yes there is a toilet on board which is handy for the children.

Hi Toni and welcome to the Dis :)

Do you have a trip planned?

sue - we stayed at a hotel in Clearwater Beach and although we didn't do it ourselves, we did end up chatting to several people who spoke very highly of this trip :)
