Clearly, We ARE Insane! 4th of July at the World! DONE 8/12

Great report! I envy you being there with your parents as an adult- that's so awesome!
MorePlease?!

Loving your newest report here, but where is the rest of the story. Let's get going it's been 10 days since your last post. ;)

Hey, I never finished this thing did I! :guilty: Well, I’ll give it a go, becos I certainly don’t want to be one of those People That Don’t Finish Their Reports. whoops.

On our last day, we had breakfast at the B-Line and headed to Epcot around noon. Oh my, it’s ever so crowded. Of course we headed straight for Soarin’ and got one of the last FP - 8:20 PM! And we went outside and it was raining! AAAAGH! So we ducked into Figment, which had a teeny line, and it was adorable as always. A bit hungry, so we stopped at the Fountainview Bakery and ate some sort of pastry snack while watching the fountain. I wanted to surprise my parents next with the Visa Meet and Greet but it had just started and there was a huge line so we went to the Living Seas to visit my dear manatee friends, Lou and Boc. They were sleeping instead of chomping on cabbage like last time, which was a mite disappointing. But nevermind, we are off to the Coral Reef! :fish: I’ve never eaten here before and loved it - they put us right next to the tank. I had the Diver Special, which was lobster soup, sauteed shrimp & baked potato, and cheesecake (which I swapped with my dad for the chocolate wave.....yum), and a drink of course, the Rum Runner. :drinking1 My parents had the catfish and the mahi mahi. We had marvelous views of the turtles and sharks and sting rays. Afterwards we tried our luck with the Visa Meet and Greet again - SUCCESS WAS OURS! :teeth:

I also had to run over and send email postcards to all the poor suckers back home

Well? Who’s INSPIRED?!

Our times guide informed us that my dad’s favorite group, the voices of liberty, would be starting soon so we headed over to that - they were fantastic, and we watched the American Adventure show. I love love the audio animatronics in this, but my parent’s general consensus was... “eh.” Come on, it’s 4th of July! You guys are no fun. :p

We wandered some more around the WS but it wasn’t terribly thrilling as dad didn’t want to shop and the lines for the rides in Mexico and Norway were far too long to consider. We walked all the way back to Future World for Spaceship Earth, and then all the way back to WS for the Chinese acrobats. I had never seen them perform inside, so that was nifty. We watched the film there as well, which I hadn’t done in years. Time for eating! Strawberry ice in Italy, pastries and cheese in France. I got some sort of flaky pastry stuffed with creamy goodness. Splendid!

We watched the fireworks from Epcot America, which was insane. There was the normal Illuminations, and then they did a long crazy 4th of July special right over America, so it was directly above us. Imagine every firework you have ever seen in your life going off at once - it was phenomenal. So phenomenal we almost didn’t mind the hour it took to get out of the parking lot and back to the Peabody for one last night.

So the next morning we were up at dawn for my 7 AM flight (which I barely made - I literally ran up to the gate as they were about to close it) and back to work for me.

So that was my July trip, not nearly as exciting as May's, but a treat with my two favorite people indeed! I got to do quite a few things that were New and Exciting.

A few weeks after I got back I went to visit a friend in New York who was teasing me about my Disneylove. He said "I don't see why you are so fond of those princess movies, it seems unhealthy to promote the 'wait around for a man to come rescue you' attitude." I pointed out that women like Jasmine hardly waited around for some prince to show up. Pocahontas & Mulan saved their men, thank you, in fact Mulan saved all of China while she was at it.
And look at Snow White: the girl watches both of her parents die, then her lone guardian sends her out into the woods with an assassssin hired to cut out her heart, then she spends however many months in a tiny cramped cottage, cooking & cleaning for 7 eerie little men, and THEN she is poisoned and DIES. She dies, and still she manages to ride off into the sunset in the end. if Snow White can survive all that and come out swinging, we all have some sort of chance at eventual happiness, right? :wizard:

The end for real now! :teeth:

I loved your report! It was entertaining and so much fun. Also, I totally agree with your Snow White assessment. Keep writing!

of those magical memories!! ;)

thank you all for your kind comments and for sticking it out with me! :goodvibes no idea when my next trip will be - probably not for a while, i want to do some traveling around the USA first - but i'll be reading all of your reports in the meantime for sure ;) my grand plan is to charge EVERYTHING for the next five years, and then use the rewards points to spend a week at AKL or the Boardwalk or WL...brilliant no!? :teeth:
