...at how much I've been hoarding for years! Why do I do that? My side of the closet has been out of control since we moved in practically and since I despise cleaning, it's never been a priority. My sister is here for the holidays and she offered to help me stay motivated (knowing she could go shopping through my closet, too!). It took a few hours but I easily filled 6 huge lawn bags of clothing (that are so heavy I have to drag them) for our clothing room at church. SIX BAGS! I can't believe I have held onto that much stuff for so long and I feel guilty about it! Other people could have used it and I wasn't even using any of it. Talk about living with excess...
I do feel a huge sense of accomplishment now though my closet looks quite bare
I was ruthless in what I got rid of and only kept stuff I *knew* I would wear in the next 6 months. I also organized it all. Now if I can just stay on top of it...
Have you ever cleaned something out like that and just was appalled at how much you've held onto for no good reason? I can't wait to haul that stuff up there - some of it was new with tags on - plus lots of sweaters and warm clothing that I know is needed this time of year.
If you haven't purged your closet in awhile - it's freeing! Make time to do it!
