Ok....it is Saturday and cleaning day for most. I know everyone has tips for cleaning. do you have any home solutions for cleaning...

for example. inside windows need cleaning but now windex or anything. what is something else around the house you can use....

need to get gum off something... how can you do this.....

so on and so forth

I've never tried the gum thing, but I've heard that you're supposed to rub ice on it and scrape it off.

this is not for a cleaning day per se..........but
Each day throw out fifteen things.......whether it is paper or a booklet or something that is gathering dust.......I did this and was amazed at how much JUNK I had that was useless and not really important......

for your windows use vinegar and water mixed up....and it comes out squeaky clean

Simplify when it comes to cleaning. I clean my house with basically 2 things...diluted bleach/water and window cleaner. Those 2 things take pretty much care of the 2 bathrooms and the kitchen.

I have furniture polish for the occasional polishing, I have spray on orange oil for the kitchen cabinets which I do twice a year.

I think I have a can of cleanser around for just in case I need a little abrasion.

And that's it. You don't need all this fancy anti-bacterial stuff, or these fancy wipes. Papaer towels work fine.

When in doubt about how to do something I go to the Queen of Clean website - lots of great tips and ways to do things quickly and cheaply, and it always turns out great.

One example - Clean your sink/drain with 1 cup baking soda and then pour in 1 cup vineagar. It foams up and cleans a slower running drain!

ammonia and water works great too ( JUST DO NOT ADD BLEACH...that is a BIG NO NO)

I am a big user of baking soda...make a paste and it works to remove any discoloration off the outside of pots and pans and corelle dishes, when needed I have even used it to scour my sinks and tub.I also mix it in water to wash out my refrigerator. And occasionaly I will sprinkle it on our beds, let sit for 30min. then vacuum.
1/2 c.vinegar is also a great replacement for bleach in your whites(it doesn't leave an odor)

I had gum on my leather car seats and used a pencil eraser to get it off.
