Clear plastic wrap that actually works/sticks

Maybe it's just me but I'm having trouble finding a clear plastic wrap that works well these days. Looking for one that really sticks to the bowl, plate - whatever you're trying to cover - and gives an at least somewhat airtight covering. Haven't had good luck with the various Saran Wraps lately, which makes me wonder if the "recipe" for this product has changed (most likely in an effort to cut costs ). Don't like Press and Seal for day to day use, expensive and not clear.

Anyone have a winner?

I have never been able to find a plastic wrap that didn't make me want to throw a temper tantrum because it never works.

Cling Wrap, but recently I bought a red one that is just like regular Saran Wrap, and does not work as well.


I also used to buy a huge boxed roll at Costco, it was like a commercial type wrap, and it was very clear and worked great. Lasted a long time because it was a huge roll (box was about 8"x8"x24"??)

Glad Cling Wrap. It is what I use and it works great.

I'm not sure of the brand, but the yellow 2-pack at Costco - works great!

I find that the brand of wrap doesn't matter at all, it's the level of humidity in my kitchen!

Glad Press n Seal works wonderfully, unless the dish is cold. Then it won't stick, in my experience. I stopped buying it for that reason, so maybe that issue has been addressed.

On room temp items, it is completely frustration-free!

I only use GLAD Press N Seal. That stuff is amazing. I buy the huge 2 pack at SAM's (usually when they have an instant coupon) and it lasts forever. I especially like that you can peel it back and repress it many times without it losing its cling.

It has little micro ripples of texture on the cling side that makes it stick to anything. I mean it will stick to a solid flat surface, it will stick to mud....

I use it in the bottom of my fridge drawers and it stays put for months, when it gets yucky, I just peel it out and place new again.

No more miles and miles of cling wrap going around the ray/bowl 6 times to get it to stick.

First of all, I love the idea about fridge drawers, and secondly, they must have fixed the issue with cold stuff! YAY!

We used to use it to cover numbing cream on my DD before a site change for her insulin pump and CGM. Worked great!

One of our weird uses is that I wrap DS's feet in it (on top of his socks) before he puts his winter boots on. He somehow always manages to get snow in there when he is out playing this keeps his feet dry!

Press and Seal is also good for wrapping a cast during bathing or showering, or waterproofing a surgery incision for the same purpose.

How well does your chosen brand of plastic wrap stick to itself?

That is, if you tear off a piece big enough to go around the bowl and overlap on the bottom by one and a half inches. (I did not say go around the bowl six whole times.)

Press and Seal. That stuff is amazing. I used to be a bit weirded out by it, but I love it and use it for all sorts of stuff!
Foil is my second choice I have stopped buying any cling/saran wrap products because I hate them so.
